      Walker 1955 suffers from a lack of dynamics, and there is sometimes a problem with sustain. The piano is very pleasant to listen to, but to play solo, vsl is much better even if everything is not perfect either. For me, vsl pianos have so much dynamics that the other samples lose a lot of interest...

    First of all, your playing is amazing!!!! You have fun with it and you have a beautiful spirit friend! Great review! How does this compare with the Native Instruments Noire and does this one have a felt piano preset comparable to the Noire? Thanks in advance!

    • @PraiseTracks
      @PraiseTracks  Рік тому +2

      So, under the hood you actually have a custom version of Pianoteq that Arturia has licensed from Modarrt which I find really interesting and exciting. Piano V helps to simplify the tweaking of the piano models with a more user focused interface.
      In my opinion NOIRE is an iconic virtual piano as it leaned in on creating a beautiful "felt" concert grand experience and introduced the "particles' concept which was a first of its kind in the world of virtual pianos.
      Piano V is pretty much a straight forward collection of more traditional pianos and does not feature a felt variant. You can approximate a felt feel by adjusting the timbre and brightness controls as well as working with eq and the other effects.
      I hope that helps. Thanks so much for the kind comments and support, it means so much to me. Let me know if I can be of help in the future. Joyfully yours!

      My pleasure. I think the key to this and most every piano library is to dial in your keyboard controller. Getting the velocity response curve set is so important to make sure you are getting the most dynamic. The SL-88 has a great dynamic range that digs out so much of what is in the libraries. Also, the V-Piano is using a derivative of the Pianoteq modeling engine which I think is pretty cool. Thanks so much for watching.

      @@PraiseTracks I actually have the V collection 8 which has the V2 piano and then this inspired me to check out the newer V3 which was MUCH, much better. And once I started looking into it, I also saw did see the Pianoteq backend which is awesome.
      I've been on the fence between the UA ravel that's on sale for $40 and the $50 upgrade for the Arturia piano, and I think I'm leaning towards with the Arturia for the versatility but it does have some artifacts in the room sound that I don't always love. I'm coming back to keys after years off and I don't have any piano VST's yet, which do you think I should go with? .....Maybe both 😂
      It does seem like the Ravel is in the early stages and could use an update with some more functionality

      @PraiseTracks  4 дні тому

      A modeled piano by any other name, plays almost just as sweet. I say this due to the fact they have licensed some of the Pianoteq engine in producing the _Piano V. I looked into some of the code and found many references to Pianoteq in there which was a fun surprise.
      While they use the Pianoteq engine, it is a somewhat earlier version and Arturia brings their user interface approach to it, making it more accessible possibly to provide an opportunity to work with this type of modeling in a more intuitive way. Thanks for watching.
