I found a 1988 S quarter in mint condition but it doesn't look anything like a proof coin. Actually the fields of the coin looks like the acid etched bust does on a proof coin. I noticed it as soon as it feel out of the machine I get my quarters from. Can not find any information about any other quarters found like that.

I've got a 1988 D Quarter that appears to had a rough life, but it has a few oddities about it. 1) It looks like it was flattened out, not as thick as a quarter, but diameter is a touch smaller, the rim spread out past the knurls but they're still visible, giving it a very thin Yo-Yo kinda look . It has a tarnish on almost like silver and it sounds like silver when jingled. It's lighter than a Quarter, but the exact same as a nickel. Do I have something worth having checked out? Ever heard of a Quarter on a nickel blank, or a silver 1988? I'm stumped, I'd appreciate any help, thanks

I have a???. I have a 1988 that has a ring around the. edges and appears to have a double strike that effects both sides. The P mark is at an angle. Although most the letters just have a double line similar to a striketbrough, T the A. in dollar on the reverse side is doubled. It looks like it has arm's. On the Washington side you can clearly see the same strikethough lines accross most of letters and ghosted Y after Liberty. ? I need help explaining the errors. Thanks, Caprice
