      It would have been OK if he went to Addidas or something. Its just UniQlo sounds like a a washing machine Manufacturer. How do the Japanese like this brand so much?

      Tad Ficus Catus True. Uniqlo is paying him $300M for 10 years but Roger as their ambassador will be generating income for them probably 5x in the same time frame.

    My first reaction when I saw a different logo on Federer: what the hell, he looks aweful!
    My reaction as match went on: He looks just like the Federer I know when he's playing, regardless of the logo.
    My reaction after match: Federer is Federer. He will be Federer even if he steps on court wearing his pajamas.
    His fluidity, efficiency and grace will make anything he wears shine. All I can say is Uniqlo is one very lucky company to have Roger sport them.

      It is kinda of coarse. They just need to come up with a logo

      Philipp genau das! Aber als ein Deutscher hatte ich Probleme ein paar Gesprächteile zu verstehen, das ist Schweizdeutsch 😂

    • @SEVENROCK100
      @SEVENROCK100 6 років тому +24

      He talked about that his contract with NIKE ended in March and since then he thought that another deal with NIKE would happen. He started looking for a new clothing deal at the point the contract ended and not before, because he thought it was the right thing to do. So the negotiations with NIKE were negative and as a result Roger looked for something new. He decided to go with UNIQULO because as a fashion brand and not only a sport clothing brand they are very interested in working with the RF brand after Federers active career. Roger said, that he hopes to write a new chapter with UNIQULO to establish the brand in sports clothing and to open up a store in Zurich. He said, that he is very interested in the Asian market and he thinks it has a huge potential. He also likes the Asian culture and after his career it could be the case, that he will be more involved in the Asian region.
      These are the main things I can remember!

    Surprised Nike let him go !
    I thought he had a life-long contact with them, just like Michael Jordan has.
    I think it's a mistake from Nike, Roger is for sure in top 5 athletes of all times, if not No 1, in the past Nike usually wanted to have those kind of elite athletes on those life-long contacts.
    Now I wonder will they let go Nadal as well...

    Gonna take me a while before I get used to seeing Federer in something other than Nike - and by then he might be retired. The headband without the swoosh at the front was hard to watch. I understand why Fed would make the change ($300 million guaranteed over the next ten years is hard to turn down) and I also understand Nike's thinking. Doesn't that I should like it

      roter13 whaaaaaa-everrrrr. Sorry how many times has Rafa had “cup cake” draw at RG only real opponent being Nole in his finals and he’s got 10 titles. Whereas in Federer’s side of the draw lopsided with weighty players. Wimbledon gives Roger even draws. Rafa and him have gotten knocked out by players ranked in the 100’s so I don’t think the draw is the issue and
      At least if anything we know Roger is a one handed player always at a disadvantage b/c of that so there’s no real “cup cake” draw.
