I was honored to have met a few of the Dells. They attended my parents high school Thornton and it is really cool that my parents can mention Rock and Roll Hall Of Famers attended school with them.
I truly miss this wonderful legendary group's performances. I followed them in the Philadelphia, Pa and New Jersey areas since the late 1960's. THE BEST

One weekend this past March of this year, I rented a car for a long distance trip. I picked up my mom because I thought she would enjoy it. You know how we do. Well, so... I was playing Reminincingi 2011 on the CD player. And I said "Yep. Mom those guys still at it. She said "Good old Preach. That is what we used to call him." (My parents were fans way back) RIP Mr. Johnnie. Didnt know you were gone. Rainbows.

just found my old vhs tape of these rock and roll hall of fame inductions. though i know i taped this to see jackson browne inducted by springsteen during this same award ceremony...it's the dells singing this song that really sent me back to my first love of music.... doo-wop. really...not many groups can nail these same notes 50 years after they first sang them, but these guys do. great artists and great performers and all the original members. just magic!
