    BergvilleFX LED and HID kits are a must have. Also strongly recommend adding the FD stainless brake lines as long as you’re paying shipping for any of the other items on that list.

    Hmmm lowering kits always worry me as stock height is what suspension is engineered around and I always worry ride and handling - my Renault Megane RS265 not sold stateside unfortunately for you all is stock as hard and low as I would go as borderline brittle around town

    I have a 993 similar to yours, I was thinking of a 3.8L rebuild which I beleive can easily make 350bhp, which is at 70bhp more than my 3.6L varioram. Anyone done this to their 993 and if so what do you think?

    • @Rennthusiast
      @Rennthusiast  2 роки тому

      3.8 upgrade is common and I’ll be doing it myself when it comes time to do a rebuild. I’ve been told to wait until the engine needs to be rebuilt anyway.

    Congrats on the 10k subs Will! Absolutely the PSS10’s! And the FD SS kit, yeah! Really does transform the experience. Only one missing I see is I put in a RS lightweight flywheel and that really brought the throttle response and quicker revs for heel/toe to the drive. It is more difficult to drive but once ya got it down, it’s very satisfying! I’d be curious if the chip would make a difference on the verioram? Time to hit up some forums! 😂. Nice job Will

    At 10:37 , oh my God! That is my favorite 993 - original height for daily usability and perfect ride height with uniform gap between the tires and the arches. Original 100% body and 95 with the handle bar. Original 17" wheels!!! The only thing missing is the Riviera Blue! Basic Carrera 993 100% original is the best 993 for me! :) The thing is the German Masterpiece!

    I had a 993 C2 after 4 torsion bar 911. I wanted to get the car lower for better handling. I used MO30 OEM springs and snagged one of the last set Koni coil over struts built on the Boge shock struts. The fronts were adjustable with a knob on top. To adjust the rear they had to be removed. I called Koni and sent them the rears. They converted them to top knob adjustment. I got a OEM front spoiler and the factory aero kit spoiler and side rails.

      Yes. But which is better may be specific to the model of car. The 993 rear suspension (multi link) is different from the 964. Comparing between a 993 with one and a 964 with the other needs to bear that in mind.

    Great Video! I have one more suggestion. I have owned a 993 c4 (1995) from new for 25 years. Best thing I had done was take the Flywheel off. The OBD1 cars can run without the Flywheel. Amazing throttle response (like a Motorcycle), also when creeping at slow speeds the car is much smoother. The computer automatically compensates for the lack of flywheel weight on startup. Mark Tashjian at Formula Motorsports made the suggestion and did the job years ago.

    Great video! Will definitely be doing my suspension soon. Have a ‘97 i got not too long ago riding on stock and totally agree with the US ride height. Thinking about the Porsche Classic suspension developed in partnership with Bilstein but doesn’t seem like there are many reviews yet. May be the fact it’s a relatively new product and a little costlier than just getting regularly branded bilsteins but really thinking of restoring mine to be period correct. Thought about the coil overs but not looking for something that aggressive so my best option may just be B8s with RoW springs

    I have all these mods on my 1995 C4, except the steering wheel, which is the 996 3 spoke whel with airbag.
    I would suggest 3 more mods, which bring a lot of benefit:
    Nr1: Powerflex bushes
    change all the bushes front&rear including the rear subframe bushing. The complte set is about 600$ + installation. The firmer bushes don't have any negative aspect for the ride quality, but increase handling while reducing body move
    Nr2: larger sway bar
    I use genue 993 RS swaybars (F&R) which reduce the body roll. You can use aftermarket bras from H&R, Eibach, etc. Price is depending on manufacturer
    Nr3: Rothsport poly steering rack bushings + steering rack brace
    Improved steering feel and precision for 160$
    As Nr4 I'm planning to install Elephant Racing bumpsteer kit for 500$. I've read positive feedbacks, let's see..

      I am running some custom job with headers. It’s a dual center exit exhaust but I don’t know who made it. It’s not labeled and the documentation just says “custom exhaust”
      I don’t love the tone down low but it’s fun up high. The main thing that’s cool about it is the look. I’m swapping back to stock this fall though. No heat exchangers and I’m not doing another winter with no heat in it.
      As far as what other guys run, I know some really like the Danske (sp?). You’ll have to research it. It sounds badass but has some drone I think.

      Rennline magnetic phone mount. It’s a phenomenal product. Clasps around the clock. Price is a little offensive but it holds up well and you’ll only need to buy it once. www.rennline.com/Phone-Mounts/products/1827/

    Here’s a different question…do you try and drive your cars everyday? Also, ever thought about getting a Cayenne?

    • @Rennthusiast
      @Rennthusiast  3 роки тому

      I drive at least one a day for sure. It’s my therapy. I need a new daily but am waiting until next year. Perhaps I’ll check them out. Have never gotten serious about them. What’s reliability like? I have enough trips to the shop with my air cooled cars….so I’m considering a Toyota as a daily lol

      @@Rennthusiast Yeah, I hear you. I bought a 2008 Cayenne S two years ago and it has been really good. It’s a great all a rounder. Bought it for less than $30k, so a lot of car for that money. The later mk1 Cayennes I think have been really good.

    • @Rennthusiast

      Will look into it when the time is right: I’m driving a 1993 Landcruiser as a daily. It’s not the most comfortable but it’s been drama free. I want to get my 964 sorted and on the road before I even think about starting to look for another daily.

      No sir. The previous owner really dialed it in so it’s currently in kind of what I’ll call a “stock +” form. It’s largely an original example so I have decided not to do anything else.

      @@Rennthusiast Hey Will. Thanks for the reply. Same with mine. Mine is 87 with bilstein sport shocks, momo wheel, front strut tower brace, and HRE classic wheels. Have all the original parts that came with, just like you. Plus, unlike you, not as many places here to take the car for mods anyway, so don’t want to mess too much with the original recipe :)

      You know what. I am not even sure. I would imagine it’s the one for the 94 - 95 993. The shop who did all of the work on my car ordered it and I didn’t even shop it myself. If you’re interested, I can dig into it and find out.

      I’m flying out for Luft but haven’t really dug into the particulars. But yes, I’ll be there.
