Hi How can you tell when its been struck besides the obvious of course. Will they weigh different? I'm new at this and can spots the odd ones, but then I cant find out how to decide if it is a broad struck or off center,or on a different planchette. Do they weigh different? If so what variance. Thanks for helping. I loved this one because I had some quarters being talked about and could look and paused the video and compare mine. It was fun!

Great video! Thanks for the info. I have a 1974-D that looks like it was cut a bit off center I thought maybe, but really was thinking it was worn down but the edge is not so I was confused. Now, not so much.
One thing, though. For us newbies, could you possibly think about including contrasting examples in your videos. Such as the double die error. It would be much easier to understand what this is if in the video you had included an example of a none double die side by side.

I discovered I have a 1974-S 25c MS69PR DCAM that has the S mint mark punched with a defective old mint mark punch that had actually been used on coins minted in the 40s! So my 1974-S Quarter has a mint mark punched with a punch that was 22 years old already. I have found a few 1974-s 1¢ coins verified to have this anomaly, but I have searched every resource known to me and I can't find a single mention of this punch ever being discovered on a quarter. I don't know where else to turn for help on what I should do or where to look to find out if this has ever been recorded on a 1974-S proof quarter. I am open to any help or suggestions that you may have. The coin is graded by PCGS, but they obviously were not looking for this error when it was graded because it's unmistakable, and this error was only recently discovered on 1974-s coinage.
i have a 74 d where the d looks filled in. Also the back look kind of offset but just barely so probably not a big deal
Hey I wanted to let you know the quarter I told you about that was the size of a nickel in a roll of quarters I had gotten from the bank I took it to a local dealer and another quarter I had saved from the same roll that he measured and said if he was me he would send it to be graded now I wish I had let my laundry dry on a clothes line cause of watching you I looked for these mistakes but for now I will have to wait before I can get the money to get it graded

Hi new member again, I have 3 questions. You talk about the coin microscope is this something you really need? Is there a book that tells you about every coin that you should look for? Finally if you need to get a coin graded: A) who do you send it to, and B) what does it cost per coin? I love watching your video's because you are quick and to the point. Of all the coins people I'm trying to follow and learn from(because I'm new only been collecting thru storage auction buyers for about almost 5 months) in my opinion your the best one to watch. So thank you for what you do. I have collected a large amount of coins since I started mostly silver and older coins. I recently bought the green books to put them in. Now I can put them in by date and mint mark so I can start looking for the coins you talk about in your video's. Ok 1 more question. I have acquired a large amount of foreign coins that are old as well, where should I take them to see if any of them are worth more then face value before I turn them in for american money?

Being offered is a 1982 major error quarter that I and my collector friends consider the rarest of the rare. We searched for quarters on “eBay sold” and searched THOUSANDS of quarters dating back to the first Washington quarter in 1932 and we found none. Here is the reason why.
On the obverse when you zoom in on the right side of Washington, a mystifying and amazing occurrence awaits you. There is a distinct and clear image of a man clinging with his fingers holding on to Washington’s body!
We believe this is a one-in-a million quarter and the ONLY one in existence.
We are starting the bidding at $5,000 and we consider that to be CHEAP.
On the slab it doesn't have the D like you said. Why the non cu co. Shouldn't it be non co core???

The second quarter on this you said was only valuable due to it's mint state but look at the date on that quarter and you'll see the obvious error and why it's that valuable along with it's mint state not just it's mint state.
God and we are also.doubled but it doesn't say it when it was graded

I'm having trouble getting boxes of coin's here lately.
Here in Cali the banks will only allow five rolls of each denomination. That's with a business account. I started hoarding boxes as others hoarded TP. I still have TP. Lol I am still finding really cool errors. They is also a memo from the Broke and Corrupted Gov. It says they are looking for new materials to make our currentcy from. Have a good one.
