Hi pal, i know you like your info, a couple things you may like about phil.
he was in a band before his solo, which was called genesis, which was a very succesful band in 80's
he has also dome some acting in a film or two which was back in the 80's.
Phil sang this song twice in the same day, back in 1985, we had live aid, to raise money for africa, live aid was a
global concert, all live, england, new york, australia and another few countries did some small segments, it ran for 16 hours plus,
as england finished, new york took over and the australia, think i go the order right, it was possible dur to the time zones,
Phil played this song in england, jumped on a plane, flying agaist the time zone and played the same song in new york, two
different continents, in the same concert
i was 20 years old my girlfriend was 18, we sat and watched the whole 16 hours.
That is also, probably the best live performance of all time was created, in a 20 minute section by Queen

Years ago the head and co-founder of Atlantic Records was Ahmet Ertegun. For years when A and R would bring in some new cocky and confident band or artist Ertegun would sit the band down and play this cut. After it finished he would then say something to the effect of "If you guys have something equal to this I'll sign you. Otherwise, get out of my office". This beat drop and drum fill is perhaps the most famous in modern R&R/R&B history.

Watch a little more at the end of his video. I love the nonchalant way he takes his bow like; oh that, that was nothin'
For some more 'angry Phil' try out "I Don't Care Anymore". From the beginning to the end of the song, you totally believe him.

If you like guitars, listen to Eruption Guitar solo, its Eddie Van Halen who is a master playing the guitar. Unfortunately he passed away but the video is left. The only thing better than watching the video was being in the audience when he played live.

Thanks for sharing another great reaction to & appreciation of another epic performance - this time by Phil Collins who creates a magical musical experience for us listeners. Like many of us, I really enjoy great guitar playing & accompanying drum play. For a mind blowing example, please consider checking out Dire Straits -"Sultans of Swing - Alchemy Live". Their lead vocalist & guitarist is Mark Knopfler (IMHO one of the all time great guitarists). As you listen to his amazing riffs, keep in mind that he is not using a guitar pick - it's all fingerpicking. Always look forward to your reactions.Thank you.

It's me again! The one who insisted that you check out Pentatonix, Angelina Jordan, and Prince doing his thing on "My Guitar Gently Weeps." You ABSOLUTELY need to react to Eva Cassidy's version of "Over the Rainbow." If you've already heard it, so be it, but it is definitely something that deserves a space in everyone's brain if you haven't (and I never steered you wrong before).

I believe this song is about him walking in on his wife having an affair with their decorator in the act. " I saw it with my own two eyes" . they are now divorced. The sad thing with Phil as bad as that was, he is now confined to a wheel chair and can't even hold a drum stick with a major back problems.
