There is something really weirdly sensual about Andy chopping garlic while making eye contact with me but I don't think I should explore that too deeply lol
I love you so much BA, but this inconsistent audio has been going on for a while now and it really is distracting to try and get around it. Hope you resolve it for your next edits and uploads.
I think it’s because they took the lav mics off the subjects and went to just the overhead mic. Having only one source that’s picking up literally every sound in the kitchen makes it hard to mix
Brent McFarland dude I think that’s exactly what it is. A kitchen isn’t a good place for boom only. P much no place is great for boom only or there wouldn’t be so much adr.
I’m sorry but Andy and Chris need a bestie show of them cooking I bet they would have us all rolling Thanks Andy for the awesome soup recipe I’ll try it tonight
God yes amazing dude especially the sweet potato it adds a nice flavor and texture to the soup and the broken rice makes it homey like back to your hometown seeing the fam and just having a din like woah ^_^
I made this for dinner tonight and it was incredible. Highly recommend serving with a beautiful tomato, cucumber, bell pepper, pesto salad as a side. Definitely don't skimp on the ginger, garlic, OR lemon. All are essential to the experience of this delicious soup. I cooked mine a little longer than recommended, so the rice broke down further and gave an even more rich texture. I also used bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs which may have contributed to the spectacular flavor. Garnished with parsley (instead of cilantro, if you don't like cilantro) and scallions which added a zingy and fresh finish. 10/10 would make again
one time I cut my finger slicing, without my glasses. My parents laughed and said if I'm relying on sight to use a knife, I'm doing it wrong. Knife skills are about tucking your fingers and knowing your position of your knife.
If you know how to handle knife properly you won't get cut even blindfolded. Basic knife skills are really easy to learn, anyone can pick it up in an hour
On my new phone, I can hear it well, but I do have to turn the volume up higher than usual. However, on my old phone, I had to use an external speaker to hear some of the videos at all. It must depend upon which device people are using.
With the audio issues, I think it's due to the lack of a lav mic with Andy. The kitchen has these overhead vents with fans and I think that's producing enough white noise to bother some viewers.
@@lavenderfox2430 I'm using a $35 smartphone from Walmart, and my hearing is going downhill. I have no problems understanding. It seems more of a combination of phones with weak amps, something they started doing years ago when hearing problems were discovered, and people not having as good of hearing as they think they do. This cheap phone.from India (called a wiko) has a louder speaker volume than my old galaxy 5 did.(but not a lot louder)
Exactly. Looks like they dump individual mics and use one diratcional mic by the camera. Levels are off: leading and interluding music is loud, main voices are down. Same with latest Morocco video.
Just made this soup. So freaking good. I was skeptical on the sweet potatoes I don’t like things to be to sweet. Now I wish i would have added the entire sweet potato so good.
Sharp knives for a firm cut (I advise purchasing a whetstone to prolong your knife’s life) and use your front knuckles of your index and middle finger to guide your cuts (make sure they are parallel to your knife), that way it won’t cut your finger. Use you thumb on the same hand to hold onto the ginger same with your ring and little finger (but make sure they are behind your guiding knuckles). Your first time may include some shaved fingernails but at least it isn’t your flesh. you’ll get a hang of it. You’ll cut like Andy after your first few weeks of practice.
This was a fantastic soup and such an easy, inexpensive recipe. It’s going into our Sunday night soup rotation. Loved how unique it was and the flavors were super satisfying. Thanks, Andy.
had a cold so I made this with the addition of about 4 cloves to the stock in the beginning, a little more rice, a little longer cooking time, and kept the garlic whole. nice and thick, slightly medicinal with the clove and ginger, comfortingly sweet with the starchy veg (next time I might try carrot). 10/10
thank you so much for including the conversation at the end. it felt real lowkey and genuine, i love seeing that side of entertainers; it rarely happens but it makes them seem so much more relatable as people.
I did this recipe it turned out great. I switched jasmine rice for frekkeh for better flavour and texture, not directly tho you gotta toast the frekkeh in some oil, spices and butter first. I subbed russet potatoes for sweet potatoes, it turned out fine but you probably wanna use small ones or yukon golds. I also added some chicken stock to the water. An idea that I had is instead of adding too much lemon to brighten up the soup, maybe use some lemongrass or sumac, if somebody tries it please let me know how it turns out
Andy, I'm 71 and still love watching you cook. This soup recipe is fantastic tasting, thank you for sharing it. I have one question tho, what's with the holey tee shirts? Are they just comfy old favorites or are you purchasing them like that?? LOL

IDK how these mic levels keep getting screwed up, it's like someone doesn't review it after editing and they just upload it right away.
completely agree :( the voices have been mixed so low, i have to crank it and then all the background sounds are so loud it's straight up jarring.
