@@RyanVince I worked the ramp at Anchorage Intl Airport...jeeze, 20 years ago-busiest cargo airport in the world I was told, doing postal sort and haul it out to the aircraft, and I was a night crew. In blizzards nary the faint-hearted can comprehend, I tell ya there was some nasty coastal storms, moose sometimes.....and thats about it, but it was rough when the wind is anything over 40mph when the temps already below zero F, that and operations were 100% in the dark, except for the two and a half weeks of summer. :D good times. Bunny boots all the way.

The fact they were that smooth in a 739, let alone in this blizzard, props to the people up front!

The technology involved to keep that plane in the air while in a blizzard, it’s a marvel!!!!
pretty much still basic flight mechanics. And of course the instrument technology and communications.
That ain't a blizzard, it is light snow. I guess you have never been North.
Humans have come such a long way, sometimes we take for granted. It’s amazing that this happens everyday, 99.99% flawlessly

In that weather, and in that plane, they might have used autoland.
@@RyanVince agreed some of the roughest landings I have experienced were in clear windy weather.
Butter landing, mad butter landing, huge props to the Pilots and mad respect to grounds crew for being in heavy conditions like this for us.

I live in Minnesota and I've always wanted to fly in during a big snowstorm like this. That or land right after its over and see everything covered in fresh snow from the air.

Detroit, St.Paul-Minneapolis, Chicago, Pittsburgh all have really good weather ops to keep the runaways clear. Lived in Pittsburgh always felt safe landing there during the winter and never got diverted.
They do a good job, I just wish Denver was able to keep the airport going once they see a cloud in the sky

I was there for work in February 2022, l am from Tennessee and stayed near the airport across from the mall if America. I have never been so cold, l remember leaving in a blizzard and dragging my luggage through all the snow. I was just happy to get my rental car safely back to the airport!

Nice video...nice smooth landing. I was in this same situation last April coming home to MSP from NYC and the turbulence was so bad that the pilot had to go around after trying to land so he could choose a longer runway. It was a little tense needless to say, but he did a great job landing the plane.

Delta and nwa merged, they just took the delta name and livery. The nwa aircraft are still flying into msp but in a different color
I was a big NWA flier for years and flew all over the world with them and KLM. I worked for a fortune 50 company. Now I am retired and have many pleasant memories of MSP and NWA. They always got me there safely.

I would be freaked out. I am not a good flyer and I especially hate landings and takeoffs and this landing is crazy. You can't see anything until they're almost on the ground. I will say kudos to the pilots though that was so smooth absolutely unbelievable landing

Landed in similiar condition when I flew into Edmonton back in the 90s. Couldn't see a thing out of the window until we practically touched down, One of the smoothest landings though
Normally when it’s just snowing it’s very smooth air wise
You know one of my biggest pet peeves of being on airplane, especially while landing at night and with low visibility during a storm; is when other passengers have their overhead light on and I can't see shit.

Spring in Minnesota
More like November to April
i remember my 1st seat over a wing.i was amazed how far they flexed in flight.but knew they had to before hand.im sure it has alarmed some passengers before.
The wings on a 737 or A320 barely flex compared to some of the newer built planes like a 787 or A350 too!
The guys on the scopes in the tower are amazing how they can guide the rate of decent and center them on the runway
FYI the people in the control tower don't do any of that. They help sequence and seperate aircraft from each other. Systems on board the aircraft guide it to the runway.
ATC does not do anything besides vector, the ILS or whatever type of approach they’re using does the rest

It was a deice kind of night for sure!
Trickiest part of this landing is stopping the aircraft of slippery runways ... it looked like there was actually a decent amount of visibility on final with what looked like moderate winds.
Yeah they were reporting all sorts of low braking action when we were on approach
