I've just recently been watching reactions of younger people to many of the songs that I grew up with. I have heard from so many people after listening to these songs saying, I think I grew up in the wrong era lol :)
Your reaction was priceless... thank you!!!
They don't have concerts like this anymore, because they don't make music like this anymore.
got THAT right fella.
todays era has to be the worst EVER,and i thought the 90's was shit !
Real shit bruh.
Facts
Real music: Welcome!!!
Like them or hate them, go see tool. The precision and dedication to perfection is a life changing experience. This performance reminds me of the effort put into tool shows. Phil Collins is a living legend and it's great to see people still appreciating that.
Now this is a REAL reaction. The kind of respect Phil deserves is immeasurable. #Legend
Right there, that's it, that's the concert, everyone can go home now.
From the looks of it, this was probably his encore song of the night..
@@Nightwatchman53 It was exactly at the middle of the show actually
@@Cashiyado I thought it was the opener.
@@Ryuga-2015 he opend the show with a drum trio actually
I was smiling watching you react to this! I love it when young people take the time to really appreciate the musical genius of those who came before! You are right - the musicians of the 70’s and 80’s brought a lot of passion to their craft! Good luck with your channel! I will definitely be back!
I like how Phil sets everyone up. He looks like a normal office looking joe blow, just casually walking, and singing so effortlessly. Then he goes upstairs, and turns into a beast on the drums. Got to love it!
Got to love Phil. One of the best drummers/singers in the world.
U forgot songwriters too !!! 😘
"They don't make concerts like this any more" Now it's autotune or lipsync! This was 2004
It's more about what kind of artists than about what time in history. Modern jazz artists never use any of that, for instance, while many pop artists used autotune in the 1990s and lipsync (playback) back in the 1960s.
..............and damn mobile phones EVERYWHERE..
@@Isleofskye Exactly.
You will NEVER hear this song the same way again 😂 when that drum beat drops you will understand why this is the BEST version
As an old fart who hit this stuff the first time through, I am SO MANY KINDS of here for the young generations getting introduced to the classics.
True fact; Leland Sklar, the bassist, has looked like freakin’ Gandalf the wizard since the early 80s with that beard/hair rig. Man has had his shit dialed in for years. Check out the “Susudio” video, if you ain’t already.
Stay safe, my guy.
Pirate B I just subscribed to Leland Sklar’s channel. What an amazing life❤️
The bass lines in Susudio are nuts !
Hey from another old fart , nothing like this exists today
Y'all have JUST been SCHOOLED by the GREAT Phil Collins young man!! That EPIC DRUM RIFF...🔥🔥🔥 just casually sits DOWN and LIGHT'S THE PLACE UP!!! Gets me EVERY SINGLE TIME and NEVER EVER gets old...🔥❤🔥❤🔥
this unique once in a lifetime LIVE performance .. WILL NEVER be forgotten, by those who have seen it 😊
The studio version was recorded in 1981 Phil Collins was 29 years old..... This live version was in 2003...he was 53 years old.... he is 71 in 2022....
I'm 75 yrs old and still get goosebumps when I watch this performance by Phil! He's so awesome! I love his voice and so talented on the drums. I'm so saddened that he can't perform any more due to his illness. Phil you are loved so much. Bless you! ❤️❤️🙏❤️🙏❤️❤️
This one's pretty darn impressive, that's for sure. What a great talent this man had. Legendary. GREAT reaction.
I’m so happy so many babies are discovering PHIL COLLINS.
Talk about TALENT you just saw it. But our generation had sooo many truly talented people. Great times!!!!
Collins gets better with age. Soul. Nailed it. ROCKED.
It's so awesome watchin young people today discover some of the best music ever produced. This song is over 30 yrs old and still ROCKS.
Phil Collins is one of my favorite musician legends of all-time! His music will strip your soul! Been a fan since I was 10 when I first heard this song in 1981. Still a fan at 49. #80s4life 🎤🎧🎼🎵🎶🎹🎺❤
Concert was 2004. The whole concert is on UA-cam and it is just as intense as this one song.
S. Turner I have seen phil and genesis in concert and this guy surprised me how great he was live and this why he is called a legend. He has so much passion when singing and the drums don't get me started on that. Only thing can say is wow wow wow to phil and genesis.
That color blue is my favorite color. Hypnotic. Such a great performance.
Megan. You are a Girly. It's PINK for you BY LAW :)
It's my favourite colour with Yellow, as well :)
Killin them drums since the early age of 5. 🥁
Phil lost his hearing in one of his ears and hurt his hand and couldn’t play for awhile. He had apparatuses on both ears. I don’t know how he does it. You look old enough to have experienced watching the Disney animated movie Tarzan. He did the music for that and the soundtrack song. He had many careers..genisis, solo artist, played drums for many bands. His son is a drummer and plays for him now. There’s a singer named Phillip Bailey who was in Earth Wind and Fire who also had a career in contemporary gospel that he did a duet with...she’s an easy lover. Phillip is black and gives Phil a run for his money.
Phil Collins is a LEGEND! One of a kind! Ha! I just heard you call him a legend. You get it!!
Our Phil has collaborated with so many artists down the years. From a bad ass rock drummer with Genesis, to a jazz fusion band called Brand X, to Motown with Earth wind and fire, to rappers. He just loves music, but Motown in particular is his passion. He's a really nice person too. When a rapper contacts him and asks if he can do a cover, not only does he say yes, he says how can I help!
Don't forget his Big Band!
When he collaborated with Bone Thugs and Harmony that had me
I only have one word. PHE-NO-ME-NAL. This performance will Never be duplicated, By NOBODY. PHIL COLLINS IS A LEGEND. By the way. Love your reactions. Keep up the great work.
So glad you did this reaction. Think about how hard it would be to play drums and sing lead at the same time. Love this reaction you did a wonderful job, hope to see more Phil Collins reactions.✌💜🎶
Your reaction was PRICELESS 🤗 I'm 65 yrs old and I still get big time goosebumps when listening to this song. Thanks for listening to my generations music & loving it as I do. ✌️&❤️ my friend 😊
Phil is one of my absolute favorite musicians, songwriters and singers.....the exclusive club of the few ppl who can actually sing and play an instrument and perform the songs they wrote by themselves...
This was from the ‘Finally - The First Farewell Tour’ from 2004
Chester Thomson & Phil Collins -drumduett ....
Phil Collins is a musical legend. But even more important: he is good people. He gives a lot to charity. Thank you, Phil. ❤️
He is bleeding his heart out. Raw emotions. You can feel his hurt so damn deep. Compare this to artists today?
Epic Phil Collins is the Man he plays other musical instruments, Guitar, Piano, & others besides his Iconic Drums, writes music, songs, he is so talented his Voice is exceptional we are honoured to witness all he can do, Brilliant ♥️♥️🎶🎶🎶
He is absolutely a legend!! Great reaction👍👌
Phil played drums for bee gees in one of their concerts.💗💗
Now that's what a concert is supposed to be like. I so wish that I could have seen him in concert.
Awesome reaction bro, I felt the same way watching this vid, I felt so many emotions that I can’t describe it❤️❤️❤️
This live version is perfection
Now, pull up the 1980 Miami Vice version......it's stone cold hard !
You are the first one I've seen react to this that didn't feel the need to stop the video over and over. Thank you--it was wonderful to see you react to the entire performance without breaking the buildup and the anticipation!
This is just scratching the surface of his career, dig into the beginnings with genesis, his work on the album abacab was driving and very progressive, maybe their only work of art after the years with peter gabriel. Yes, phil was also an innovative and well respected drummer all thru his career
beginnings with genesis :);)
Young man, it’s people like you that will carry this music on to the next generation. Teach them well!
Nothing like the oldie goldies that's where you find all the icons legendary singers love Phil Collins happy i grew up in his times powerful performance by all the musicians ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
When I would get upset with my children.. I would start singing this song.. that's all it would take!!
I wish I had seen this concert. But I did get to see him in 2018. And while his voice wasn't the greatest, it was still Phil Collins. His son was playing drums for him and is amazing. Thanks for this reaction. Great as always!
Excellent reaction! Honest, likeable, paid tribute to the OGs, enjoyed the music but didn’t step all over it. Stay with this format
Love your reaction! I did the same thing you did when I watched this. Truly epic
Great reaction. Yes, he is a legend for sure. One of the greatest musicians of our time.
Best reaction....Great Work! New subscriber
His daughter is actress Lilly Collins who portrayed the daughter in the movie The Blind Side. Phil is pretty awesome
Great reaction!!! So happy to see the young people of today appreciating music from my era.
Speaking of passion, your passion for music earned you a follow.
This is the best live performance EVER. Love Dire Straits live, Lynyrd Skynyrd "Freebird" live but this....this is a whole different stratosphere!
Thanks for using my video man.. And uh, the view count is almost a 100 million already .. ;)
One of the very best reactions I've ever seen to this song!! Well done my friend. I'm impressed! Very!!!
Phil Collin’s is the GOAT !
This song was originally released in 1981. This was recorded live in 2004. o this song is nearly 40 years old and still rocks!
Bad Divorce..Cheating…He was pissed! Most people don’t know he is left handed, so his drums are set up exactly backwards. The reason you didn’t see the drums are under the stage, & on Risers timed exactly when he gets to them. He has retractable drumsticks so that’s why you don’t see him reaching for them. No interruption in the flow. And, then he just whales on them!!
This is a great song if you are angry at someone or something that happened & you want to blast it to get your feelings out! 😜✌️💕
Considered one of the best drummers.
This was 2004, this song is 40 yrs old, written in 1980 by Phil in his home studio, he wrote the lyrics, played all the instruments, keyboard, strings and percussion and sang. Incredible huh?
Definitely incredible!
Most people don't realize how hard it is to play the drums and sing at the same time.
The crazy thing is that he was only the drummer for Genesis. After the lead singer quit the band. Phil wanted to be the main singer. And sure enough he reached his goal!
Original song debuted in 1980, THIS performance was about 10 years ago when he was 60.
מדהים מדהים זמר ענק הוא אגדה.הוא איקון❤❤❤❤אהבתי את התגובה שלך👍👍👍🫶🫶🫶
Great react!!! He is a Legend! I've watched other reactions... several times & it never gets old!!! I get goosebumps....every time!!! Lol. Glad to see Phil's legacy will go on with younger generations!!!
You can see the passion on Phil's face. He is a Drummer by nature.
Love Phil Collins ❤️🔥👩🏼🦳 theme song to Miami Vice
Bruh, that was SO good to see someone in your age group {which Im completely guessing, obviously), really, truly appreciate a masterpiece like This; British Artist, Phil Collins, known as one of the most accomplished drummers alive, really doing his thing. Massive respect to you for your musical tastes and choices 🙏🇬🇧🇺🇸
Music: rythm, melody and harmony.
Hip-hopers, rappers and crappy pop singers. Go back home, lock the doors. Don't come back until you can play 5 notes and sing "Mary has a little lamb". With no Autotune fake singing, neither studio fake tricks and tracks.
What you hear is major league in music. You're still in primary school.
And Billie Ellish won 5 Grammys? Music industry is a rip off.
Ahmad! You always bring a smile to my face with your reactions and how much you truly take in the music. I know for a fact nobody is going to request this video by Tami Neilson, but, I promise you, it will blow you away as it does every single time I watch it. I implore any of the fellow commenters to press play and see for themselves as well. She wrote this song about her father after he passed and it's POWEFUL: ua-cam.com/video/Z1fOwQIaI_o/v-deo.html
great and honest reaction straight from the heart. loved it. As for Pjil and this song live .. perfect. Eveything. The arrangement, the staging, the lights in sync, the theatrics, the looks, and of course Phil .. everything . Wow
You need to try and find the movie called Buster. Phill collins plays the role of Buster Edwards one of the great train robbers in the UK. Its amazing, he's a fantastic actor.too.
In just one day, over 4000 views.... I'm really not surprised. Lol
2004 Barclay Paris!! 57,000 blessed people in attendance!
You talk facts King-A.
Almost all performers these days are nothing more than cheap imitators trying to stand on the shoulders of giants. I'ts all autotune and ghost writers now.
I'ts pretty sad.......
Theres another great drummer singer who they call the golden throat go check out thr Eagles live version of Hotel California plus you get Joe Walsh the guitar riff for the song but these concerts they can be broken down and put back up fast and you will get the amazing show you just saw I was lucky to see Phil when he was in Genesis and he played this song just as great as you just saw it but treat yourself and just discovered you keep rocking🤙😍
You should watch the 1985 version of this live. One of the best versions in my opinion
No, sadly they don't make music like this anymore. :( This was totally beyond awesome. Love your reaction!!
Phil Collins musical.genius. great voice and drummer. Dynamic.
Your right no passion. To
He was the drummer from the band Genesis then he became the the lead singer, then went solo. I think this concert was 2009. He was in his 60s I think. He's a freaking legend.
Funny how people like the song all the way to the drum drop. Then they’re faces are like wtf. How can it get better. 😉 but it did
Man I appreciate your reaction to this youngblood. He's an icon. You see why people pay big bucks to attend. Worth 200 or 300 to acts like this throw down live. Sounds better in person than in the studio.
Phil is on his last legs and his career is sadly at an end, remember the genius who once quoted " im not a singer who drums, im a drummer who sings abit!" Try watching his famous track Mama
Great reaction bro,, this was amazing he's the goat straight up.. cA 🖒
Can you imagine being a drummer and auditioning for Phil Collins?
your right about the music phil Collins was the eighties love him
errr,he actually began in the 60's and progressed through the greatest era ever for music.
a musical chameleon, much like Bowie, changing with the times and leading the way, although totally different artists.
I'm British with so many things to be proud of but our music ! oh God our music,is the greatest gift we have ever given to the world.
Proud.
This is from his 2004 Concert Finally Farewell Tour in France. The entire concert is well worth watching it I'm honest.
I am almost 50. I get chills he starts climbing the stairs. It’s entertaining seeing younger generations experiencing the music from the 70’s and 80’s that I grew up with. Check out Martina McBride “ Concrete Angel” Not a fun video but powerful message. Keep up the great reviews
Love your reaction!
His lives shows are amazing
Changed your life didn't it??? 🤯🤯🤯
I was at that concert with over 80,000 in attendance!!
This song is about a divorce he went thru and saw it coming
GREAT REACTION!!! U HAVE GOOD TASTE , MAN !!!!
Fantastic reaction! Just what the performance deserved👍
This song was featured in a Miami Vice episode that was epic. Google it.
That's OG crowd control right there
Great Reaction, My Friend :)
Warms my old heart to see a young person really see and feel the passion of the music we listened to years ago ( for good reason too! }
If you're liking his music so far, check out Genesis-Land of Confusion. I think you'd probly enjoy.
2004
