I would like to thank you all for your amazing comments, suggestions, ideas and feedback! Really makes my 964 journey exciting! I will try to respond to each and one of you asap. In case you forgot to sub, please do, would really appreciate :)
Stock only way to go! I wanted to sell my 911, 1987 Super sport Cab and my wife and I had a fight…. She said two things keep it stock and never sell it…
Clean lines are what the C2 are all about; no wing, no wide body kit etc. You’re so right keeping that stock look and keeping the engine as it is. There’s something rewarding about driving a car like this one with enough power to go fast, but not too much that takes away any incentive to downshift, or making some quick mental calculation about which gear to be in and at what rpm for which curve etc. Having cars that are too fast and don’t require this mental calculation or the downshifts diminishes the very engagement that you cherish. Keep this car mint and enjoy it forever.
This video is my introduction to your channel. Incredible film making! Earned my sub. Your not the 964 Carrera 2's owner. Your it's custodian. In the future, someone you and I will never meet will be enjoying that car long after we are long gone and forgotten. It deserves to be kept in it's original, unchanged form.
Great content! Love to see someone enjoy the visceral feelings an early 90's sports car brings to the driver. I've recently purchased a 2018 991.2 base with 8500 miles on the odometer and that is pretty much my daily driver now. Fun car and fulfilled a dream of mine since being a teenager of owning a 911. It has allowed me to fall in love with a car again after about 10 years off from my last ride in a SAAB 900 Turbo. I had several of those SAABs and still have one in the garage. They evoke the same feelings you describe perfectly with your 964. You get to know and feel the car in a way that is almost impossible with a newer vehicle....they have a personality if its possible. The smell, the feel, the sounds are just something you cannot find in a new car. And yes you are in for the journey with them good and bad. Glad you kept the 964 stock as it should be although if it were mine I'd be strongly tempted to do a tear down refurb and go completely broke doing so. I want to find a 964 also but the prices are insane....my wife already knows the 991.2 will not be my only Porsche....so one day the right one will present itself....after I pay off the 991.2! Thanks for the content and great production quality!
Great video. I'm glad you kept it original. I love all original cars because it represents an era of how cars were. Re the rear wiper, if you're absolutely sure you won't be driving in rain or snow, then remove it. If it's me, I keep it on. Once the rain comes, it always comes in handy.
Love your 911 Misha. Particularly in slate grey metallic, best colour. I sold my 993 a few years ago and had sellers remorse so recently bought an unmolested 964 in dark blue. So much fun, at any speed. Am happy again! Glad you removed the light bar and hope you kept the rear wiper!
Cracking video that captures the joy of driving a 964. Delete the wiper / keep the wiper… totally your call. I deleted. Personally I love the clean lines without and I drive mine in the rain all the time. No problem.
One of the best ‘upgrades’ you can do, is ceramic coating the exhaust system. It helps more heat channel out the exhaust rather than dissipate through the engine bay. Overall cooler running temperatures, better AC performance and lesser wear and tear.
Nicely done. I have a 1993 C2 coupe and enjoy it as it is. No need to try to turn it into something more modern because, as you say, it is a classic Porsche and gratifying to experience as built. I do have oil leaks at the timing chain housings, which is common to 964/993s. Mine has the rear wiper, an original option on the car, so I’ve left it on. With the launch of the 991 and then the 992, the 964 looks properly vintage and compact - almost exotic in its proportions. A very cool car. It looks like yours is slate grey, as is mine - Porsche is bringing it back with the 992.2.
I really enjoyed this video because your love for the classic is so clear. I've just had to put my 86 Targa on sale because of finances and I thought I would keep it forever. It's so nice to see someone else who feels the same about their aircooled car, it felt so famillar.
I have a 997.2 manual and have the same love and passion for it as you do for your car. I've owned a lot of nice cars but I don't have that same emotional connection as I do with my 911. Really glad you're enjoying your car and would love to see more videos of it.
Great video. Lovely car. So good to see the original, and best model: a simple, but perfect Carrera 2 - true sports car. No GTS, GT2, GT3, GT4, GT3RS, RS, Turbo S.
Great video Misha. I had a similar dilemma with my 997 turbo. Thought I might change the wheels and add Bluetooth. Have now removed the Bluetooth as it stuffed up the audio and will leave the wheels alone. Could you also post on “X” as there is a massive audience there for you. Keep up the good work.
Good thing you removed the 3rd brake light, now it looks absolutely stunning! You've done all the right mods to it, and only the trained eye will spot the differences. Maybe a set of wheels, and you'll be done. It really is fun to drive, and I enjoy every meter in my 964 as well. Your coverage really does sum up the 964 ownership and the lifestyle it entails.
Yes definitely keep rear wiper it’s built with car but more importantly and no one has mentioned it has a very useful function! It wipes rain away 🤷♂️👍
Nice! I’ve had one for nearly 2 years now and can relate to what you’re saying. I deleted my rear wiper, put genuine RS glass in and had the rear shelf re upholstered. It’s a good idea to pull the glass out and check for corrosion, I had a new windscreen at the same time and there was some corrosion in both apertures. Can recommend putting the Porsche Classic radio in too, having that is great and keeps it OE looking. Like you, when I first bought mine I thought I’d modify it but I’m loving it as it is, maybe I’ll do some things later when I feel like a change, like the gear shift and LSD, but for now I love it! Yours looks a little lower than stock, does it have a suspension upgrade? I have KW’s on mine, it was the first thing I did and only other big mod I’ve done 👍
Love every minute I spend with and in my 1990/964/C2 ROW. I got mine in April of 2023, looks exactly like yours. My interior is green, exterior is Granite Green Metallic. car is 98% stock. Glad you took the third light off, it had that 993 feel. Keep the back wiper, I think it's part of the history and it should stay that way. I live in USA.
Nice video Misha, thanks for posting. Personally I don’t like the look of the rear wiper, I think it looks old fashioned - and not in a good way! I removed mine after 2 wiper arms broke - they are old and the metal is very weak. I first just fitted a ‘bung’ but thought this looked cheap so eventually dropped the wallet on a non wiper rear screen NOT the RS one but the one that still retains the de-mister wires, very useful I think. You will be told by many that the non modified 964’s will fetch more money - yawn - maybe they’re right but before you know it you’ll be watching the mileage and then all the fun will just drain away…….. It’s your car and your money so do as you please but don’t listen too much to the ‘stock’ bores😂
Great video. I have a 1991 Amazon green 964. Completely stock. Really enjoy the car, a few drops of oil on the garage floor but other than that runs perfect. I know why you love your car! Looking forward to more content!
I bought my '94 964 a few years ago and will also keep it stock. Beyond the material value, this is best driving vehicle that I have ever driven. It makes me smile everytime I get behind the wheel. Keep yours stock for maximum value!
I actually love the rear wiper and would option one on a new Porsche. The way the rear glass sits, it would be nice to have a rear wiper on road trips.
It’s your car to enjoy, do as you please with it or do it up. It’s all down to you. Life is short to live based on what others say or do. Do you and live! I love mine tho the 993. It’s mine and I’ve added my own signature to it. Makes me happy and that’s all that matters ☺️
I live where it rains. I would pay a premium to have a rear wiper on my 3.2 carrera. I know it’s a few hundred dollar option when speccing. I know it disrupts the beautiful lines (a teeny tiny bit). However as a daily car, it’s worth a premium for many to find an old classic with the wiper. FWIW
With all the 964's being used for backdating (Singer as the most prominent example) it will be harder and harder to find clean original examples of the 964. Add the low production numbers of the 964 and you can be sure that clean original 964's will become very rare and therefore valuable. To anyone that owns one, keep it and enjoy it. Most important, don't forget to drive the car. THAT is what they are made for and can do effortlessly for hundreds of thousands of miles.
Delete the wiper mate. Lovely car though, 964 felt so modern to me compared to the 3.2 Carrera I used to own. Must have felt so ahead of its time in period. Also, look at electric AC systems like classic retrofit offers. Big difference in usability.
I had a 964 from 2012-2016. Drove it 30k miles. It was amazing. Sold it for double what I bought it for before having our first kid...but I still regret it. I miss it every day.
I had one for 30 years and had to sell it for financial reasons. Bought it 1989, made some improvements. The most important imho is to make a good suspension upgrade
Leave it as is! 964 ist best classic Porsche, love my 964 C2 in violetblue! Would never sell it. Cheers from Munich. One Thing i think is mandatory to Change is the Suspension: Get a KW3, its a Gamechanger.
I’ve had my 964 over 15 years. First 5 years it was my daily driver. 10 years ago I had a glass out respray. I’ve left the interior as is. Compared to a brand new hot hatch, it isn’t that fast, but it’s not the point. It’s an analog car, every drive is an experience 😎
No need to remove glass to delete the rear wiper. There is a wiper delete using oem parts. Only thing you see from the exterior is a plastic cap coving the hole
I’ve a Carrera 3.2 (1987) with wiper and rear spoiler delete (previous owner) and I prefer the look…I put a bit of Rainex on the rear windscreen and it negates the need for a wiper (I live in the U.K. so rain is our default weather 🥴)

Love your car! Pure c2 964. I personally would leave the wiper. To me it is so German and so Porsche. Form follows function.
964 and 993 are the most beautiful and emotional 911 for sure. Far better than today.
I wish 996 had regular round headlights. The rear of that car looks stunning.
@@89itis I like the headlights on my Turbo, I think they look great!
What a dream... it's not just the car, it's the access to those roads that completes the package... ❤
Keep it original, already a classic. Original cars will gain value. Leave the rear wiper.😀
hate the wiper but agree …
Thank you!
Best off luck.😊

Beautiful 964! Keep it stock and keep the rear wiper. I have one on my 964 as well and it’s just one of those iconic 911 things.
Optioned a rear wiper on our '98 993 C2S Coupe. .. A rear wiper is a classic in Europe...

Leaving the rear window wiper. Classic.
Only in this video, I appreciated much that front bumper of that type of 911
Most probably because the cat is slightly lowered, so you get this nicer looking front :)
There is an aftermarket 3rd brake light. Its placed on top of the rear glass, so the clean lines aren't ruined. Similar to the ones on a 993
Your passion shines through! Yes, definitely keep the rear wiper - yet another differentiator.

Carrera badge is placed too low on the rear deck lid... I assume post paint it was improperly installed
Well spotted, it was indeed repainted after we removed the 3rd brake light spoiler thing
