So when your using the southern bushes, your basically triple or quadruple bushing the enemy.
Why bush works 101: One set is a vertical row of bushes meaning the camo radius overlap and there is no gap. One set is a horizontal row of bushes meaning they don't overlap as much and gaps do happen. Disclaimer: horizontal and vertical assume the ennemy come from the top direction.
That plays into a part of it but wg has blatantly said that not all bushes provide camo and there is no way to tell apart the ones that do from the ones that don’t

they def are, especially now that crewing up is super super easy, you buy a premium tank, it usually comes with 100% crew (thought most people do not use it, they use the tier 10 crew) so then you spend 4 mil on 2 universal crew books, 500k exp right off the bat, i think thats usually got me 3 skills/perks and then you add all the boosters they been giving away for free, i have hundreds of 200 and 300% crew exp boosters, you pop one of those, then do your x2 if your in a clan, the clan pops their crew booster and you go into skirms by the end of the month just goofing around you'll have 4 skills and part way into 5th one. because the majority of players buy tier 8 premiums specifically to crew train their tier 10 crews, often times by the time i buy a prmeium tier 8 my tier ten crew already has a bunch of skills in it (cuz i can never afford it when a new one comes out in the middle of the month, so i just wait till they come up for sale again, took over a year and a half to get the defender, by then my object 277 crew had 5 skills already lol, long story shot, most people put their highly skilled tier 10 crew in the tier 8 premium tanks.
radio range is a little overrated, honestly. Rarely are you going to be more than 400 meters or more from an allied tank so their radio will interlock with yours,, and theirs with the next tank,, and so on and so on. Gigantic radio range is really helpful for tank destroyers who might be a ways behind the team,, but for a medium, a giant radio range, esp with .38 accuracy, really doesnt give you an advantage.
I think this got nerfed after it was first introduced. The intra clip reload is so good that I don't think they could have made it better without it being broken

Small suggestion for WG that can make this tank better, change the intro clip reload from 1.8s to 1.6s and damage from 240 to 250. So now we have a higher alpha and faster shooting progetto 46 with lower dpm and everything else. Making this tank unique for its burst fire.
yea, I agree with the intra-clip reload. I also think it needs a slightly higher alpha OR a couple seconds less clip reload. It has poor pen and alpha and accuracy. it needs something going for it.
Shouldn't they give the autoloader also to the tvp vtu? Funny how the normal tech tree tier 8 has a single shot gun when it's bigger brothers and the premium variants has autoloaders
Especially as the VTU has nothing going for it... its an ugly, gigantic box of non-existant flat armor with mediker gun handling, ok-ish DPM (with the 8.8cm, medioker DPM with the 10.5cm), bad gun depression of only 6°, meh penetration, meh view range, average mobility... and it does take module and crew damage like hell. Apart from the ok DPM with the 8.8cm gun this tank has entirely nothing that would make it a "good" tank... At least give it the autoloader. Better reload and gun handling than the Premium Skoda, but slightly worse mobility, gun depression and boxy-nes. Like the Progetto vs Panthera...

M4 49 vs AMX 65t; panthera vs progetto 45; Lynx vs EBR; 53TP vs 50TP prot.; UDES vs Strv SI... WG is pretty consistent in their fucked up logic... all of mentioned premiums would fit into tech tree mouch more than current tech tree tanks on that positions
It is weird because the tier VI Skoda should replace the VTU and vice versa. Change the stats according to the tier. And the VTU literally makes sense compared to the Skoda T40 playstyle and looks wise
Those bushes actually do work if your WN8 is higher than yellow. You can actually pull back and go hull down pretty easy with light tanks as long as you have 7 degrees of depression you can see the lower plates of everything in the other bush, spot pull back and fire sort of meme. The main reason the bushes on the other side werent working is because they continuously fired in the bush to break its camo.
the bush on the south side of fisherman's bay works because it's longer and therefore there is more bush between you and the nearest enemy, whereas the north side bush is sideways perpendicular and thus much shorter from north to south

Napalmer Lorr has higher alpha, more shells, and longer reload between the shells, while the Skoda and Progetto are quite similar in this way. Likely the Progetto and Skoda has a more similar play style.

10:38 the reason for this @quickybaby is because the side you are on has an extra 2 or 3 bushes stacked together whereas the other side only has a row of bushes 1 thick. Given that bushes only give a certain amount of concealment and bushes concealment bonus stacks the side with the line of bushes gets spotted immediately upon moving towards the Bush line.
Something I really like about the czech medium line is even though they're all kinda big the way they move feels like a light tank. No downhill slope required to reach top speed quickly.

I've bought this as my first t8 tank. As a primarily TD / Arty player, i have a lot of fun with it. After the jagdtiger it's difficult sometimes as it's essentially cardboard, but i enjoy the learning curve
I have a theori about the bushes. I think there is a small gap between the ground and the bushes after they made the maps HD. So when you drive up a hill and into a bush you get spotted, because the spotting points on your tank go past that gap between the ground and the bush. Maybe Im completely wrong, but to me it seems to be the case.
Finally another premium Czech tank. I have been waiting for more Czech tanks for it seems like ages. I had to log over 1000 battles in my Skoda T-40 to get my crew trained up enough to be competitive at higher tiers. Now I shouldn't have to work forever to be competitive at tiers 8-9-10. Just bought the T-27. I kinda like it. You are right in that the gun feels a little underwhelming. its sort of like playing a Panther with an autoloader. Three shots of plink-plink-plink then run and hide for 22.5 seconds. all the while wondering if your team will have your back.
I feel like WG should have given this tank at least something like 280 average damage per shot. Then I would have thought this made sense to me, the 240 damage just feels very awkward.
I agree about the bush camo. Stupid how they just don't work the same. There are similar bushes on the other side of the map as well, by the houses and rocks.
As a tank hoarder, I feel obliged to buy this tank which will set me back almost 40 €. That's a lot. Thing is, what QB did not highlight, starting tomorrow there is this special Tsjech event lasting 10 days. Each day a mission will become available for you to play in a Tsjech tank, giving you all sorts of bonus goodies. Nice. But if you play those special missions in a T-27, you will be rewarded with more bonus loot, which makes buying this tank for real money just that bit more enticing, almost like a reverse marathon. Very devious of WG. Anyway, the bonus loot is quite alluring, extra credits, training books and blueprint for the Tsjech tech-tree and a female crew to boot if you complete all ten stages.

Italy and Poland came after the Czech tree, yet they received their tier 8 tanks befory the Czech tree did. Plus it makes more sense than releasing multiple tier 8 tanks of the same class and nation.
Quicky that camo style isn't meant as czech flag but as czehoslovakian. In 1991 when these 2 countries separated the compromise was that none of these 2 countries will take the czechoslovakian flag but czechs took it.
Just got and i like it actually. Faster burst save saved many times from hit or two since i tend to get greedy to shoot more than 1 shot when should not. :)
Been grinding my t 44 the last few days and have encountered alot of skoda t 27s. I was able to pen the turret cheeks regularly with standard ap of the 100mm gun (190 pen). The gun mantle will bounce those rounds however it is not very wide. Do not expect to go hull down in your skoda and fight effectively. You will have to brawl and wiggle alot.
I kinda like the new Skoda, it has about the same alpha as a Tiger one with each shot. I enjoy playing my Tiger so i would love to pick one up. If the price isn't crazy high.
yeah, 8,8 caliber gun like the Tiger. You could actually wait and get the 20% coupon from tankrewards.com if you play on NA server. it'll drop the price down to $35. which is quite nice for a balanced autoloading medium.
And for bushes mechanics, the bulldog on your team is able to proxy spot ennemies from behind a house where they are hidden by bushes only while you are just outside their proxyspotting range. Mapbalance 101...
if they will not adjust the reload time, yeah. But most likely OP for 25 sec reload with 4 rounds. as TVP 50/51 owner, I find the T50 (tier 9) better with 3 rounds. 3 shots is kind of sweet spot for auto loaders

Yeh have to agree with your break down and game play comments. I got this tank and am pretty satisfied with it so far. It's definitely not OP but it isnt shyte either, its comfortably where I believe it should be as a Tier 8 prem. However, the one thing you didnt mention is that the new contest coming up has a special requirement if you have this tank...as well as special rewards.
T27 looks okay, competitive but not OP. I will likely get one, but will wait until it is on sale. Maybe they will have it on sale right before a Frontline episode or on the Advent calendar in December.
well, be careful to compare all the time to the Progetto46 - it's OP.. no, it needed better Gunhandling and better Pen (212mm or 217 even) then.. same or better softstats for the Gun and 2.0 Aimtime (so its going to match with the intraclip reload) - in the state it is now.. 4 Shells needed / like Lorraine

For me the Obj 430 is pretty awesome. It's the best tech tree tank I've played/loved from the start and I just hit my 5th skill on it from the ground up. Otherwise, yes the Prems are great for making creds. I will be picking this Skoda up for sure
I'm actually having much better games when in the center bushes for the north spawn. I also always shoot down one little building in the direction of the city to get juicy side shots at heavies who think they are completely safe but there's just enough pixels for me to get shots off while it's super hard for them to keep me spotted, find the opening and aim in time before I pull back. That position also gives you nice line of fire at the enemy sniper nest in the south-west corner when your scouts manage to spot them.
Skoda T 40 isn't a bad tank, it's actually a really good tier 6 medium due to the 8.8 it has. Now you must do a tank review of the Skoda T 40, being a Czech holiday and all. SKOOOOODA!!!!!
Niche it is. Lorraine has 1200 clip, longer inter, longer full clip. Progetto has 720~ clip, smol inter, longer if you dump full. IS-3A has op, op, op.
And here we see another clear example of a Pay-2-Win tank, this is basically what the TVP VTU should have always been and what the TVP VTU is should have been the premium.
The problem with your reviews is that you play with a epic crew and with all prem consumables so all tanks you play have great accuracy, you should do reviews and only use standard stuff like a standard player
I definitely see your point but I disagree. He made a very good point of saying that if you buy the premium consumables on sale for 10k silver, you wouldn't really need to worry about money because you'll make it back in a game or two. Not mention, that the crew will have accelerated training due to the premium bonuses. I consider myself a fairly standard player and all of my premium tanks are completely decked out so I think his use of crazy crews and consumables in these kinds of reviews is a good thing.
Hey Quickybaby, I think that this tank is spot on in terms of balance. I understand that you gotta compare it to the Progetto 45, but comparing it mainly to arguably the best (or at least the most fun) tier 8 premium tank in the game may not show just how solid the Skoda T27 is. For example, I would prefer to play this than say the Super Pershing or the FCM 50t. I know that that's just my opinion though, and I absolutely agree with you that these premium tanks should fulfill a niche of some sort. Regardless, keep making terrible content, you are awesome.
280 Alpha could have been a good middle ground between 240-300 alpha. very lackluster damage especially since the Progetto can do way more with the 240 alpha due to its autoreloader, The T 27 should have the damage model of those British tanks that get a 280 alpha gun
Give it one more shell in the magazine for slightly longer reload (maybe 3 seconds). Buff dmg to 250 and buff aim to .36. That would make it balanced from my view.
Honestly, I think they need to stick with 3 shells in the magazine. It fits with the rest of the line. However, buff the full mag reload time, and give it some gun handling buffs and it could be a nice tier 8 premium, without being over powered.
WHY THE BUSHES WORK THE WAY THEY DO: Then enemy bushes run side-to-side, and are "1 bush thick" when the enemy is behind them. QB bushes run "front-to-back" which means they are "2-3 bush thick". So in QB's spot, he is sitting behind 2-3 bushes, whereas the enemy is only sitting behind 1 bush.
I just thought of this idea now: why do we call all of this autoloader when there is two types why just call tanks like the B C17T a "cliploader", that way we can call the Italian tanks the autoloader. Idk about you guys but it makes alot of sense to me, it's just an idea to put out there

Those horizontal bushes still provide shit camo compared to other horizontal or single bushes in the game. Something is definitely wrong with them.

I like where they are going with this tank and its power level. I would give it a clip reload buff or buff capacity to 4 shells.

Why would you compare it to the Progetto 46, and not the Lorraine 40t?
The Skoda T27 is an autoloader, not an autoreloader...
Napalmer Lorr has higher alpha, more shells, and longer reload between the shells, while the Skoda and Progetto are quite similar in this way. Likely the Progetto and Skoda has a more similar play style.
So basically yolo and wish for the best...
In the end you will make profits just by doing 400 damage and nothing more in the worst case.

10:38 the reason for this @quickybaby is because the side you are on has an extra 2 or 3 bushes stacked together whereas the other side only has a row of bushes 1 thick. Given that bushes only give a certain amount of concealment and bushes concealment bonus stacks the side with the line of bushes gets spotted immediately upon moving towards the Bush line.
Something I really like about the czech medium line is even though they're all kinda big the way they move feels like a light tank. No downhill slope required to reach top speed quickly.

I've bought this as my first t8 tank.
As a primarily TD / Arty player, i have a lot of fun with it. After the jagdtiger it's difficult sometimes as it's essentially cardboard, but i enjoy the learning curve
I have a theori about the bushes. I think there is a small gap between the ground and the bushes after they made the maps HD.
So when you drive up a hill and into a bush you get spotted, because the spotting points on your tank go past that gap between the ground and the bush.
Maybe Im completely wrong, but to me it seems to be the case.
Finally another premium Czech tank. I have been waiting for more Czech tanks for it seems like ages. I had to log over 1000 battles in my Skoda T-40 to get my crew trained up enough to be competitive at higher tiers. Now I shouldn't have to work forever to be competitive at tiers 8-9-10. Just bought the T-27. I kinda like it. You are right in that the gun feels a little underwhelming. its sort of like playing a Panther with an autoloader. Three shots of plink-plink-plink then run and hide for 22.5 seconds. all the while wondering if your team will have your back.
I feel like WG should have given this tank at least something like 280 average damage per shot. Then I would have thought this made sense to me, the 240 damage just feels very awkward.
I agree about the bush camo. Stupid how they just don't work the same. There are similar bushes on the other side of the map as well, by the houses and rocks.
As a tank hoarder, I feel obliged to buy this tank which will set me back almost 40 €. That's a lot. Thing is, what QB did not highlight, starting tomorrow there is this special Tsjech event lasting 10 days. Each day a mission will become available for you to play in a Tsjech tank, giving you all sorts of bonus goodies. Nice. But if you play those special missions in a T-27, you will be rewarded with more bonus loot, which makes buying this tank for real money just that bit more enticing, almost like a reverse marathon. Very devious of WG. Anyway, the bonus loot is quite alluring, extra credits, training books and blueprint for the Tsjech tech-tree and a female crew to boot if you complete all ten stages.

I think the bushes work better on that side because they are in a line so stack up, whereas on the other side they are perpendicular so don't stack
10:30 Those bushes are better because they allow the player to be double bushed. While on the other side they have a row of single bushes.
Nice vid QB. Looks like an interesting tank but without knowing the price I'll stick with my Skoda T40. Been having more fun lately at the mid-tiers anyway. I've been taking my time enjoying the T-34/100 as I am dreading the VTU.

Italy and Poland came after the Czech tree, yet they received their tier 8 tanks befory the Czech tree did. Plus it makes more sense than releasing multiple tier 8 tanks of the same class and nation.
Quicky that camo style isn't meant as czech flag but as czehoslovakian. In 1991 when these 2 countries separated the compromise was that none of these 2 countries will take the czechoslovakian flag but czechs took it.

The Skodat27 needed a buff in the form of reduced ground resistance. That is one of the major benefits of the Prog.
Just got and i like it actually. Faster burst save saved many times from hit or two since i tend to get greedy to shoot more than 1 shot when should not. :)
I think using the Lorraine 40.t would of been also a good comparison to add.

I wish the TVP VTU had two autoloader options, one a two-shot for the 100mm gun and one a 3 shot for the 88mm.
those bushes work better because they run lengthwise, making it almost like a thinker bush, the other side they run sideways, less thickness.
My best round in the whole game, i did with Skoda T27 and the low dpm is very good when you know how to use it ;)
Been grinding my t 44 the last few days and have encountered alot of skoda t 27s. I was able to pen the turret cheeks regularly with standard ap of the 100mm gun (190 pen).
The gun mantle will bounce those rounds however it is not very wide.
Do not expect to go hull down in your skoda and fight effectively. You will have to brawl and wiggle alot.
I kinda like the new Skoda, it has about the same alpha as a Tiger one with each shot. I enjoy playing my Tiger so i would love to pick one up. If the price isn't crazy high.
yeah, 8,8 caliber gun like the Tiger. You could actually wait and get the 20% coupon from tankrewards.com if you play on NA server. it'll drop the price down to $35. which is quite nice for a balanced autoloading medium.

Likely not for the Skoda as they're selling it already. Lately they've had the marathon first for a new tank and then sold it a few months afterwards.

And for bushes mechanics, the bulldog on your team is able to proxy spot ennemies from behind a house where they are hidden by bushes only while you are just outside their proxyspotting range. Mapbalance 101...

as TVP 50/51 owner, I find the T50 (tier 9) better with 3 rounds. 3 shots is kind of sweet spot for auto loaders

Yeh have to agree with your break down and game play comments. I got this tank and am pretty satisfied with it so far. It's definitely not OP but it isnt shyte either, its comfortably where I believe it should be as a Tier 8 prem.
However, the one thing you didnt mention is that the new contest coming up has a special requirement if you have this tank...as well as special rewards.
T27 looks okay, competitive but not OP. I will likely get one, but will wait until it is on sale. Maybe they will have it on sale right before a Frontline episode or on the Advent calendar in December.

well, be careful to compare all the time to the Progetto46 - it's OP.. no, it needed better Gunhandling and better Pen (212mm or 217 even) then.. same or better softstats for the Gun and 2.0 Aimtime (so its going to match with the intraclip reload) - in the state it is now.. 4 Shells needed / like Lorraine

For me the Obj 430 is pretty awesome. It's the best tech tree tank I've played/loved from the start and I just hit my 5th skill on it from the ground up. Otherwise, yes the Prems are great for making creds.

I'm actually having much better games when in the center bushes for the north spawn.
I also always shoot down one little building in the direction of the city to get juicy side shots at heavies who think they are completely safe but there's just enough pixels for me to get shots off while it's super hard for them to keep me spotted, find the opening and aim in time before I pull back. That position also gives you nice line of fire at the enemy sniper nest in the south-west corner when your scouts manage to spot them.
Skoda T 40 isn't a bad tank, it's actually a really good tier 6 medium due to the 8.8 it has. Now you must do a tank review of the Skoda T 40, being a Czech holiday and all. SKOOOOODA!!!!!

Your sides bushes work because the angle of the bushes stacks up causing enough depth to work for your tanks.
And here we see another clear example of a Pay-2-Win tank, this is basically what the TVP VTU should have always been and what the TVP VTU is should have been the premium.
The problem with your reviews is that you play with a epic crew and with all prem consumables so all tanks you play have great accuracy, you should do reviews and only use standard stuff like a standard player
I definitely see your point but I disagree. He made a very good point of saying that if you buy the premium consumables on sale for 10k silver, you wouldn't really need to worry about money because you'll make it back in a game or two. Not mention, that the crew will have accelerated training due to the premium bonuses. I consider myself a fairly standard player and all of my premium tanks are completely decked out so I think his use of crazy crews and consumables in these kinds of reviews is a good thing.
Hey Quickybaby, I think that this tank is spot on in terms of balance. I understand that you gotta compare it to the Progetto 45, but comparing it mainly to arguably the best (or at least the most fun) tier 8 premium tank in the game may not show just how solid the Skoda T27 is. For example, I would prefer to play this than say the Super Pershing or the FCM 50t. I know that that's just my opinion though, and I absolutely agree with you that these premium tanks should fulfill a niche of some sort. Regardless, keep making terrible content, you are awesome.
280 Alpha could have been a good middle ground between 240-300 alpha. very lackluster damage especially since the Progetto can do way more with the 240 alpha due to its autoreloader, The T 27 should have the damage model of those British tanks that get a 280 alpha gun
The LPC-1 has a 90mm with 280 damage. this tank also should have had 280. no nerfs, just straight up buff. 280x3= 840
Fortunately this thing looks pretty balanced, also at least on NA there’s gonna be missions to get a special 3D style for this tank.

Give it one more shell in the magazine for slightly longer reload (maybe 3 seconds). Buff dmg to 250 and buff aim to .36. That would make it balanced from my view.
Honestly, I think they need to stick with 3 shells in the magazine. It fits with the rest of the line. However, buff the full mag reload time, and give it some gun handling buffs and it could be a nice tier 8 premium, without being over powered.

About the buch on teh enemy side .. you can see a small gap near the house on the right side . thats why the buch dont work there.
WHY THE BUSHES WORK THE WAY THEY DO: Then enemy bushes run side-to-side, and are "1 bush thick" when the enemy is behind them. QB bushes run "front-to-back" which means they are "2-3 bush thick". So in QB's spot, he is sitting behind 2-3 bushes, whereas the enemy is only sitting behind 1 bush.
