Bless you for uploading this, 1965 is such a hard contest to find. What's remarkable is how much better produced this show was than the one that RAI did 26 years later.

Der Contest in Italien '65 war eine Klasse für sich. Damals waren die Interpreten ganz anders als heute. Schade, daß Udo Jürgens damals nicht gewonnen hat. Der Schlager' Ich laß, sie grüßen' war eine Klasse für sich.

La France Gall tenía una buena canción, eso no se niega... Pero Conchita tenía una buena canción y además dió un gran espectáculo. Si no era para ganar, era por lo menos para ganarse dentro del podio ese año, ante tanta balada añeja.

Ein Nachschlag auf Udo Jürgens. Er war zwar damals nicht der Sieger in Neapel, aber er hatte ein achtbares Ergebnis .
The French commentator doesn't let us hear Renata speaking 😭
He is like a pain. I never understood why commentators had to speak over the contest hosts.

France Gall brought the badly needed change of style in the so far terribly boring dull sleep-inducing songs in Eurovisión.
What I'm confused about is why was Sweden allowed to sing in English in 1965?
There were no restrictions on languages before 1966, it was just assumed that every country would sing in their own language. After Sweden sang in English this year, the EBU brought in the language rule.

Alan Smith To be fair to the singer- his English was very good- but the song belonged to the Edwardian age.
They went too fast for her song at the end, totally threw her off!

Obviously, our television lost everithyng...That's how we italians are. We give the vote to a fascist which leaves people dying on the Mediterranean sea, and we forget any form of brotherhood, or culture....SAVE ITALY!!! SAVE MY COUNTRY!!!!
