oh dear Lord I miss the Ratdog sound.....something about the horn section playing off of Bob. Perfect. Thanks for sharing this w/ the masses...mighty kind of ya.
One thing is for certain, while it appears Bobby his aged - upon listening closer its clear that its only his flesh. Still has the spirit he did back in 72, 40 years ago!
I've been a dead head for 40 yrs i hate that Jerry past away but i m glad to see that the band is still showing its ass wide open i love Ratdfog they kick ass lovr there music2
(Lyrics by Andre Pessis)What if all tomorrow brings is ashes and glass And I can't tell you child, "This too shall pass" If all the world were windswept cold and grey And in the end there's nothing left to sayIf all the silicone, best laid plans Became the master and the fall of man If all the world were baked to hard red clay It's not so far from where we are today Ah well anywayCome on darlin, let's swing n sway Daddy gonna find us a better way And if that better way don't float Daddy gonna find us a tighter boat And if that tighter boat don't sail Grab a bucket, babe, and start to bail And if that bucket spring a leak Little miss, we're up the creekWhat if fire come raining on the hills And mountains made of rusting Coupe de Villes And all God's children find themselves alone And all the poets took to throwing stones Guess we're on our own, no way out and no way homeCome on child, we can sing Daddy gonna grab that ole brass ring And if that ole brass ring don't fit Daddy gonna get to fixin it And if that ole brass ring stay broke Daddy gonna buy you a billy goat And if that billy goat don't bark Give that goat the ole kick startWhat if all tomorrow brings is ashes and glass And I can't tell you child, "This too shall pass" If those four horsemen can't be turned away And everyone's too paralyzed to prayToo paralyzed to pray And the jury's out on judgement day And there ain't nothing left to say Nothing left to sayCome on darlin, we can fly Daddy got a stack of alibis An alibi shot full of holes Little miss, let's rock n roll And if that roll takes us to France Teach them froggies how to dance But keep on dancin sing the tune Cuz We'll be dancin all around the moon And if that big ole moon go bust ashes to ashes babe n dust to dust Maybe it's time for one last rave And we'll be dancing on our own graves' On our own graves
I got tix for my wife and I to see RatDog in Detroit 2014. Can't wait! My colleagues are wondering why I am so happy at work today while I am listening to this. I guess it's too bad that they will just never get it.
Weir sounds fabulous and he almost NEVER lets his health issues effect his playing. He is highly deserving of a great deal of merit for that. Ok, he had a boo boo stage fall down two years ago. That was only one time out of fifty years of excellent performance. He is human and we all make mistakes. No one is.perfect
He also covered Greg' s son at an Allman Bro concert. Only time I'd ever gotten to hear Stormy Monday live. Greg' s son was playing awful that show. I was really upset about Stormy Monday. Bob Weir got on to play with the Brothers and saved the set.
I absolutely loved this! I can't get enough. Hopefully with furthur only having such small summer plans we can get this line up out for a little while!
Rat dog came along and I found them during that 2005-2008 Gap where there was no fish and there was no Dead... They single-handedly saved my live music world during that time, and I saw so many great shows in 06 and 07 with kimock oh my gosh don't even get me started how great that was... I'll never forget that Myrtle Beach show
Steve kimmock is the only guitar player to find a way to reveal the essence momentum brilliance and power of Jerry’s musical masterpieces. He was the one on the Other Ones to kill it. The first phill and friends with Jorma. Killed it. And the best RatDog has ever sounded. Cannot everybody see that. The others sound like cover acts compared to the mastery expressed here. Second set please. THANK YOU FOR POSTING Jerry Saves {~}:=} He’s the one {~}:=} forever
yep, it's quite nice music. weir vs garcia conversations always struck me as odd, they were just the perfect pair together (guitar technical), both so talented. appreciate bob weir is still out playing nice music. the world is better.
Saw them for the first time in Madison two nights ago. I think Ratdog was the only GD/post-GD offshoot that I had not seen. It was a great show. I'm on board.
during the jam at the end of minglewood the camera looks for the lead guitar. shows SK, nope. shows MK, nope. swung around to the man himself. bobby playing the slide like he invented it....awesome camera work....
according to wikipedia, Les Claypool said that Ratdog is getting back together next year because Jay Lane is leaving Primus to join back with the Dog. :D
starchild....ever hear the saying: don't look a gift horse in the mouth? so cool that they are posting this shit here..plus all the other cool stuff they have already posted from tri - stoked about the Ashes & Glass and would love to see it with Furthur too!
there were a couple of spots i heard bob get a lil off but its still dead music by dead heads and its mother fucking bob weir!!!! he will always rock!!! grateful for dead heads!!!
sounds killer Bob but I am impressed great to hear again!!! But B lack M Uddy River should have been ripped I have got to lay some vocals down with you guys!!!
i was saying about to type the same thing before i saw your comment, it does not make you naughty because that fuckin show was in 2011 this is 2012! IT GONNA BETTER IN CYCLES THIS IS THE PEAK FOR ME!
ratdog should play at jerry jam 2013 cuz i went to this year jerry jam and it was off the hook it was in bath new hampshire and new hampshire loves ratdog
This is great stuff, the jazz & punk take of the Grateful Dead. It is a rehearsal and therefore FAULTS. Fly on the wall perspective of nothing to be published. EVEN SO (men lell da gut), RIP Bob Wassermann and this is why DEAD & CO is so fuckin good today.
Great sound! But the drummer was spacin' when it came time to return to the main part of 'Never Stopped'...believe that's why they used to call it DOPE.
i watch this whole when they play this night and it was off the fucking hook man i do wish that ratdog will play at hampton beach this fall in new hampshire and not dark star orchestra
alot of these comments say bobby is iffy and inconsistent, well for one, i as a musician know how damn hard it is too remember the lyrics to every song considering there are so man songs and lyrics, and his singing is often spot on and has gotten much better with age, so i think alot of these people must be talking about the band, and bobs performances were always top notch until the last year or two, so i believe that is completely unfair to say a musician is iffy cause 2 years out of 50 years of music he has slacked on, because of health issues, bob is an amasing guitarist and only people who know nothing about playing the guitar say he cant play guitar, playing bobbys ryhtyhm style is insanely complicated and sophisticated, giving the dead its original sound. but personally i believE kimock is one of the biggest reasons ratdog has been inconsistent in the last tours, mark K is the best and always will be for th dog. weirwolf
jerbear- mane I'm a massive Weir fan, hanging on every note since I started following the Dead in 1974. What he does is wayyyyy beyond the call and, essentially, as is widely acknowledged by many serious music critics and, indeed academics and musical theorists, he may legitimately be stated to have created a new genre of rhythm guitar. A lot of the time he's not accessible to the 3-chord crowd, from which the majority of his critics hail. Also, in the furor and general sensory overload during a live show, his nuances may not be detectable. For years, Heally essentially sabotaged him in the mix - for which he was fired. You have to sit down with an excellent stereo, single him out with an equalizer and study him. I don't know about big halls and little halls, but it's safe to say Weir has played before more people than Lesh since the demise of the Dead, which is the real metric one should use. And Ratdog's played larger venues from time to time. He's still a bit of a screwball, even he'd admit that.
Best of dead in my opinion rat dog jams more than further I've seen plenty of shows to no this and everyone has bad days listen to more than one then give your opinion
I saw this show at a really small venue. It was great, though I was disappointed to be hearing only Dead tunes. In my naivete I allowed myself to expect Ace songs, Cassidy, and mostly things from Bob Weir solo records. But alas it was a facsimile of a Grateful Dead concert, played for the mob, songs that didn't really measure up without Garcia. Mob rules I guess.
oh dear Lord I miss the Ratdog sound.....something about the horn section playing off of Bob. Perfect. Thanks for sharing this w/ the masses...mighty kind of ya.
Really hoping to hear a Ratdog reunion announcement. Time to hang up Dead & Co, and bring back the best post Jerry lineup.
Wolf bros and the Wolfpack has the horns thankfully
"Even So/Deep End/October Queen" doesn't receive enough credit. Superb musical trilogy!
That whole Evening Moods album is top notch, even the Corina.
The trifecta as it was referred to on tour 💀⚡🌹
I love Even so!"Full Moon the Wolfmans at your door!👹😈👁
They sound so good, this group really brings new light to the dead tunes. Wish Bob and Ratdog were still touring. Great Stuff
RIP Rob Wasserman 1952 - 2016
RIP Rob Wasserman. One of the finest to ever stand behind the upright, and the Weirwolf
One thing is for certain, while it appears Bobby his aged - upon listening closer its clear that its only his flesh. Still has the spirit he did back in 72, 40 years ago!
He really does.even now {2017)

Ah well anywayCome on darlin, let's swing n sway
Daddy gonna find us a better way
And if that better way don't float
Daddy gonna find us a tighter boat
And if that tighter boat don't sail
Grab a bucket, babe, and start to bail

Little miss, we're up the creekWhat if fire come raining on the hills

And all God's children find themselves alone
And all the poets took to throwing stones
Guess we're on our own, no way out and no way homeCome on child, we can sing
Daddy gonna grab that ole brass ring
And if that ole brass ring don't fit
Daddy gonna get to fixin it
And if that ole brass ring stay broke
Daddy gonna buy you a billy goat
And if that billy goat don't bark
Give that goat the ole kick startWhat if all tomorrow brings is ashes and glass
And I can't tell you child, "This too shall pass"
If those four horsemen can't be turned away
And everyone's too paralyzed to prayToo paralyzed to pray
And the jury's out on judgement day
And there ain't nothing left to say
Nothing left to sayCome on darlin, we can fly
Daddy got a stack of alibis
An alibi shot full of holes
Little miss, let's rock n roll
And if that roll takes us to France
Teach them froggies how to dance
But keep on dancin sing the tune
Cuz We'll be dancin all around the moon
And if that big ole moon go bust
ashes to ashes babe n dust to dust
Maybe it's time for one last rave
And we'll be dancing on our own graves'
On our own graves

That was only one time out of fifty years of excellent performance. He is human and we all make mistakes. No one is.perfect
Totally agree. Weir has given 100% every minute that he's been on stage. "Blue Mountain" is a monumental achievement.
Randy Potter I'll have to listen to Blue Mountain. I never heard it before. I'll look for it on UA-cam. Thanks!
He also covered Greg' s son at an Allman Bro concert. Only time I'd ever gotten to hear Stormy Monday live. Greg' s son was playing awful that show. I was really upset about Stormy Monday. Bob Weir got on to play with the Brothers and saved the set.
can't wait to see these guys perform in march!!!

The KING FISH GOAT.. REAL TALK. HELPS THE SOUL.

Old Dead Head here. Love these guys. Love this set.
Great job, pairdoc, best Bobby I've seen in a long time. I had other plans this evening, but I'm watching this repeatedly instead!
I absolutely loved this! I can't get enough. Hopefully with furthur only having such small summer plans we can get this line up out for a little while!

There's room enough for big and small festivals........We're all doing the best we can and I applaud Bobby for still playing....."it's all good!"

Finger ease guitar string lube
It's a non-chloric, silicon-based kitchen lubricant. Works great on sleds too.
Speed.
LSD

what is the song that starts at 39 min?
Even So
Love Bob Weir, but outside the Dead, he can very iffy!
This, however, strikes me as quite fine indeed!

He's setting up his delay/echo so its in time to the song.
