There will never be another Graham. He is truly an icon in hosting, comedy and personality plus. I am so lucky to still be here to enjoy his wild and crazy antics.
I just love that man. He is an extremely talented artist - writer- actor TV presenter- etc- etc. The late and sadly missed genius of radio and television Sir Terry Wogan really spotted his talent and was not wrong in nominating him to replace him in Eurovision.
Graham's comment about growing up with the voice of Terry doing Eurovision, to me, is the same as David Attenborough doing nature programmes. It's going to be soooo weird when he goes. Long may he continue!
The thing is, there's a very good chance he didn't. He "might" have been able to watch BBC though reception where he grew up might have been spotty. Plus, Ireland (like every country) has its own commentator for Eurovision. He certainly would have heard Wogan in the 80s though when he moved to London.
American (USA) here. It's 2024 and I've never seen this video. I'm giddy. Graham is my #1 fav talk show host, and Jonathan Ross is for sure one of my top favorites.
This looked older than it was. 13 years ago, my guess would have been 20. Never seen Graham in drag. In NY we only get his show a week later stuffed with commercials. Better than nothing .....
too few interviews of him being interviewed. He and Jonathan get on so well. I wish there was a show with Craig Ferguson and Graham Norton. That would make my telly life complete.
Jonathan: "This is the mini-me to my Austin Powers" *within less than a decade* Jonathan to his producers (probably): "Why are our guests so shit now?" Producers: "Because they all book the Graham Norton Show instead".
it would be crazy if Graham left to go to ITV wouldn't it Jonathan! and now the Graham Norton show is appointment TV on Friday at 10:30 and Jonathan is on ITV, at.....sometime?
In case you haven’t seen the other comments, about 13 years ago A little time, maybe 2 years, after this Ross got sacked from the BBC and Norton got this shows time slot, while Ross tried to complete on ITV, his show failed and got moved to another day. Foreshadowing.
A negative, followed by a positive in an answer is very Irish. "Did your family come to see you?" "No, they did!" This is not a dig, I find it delightful.
When JR started he didnt give a f**k and was fairly edgy with guests and had me cracking up all the time but then turned into a Amercian syle scripted watered down version mostly focuses on PR. Love Graham :P
This interview is quite OK, although somehow I sense some kind of rivalry peeking out of the corners. But from all the interviews I have seen of Graham, to me he seems far worse in interviews than he is hosting his own show. Either he seems to push his own agenda a bit too much, or being a bit too awkward (in the interviews). Of course his talent as a show host is just legendary.
Well someone had to, and who better than Sir Terry to do so, rather than some arsehole in management making that decision. Just look what the idiots have decided to get ride of on their programs, good representorsl for younger morans with no personality, full of guff, and as Sir Terry Wogan said in jest of Chris Evans,( it's like an irritating bee/ or wasp buzzing ing your head, and he was so right. Amazing observer of the human traits.
I think the irony here is plain to see. Graham eventually got that Fri night slot and bagged Jonathan's R2 show after the Andrew Sachs scandal and JR did indeed end up on ITV
glad you clarified this for us foreigners Ross is also a very entertaining host to me Graham's big advantage is the format that puts the focus on interaction between the guests
Since Olivia Newton-John died in August 2022, this interview, recorded Sep 2009 and posted October 2022, should be edited to delete the reference to Olivia Newton-John's appearance. I wish UA-cam would make it mandatory that the ORIGINAL recording dates of postings be prominently displayed rather than the dates they are uploaded for viewing. Who cares when they are posted? The most important date is the date recorded.
Read the description. It clearly mentions when this was first aired. The date recorded and the date it first aired/premiered are not the same either. A piece of footage can be recorded weeks, months or years in advance as well, and even re-used many times.

I get the humour... but please don't promote the stereotype that non-heterosexuals all "bum" one another. We don't. Further, as with straights, we have preferences in who we "sleep" with. It's always puzzled me why so many straight guys assume they're a target for all gay guys. Very few men get "bummed" unless they want it.

Graham Norton is one of the most genuine people on television. Funny, quick witted and very very likeable.
Pity he has bought into an ideology though.
Is this from several years ago?

Those serious expressions of deliberation in between bouts of talking just shows how Graham takes his joviality very seriously.
