When I saw that the V Collection had been updated to version 9 I was looking forward to your review. You didn't disappoint. :) Originally I thought the upgrade price of $149 was a little steep, being as I already purchased the SQ80 (I had an ESQ-1 back in the day ). After hearing your thoughts on the full Augmented Strings plus the Augmented Voices I feel better about my upgrade purchase. I like where Arturia has done here, and am looking forward to seeing where they go with it. Most of my music time is spent on weekends so I haven't had time to look into the new features yet, After watching this I already have a few ideas to work with on a new song I've been struggling with. Thanks for the inspiration!
How do you capture the audio? Whenever I record the OBS doesn't pick up the sound because the audio interface is being used. I can capture with a weird broadcast plug in if I'm in my DAW. But cannot capture if I'm just using the stand alone
I use Voicemeeter to create virtual ins and outs that I can route to OBS. The initial setup can be a little tricky but once you are in, it works great. What audio interface are you using? Thanks for watching and I will try to help if I can.
@@PraiseTracks thanks for the quick reply! I'll research that! I'm using Behringer U-Phoria UMC204HD. Makes a big difference using this for music creation. I have another YT account and have a few music vids and other content. Your playing is so beautiful and the setup is amazing. Have a blessed day!
Hello Simeon, I am on the fence to buy the V-Collection... but I am unsure about the AUGMENTED instruments. Apart from that morphing/mixing stuff like Pigments, I really wonder about the samples base material. The Arturia website and videos do not really show the quality of that base material. I am mostly concerned about the natural/authentic voices and strings. Are they really good? From the Arturia video I had the impression that they sound thin and synthetic. (compared to NI Kontakt stuff). I would appreciate your opinion. Or is there any video or review that shows more of the BASE samples? Thanks in advance!
Maik, I would say these would not be as detailed as a dedicated string collection. What we are seeing with the Augmented series is Arturia testing the waters with sample playback and how that could integrate with their powerful synthesis engines. I will have to take a look at how I could demo the strings themselves. We shall see. Thanks for watching.
@@PraiseTracks By the way, another user pointed me on the DEMO. Did not notice that option in the Arturia Center. Unfortunately the DEMO does not allow to edit or see any of the base samples material. There are just some presets one can try out. Too bad ;(
I think the intention is to create more of a hybrid sound so I would not think it would be the same experience as with a dedicated string library. Arturia seems to be testing the waters as this is the first time I have ever seen this type of instrument as far as sample playback on this level. Blended with their extensive knowledge of virtual synthesis, as I mentioned in another comment it looks like they have brought a sample playback engine and fused it together with their Pigments engine to create, this hybrid approach. Thanks so much for watching. Joyfully! 🎹
@@PraiseTracks Yeah it sounds nice also. I asked because I am actually missing a solo strings library at the moment and if I could get at least a semi realistic sound on top of the augmented ones would be a plus for me. In any case, although maybe it does not fit the V Collection, I would have liked to see at some point a couple of plugins from Arturia similar to the Piano V for strings, brass etc that would use some modelling to go after more realistic sounds. Anyway thanks. Cheers.
I have not played with Exhale so it would be hard to make that comparison. Arturia with this Augmented series is creating in my opinion a hybrid approach to sampled instruments by merging them with their powerful virtual synth technology. This reminds me a lot of how they approached Pigments for synths yet it goes in so many directions. Thanks so much for watching.
Yes, I have been using it for about t3 years and have really enjoyed it. The controller is very dynamic and responsive. Thanks so much for watching. Joyfully!
Wow! Both of these look fantastic. Love the Pigments like interface. I had a feeling Arturia was going to knock it out of the park after seeing the Strings Intro. Not sure when I will pick these up, but they are on my purchase list!🙂
I am using a Studiologic SL88: Grand along with the MIDIculous Pro App from Gospel Musicians. it allows me to generate the onscreen keyboard and chord display as separate windows that I can capture inside of OBS Studio and overlay them on top of the keyboard. I have a link to MIDIculous in the description. Thanks for watching.
I had the free version and did not event tried it out until today because I received an email from Arturia to upgrade to the full version for $29. Well so I got to try it out and wow! That is a no brainer now that I have a feel of the potential of it and your video helped in this way Simeon. I feel like it's Pigments but with strings samples. That is cool!
Yep, my though exactly. They are merging the sample playback approach with their synthesis engines and to think this is only the beginning!!! t the moment it can hit the CPU pretty hard at times but baby steps 🤓

Been in need of a high quality String plugin and this is sounding like the one! Great demo thank you!
You're amazing sir ❤️
Thanks you so much for that encouragement, I so appreciate it. Joyfully!🎹

Hi. Can the plugin be used to simulate more realistic string sounds or it is just synth sounds?

@@bernardm3066 Check out SWAM for realistic modeled strings and wind instruments.

Now would be the time with the $29 upgrade price for those that got the free version.
Both are awesome 🤩 I‘ve allready updatet to V9 😎🚀
What controller keyboard are you using that displays the notes and octaves when you play them? Roland controller?

There was no free update for Intro users. They are currently running a €29 euro upgrade from intro.
Great demo and great playing! I love these plugins, have been eyeing them for quite a while now.
And, by the look of things, Arturia is just getting started 😎 Thanks so much for watching. Joyfully!🎹
Enjoyed this DEMO so much, thank you very much!
It is indeed my pleasure. I love sharing my explorations with you. Thanks so much for wacthing.
