    I use my shrimp shells to make stock for shrimp and grits. It is delish! I have learned to use as much of whatever meat,seafood and veggies I can.

    Hello Ms. Chris I really enjoy watching your videos....can you tell me wht kind of cooking oil you used to fry the shrimp in and how did you test it to make sure it was the right temperature.....I can never know if the oil is ready or if it's to hot b4 I use it

    Now THAT is HOW a "How To" video SHOULD be done! Nobody trying to be CUTE or CLEVER...just good, sound instruction!! Thank you for a WELL DONE video. I could not get to the subscribe button fast enough. Those were some LARGE shrimp. Was there a NUMBER for them like 25/30 16/20 indicating how many in a pound?     What type of oil are you using? Fresh or frozen and thawed shrimp? My mom used to scoop out Crisco oil from the tub.

    Good morning Ms. Chris. First of all, thank you for the video. I have a question about the seafood stock. If I am not going to make the stock right away, what's the best way to store my shells? Freezer , fridge or should I prepare it right away and store the stock instead. Thank you.

      Charolette Shepherd You should prepare the stock and freeze it. I would not keep the shells at all.

      DD Harrell I got those at a Fresh Market but when frozen shrimp go on sale yes I buy them.

    I use to just pull out the black thing, peel off of the shell then i wash them and make THEM as dry as possible THEN I SEASON THEM, EGG BATTER FLOUR BASE AND FRY RIGHT!! THAT IS BEFORE MY BF WHO IS JAMAICAN SOMETHING THAT WOULD TAKE ME A HALF HOUR NOW TAKES ME OVER 1 HOUR

    Ms Chris, does shrimp smells when you cook it? What is something I can do to keep the shrimp and fish smell at a minimum when frying it? Thanks

      Mr. Kevin while frying I don’t know. After frying if you boil a little vinegar and water it will kill that odor. I can’t stand any lingering cooking odors in my home at all. A lot of people don’t know that old cooking oil produces a strong odor that will get in your walls and stay there. What I always do is make sure any leftover used oils are in air tight containers and I keep my dishes clean. Lingering cooking oils in the long run can swell worse then week old garbage.🤢🤮
