damn, bob really had great energy here. Wish i couldve seen him before he went all gray! lol. That being said, im SO grateful he is still playing for us all. Peace....
These were my formative years of live GD music preformed by the members. I saw so many Ratdog shows and grew tired of them until Kimock came onboard. That said, Bob is as good as ever right now. Such a blessing to have him Phil and the rest still with us.
I attended this show it was just what my soul needed, as always! I feel like Ratdog doesn't always get the credit their due. Ratdog really held down the Jam Band scene after Jerry died with relentless touring of small cities and small venues! And then again in Furthur with Phil! Thanks so much guys!!!!! And let's not forget my Brother holding things down back stage AJ thank you for all your hard work making this happen! And yes I still miss Jerry every single day!
This show along with an incredible string of others that happened to roll through Phoenix this December are what got me through my first Christmas without my father who had committed suicide earlier that year. At the best venue in Phoenix. I walked up front and rested my elbows on the stage. Was a magical night. Thank you for sharing❤️
missin' Jerry a lot watching this..Bob does a beautiful job keeping it real, so I like the video....and I've been real up close and personal to him and the Grateful Dead! just saying.
Was at this show, one of the first WC Ratdog tours i did was Winter 05. Id seen them MANY MANY times in the North East but never gotten to the left coast to see them. I remember when they did GSET i thought the set was over and then the Scarlet ! was FUCKING AWESOME! I miss Ratdog. Sadly i have no interest in DnC or the larger scale shows going on. I liked Ratdog because of the sound and the smaller venues etc. The bigger shows.... all i see is bad vibes these days. Fights in the lot, bad drugs, younger idiots and none of the elders that taught me how to behave myself when i was young at shows.
I met Bobby ( kinda,I didn't know it was him) I made an ass out myself. I asked him if had seen ratdog yet,? and talked for a few minutes about how good they are. He smiled and said thank you very much. That's when I realized it was him. I felt so stupid all I could do was runaway leaving him laughing
Señor is the greatest version ever played and yes I mean ever . And others will have opinions but mine is mine hands down the greatest señor ever played
I saw the Dead for $5, but $5 would be worth a lot more today. The Dead have been gone for almost 20 years, that $25 back then might be about the same as $46 today. It doesn't mean anybody is being greedy.
sucha a blanketed statement. bobby, the bass player and the sax player all have at least fifteen to twenty year different age spam. music is music and sure nothing will be ever as polarizing but it act like we dont have artist crushing instruments these days is insane.
Gabby K yDefine era.....just enjoy whatever music you like. There is plenty of good music being made out there, it's just we don't have record companies ramming it up our ass anymore. So just go looking, and you will find it.
Does anyone know where you can find the second set? This was such a killer show, you just can't get a sense of how wild the crowd was for Youngblood and Scarlet.
There were bad vibes caused when Kelly sued the GD. Bobby still got on well with him. There is a show, please remind me what show, where Bobby called Matt Kelly out to jam on a tune and Mickey threw like four drumsticks at the back of Matt’s Head while he was playing. There’s a video of the show, it’s pretty funny.
wow. I was on the rail, left side, and saw the guy shooting the entire show. the "cow head" at the start of the video, on Jeff's rig, I learned on 12/9 San Diego, was to indicate shwos that were professionally recorded for a rumored DVD release. well.....i guess that was technically BS but there's no dispute this is pro shot (or at least band-shot) video. I caught this show, 12/6 tucson, 12/9 SD and 12/10 LA. would love to see LA surface.
Why that's "crossed out"...no Earthly and I am waaay too tired to figure it out at the moment...don't think I said anything "wrong" there lol..except "bestest" isn't TECHNICALLY A WORD...but that's besides the point lol.......I feel "censored" and "dirty" now somehow.....HRMPH lol ^-^ Comment STILL STANDS...
MK is good, but why does bob keep buying new guitars? he must be a consumer of Jeff Besos style? he should write a new song about him bezos and biden........
ratboy needs to maybe warmup a dab before his gigtoo bad our modern society likes to give a winning trophy to everyone, irregardless of actuall skills or talent...if ya think i'm sounding harsh.....think about it deeply for just a few "important" moments!
Obama really shafted a lot of people who really believed he was guna change things, the Obama people voted for in 08 isn't the same Obama waging war and violating civil liberties today. I guarantee you they aren't supporting the things he's done since taking office. Just because you vote for someone doesn't mean you support everything he does after that. But anyways, I'd rather sit and enjoy the music instead of having to educate you on how politics work.
thunbs up for who misses ratdog
2005 was an incredible year for Bobby. The Spring shows were insane.
Miss the Rat
Wolf pack is cool too
2002 drum and bass jam wasserman.. dj logic... lane orpheum boston... mind🎉

I was at this show, it was a great show!!

Love the Dog...Between 2004 and 06 the Dog was hitting on all cylinders...best post GD band in my opinion...
I saw them at Memphis In May in '03. Good show. Bob refused to stop when given the sign...

@@covepoint1 kenny brooks on sax, robin Sylvester on bass, Jay Lane on drums, Mark Karan on guitar, Jeff Chimenti on key, and Bob Weir on guitar
Ratdog please come back!!!!
This version of Maggie's Farm is the business.
Awesome band
Mark Karan is a POWERHOUSE on guitar!!! I wish Bobby would give him opportunity to sing once and a while he has a great voice too!
Very true. I always assumed he didn't sing like Kimock, but I saw him with Terrapin Flyer, and he sang an amazing Sugaree and After Midnight.
I saw the Dead for $5, but $5 would be worth a lot more today. The Dead have been gone for almost 20 years, that $25 back then might be about the same as $46 today. It doesn't mean anybody is being greedy.
