What a wonderful comment. Most people don't think twice about what happens either around or behind the scenes that allows passengers to take off and land safely!
@@RyanVince I worked the ramp at Anchorage Intl Airport...jeeze, 20 years ago-busiest cargo airport in the world I was told, doing postal sort and haul it out to the aircraft, and I was a night crew. In blizzards nary the faint-hearted can comprehend, I tell ya there was some nasty coastal storms, moose sometimes.....and thats about it, but it was rough when the wind is anything over 40mph when the temps already below zero F, that and operations were 100% in the dark, except for the two and a half weeks of summer. :D good times. Bunny boots all the way.
I live in Minnesota and I've always wanted to fly in during a big snowstorm like this. That or land right after its over and see everything covered in fresh snow from the air.
Detroit, St.Paul-Minneapolis, Chicago, Pittsburgh all have really good weather ops to keep the runaways clear. Lived in Pittsburgh always felt safe landing there during the winter and never got diverted.
Excellent video in difficult conditions . It really emphasised just how fast planes fly . Credit to the pilots / crew & the team @ Minneapolis . For ensuring the safe landing off the aircraft .
I was there for work in February 2022, l am from Tennessee and stayed near the airport across from the mall if America. I have never been so cold, l remember leaving in a blizzard and dragging my luggage through all the snow. I was just happy to get my rental car safely back to the airport!
I was a big NWA flier for years and flew all over the world with them and KLM. I worked for a fortune 50 company. Now I am retired and have many pleasant memories of MSP and NWA. They always got me there safely.
Nice video...nice smooth landing. I was in this same situation last April coming home to MSP from NYC and the turbulence was so bad that the pilot had to go around after trying to land so he could choose a longer runway. It was a little tense needless to say, but he did a great job landing the plane.
Where was this plane when I flew to Hawaii back in 2005 flying over the Rockies was terrifying 😮. A huge snow storm, and we got caught in it, going and coming back. The plane was very old too
I would be freaked out. I am not a good flyer and I especially hate landings and takeoffs and this landing is crazy. You can't see anything until they're almost on the ground. I will say kudos to the pilots though that was so smooth absolutely unbelievable landing
Landed in similiar condition when I flew into Edmonton back in the 90s. Couldn't see a thing out of the window until we practically touched down, One of the smoothest landings though
Wow that was a heavy snow storm! May I feature this clip in an upcoming video? I'll be sure to provide a link for viewers to return to your video. Thanks!
i remember my 1st seat over a wing.i was amazed how far they flexed in flight.but knew they had to before hand.im sure it has alarmed some passengers before.
FYI the people in the control tower don't do any of that. They help sequence and seperate aircraft from each other. Systems on board the aircraft guide it to the runway.
You know one of my biggest pet peeves of being on airplane, especially while landing at night and with low visibility during a storm; is when other passengers have their overhead light on and I can't see shit. Anyone can relate if you got a window seat yeah?
The fact that we can do this as humans is beyond what I feel is "normal". I'm sure it's safe and I know the technology works, but still I would be freaking out if I was on this flight.
@@RyanVinceI guess at 13:30 I would be more calm because I can at least see the ground. I still think it's crazy though... those engines sure can take a beating!

Hats off to the ramp agents!
Working in freezing temperatures and snow
Making people come home safely!

Why thats there job
The fact they were that smooth in a 739, let alone in this blizzard, props to the people up front!
It's amazing the 739 can even fly at all!
@@RyanVince seriously like why do airlines even order it....then you have the MAX10?!? Who even thought that was a good idea!
What's wrong with the 739?
@@zgaviation6481 My thoughts exactly, what IS wrong with the 739???
@@RyanVince Why what is up with a 737-900?
The technology involved to keep that plane in the air while in a blizzard, it’s a marvel!!!!
pretty much still basic flight mechanics. And of course the instrument technology and communications.
That ain't a blizzard, it is light snow. I guess you have never been North.
Smooth as silk. Amazing how these crews make it look easy to land in such conditions.
Sometimes rainy and snowy days are the smoothest air
In that weather, and in that plane, they might have used autoland.
@@RyanVince agreed some of the roughest landings I have experienced were in clear windy weather.
Cold air is the smoothest to fly in. It’s more dense. Down in the tropics is where you’ll encounter the worst turbulence.😊
Humans have come such a long way, sometimes we take for granted. It’s amazing that this happens everyday, 99.99% flawlessly
Aviation is amazing with the safety even in crazy conditions!
There is a thing called auto land
@@Averagekylebuschfan that makes it unironically even MORE impressive..
missing a couple 9's haha
Yes sir
it's amazing how with the snow, you can really see how fast the plane is going.
It’s crazy to watch the snow or rain while moving fast!
Butter landing, mad butter landing, huge props to the Pilots and mad respect to grounds crew for being in heavy conditions like this for us.
Amazing landing!
Nice Job, Pilot(!!!) ... Super-Smooth(!!!) 🙂.
Glad you enjoyed the video!

What a beautiful landing wow. Whatever the pilot is making they deserve a raise, if they already got one then another raise is merited
There’s a reason pilots make the big bucks!
Wow what a great landing!! Thank you for showing the whole approach and not just short clips. Well done!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Blessed those pilots who stayed calm during the heavy snowstorm and landed safely to let passengers get home safely in the warm comfortable houses!🎉
Good video. Looks like a typical day in July for Minneapolis! Kudos to the pilot(s) and the airport/runway cews!
It’s always amazing to see airports continue to operate in adverse weather
wow wow wow. so impressive! 737s are hard to butter in perfect weather nevermind a blizzard! hats off to the flight crew! holy cow
It was a really good landing!

They do a good job, I just wish Denver was able to keep the airport going once they see a cloud in the sky
Wow! You can land a big plane in this weather and take off! Yes props to the crew but just unbelievable!
It’s crazy how weather can be overcome in aviation!
When I was a ramper for Allegiant, storms like this were when we had a seriously hard day at work.
Snow storms really sucked on the ramp
Great video.😊

That's not a very bad snow storm, a good one you would not even be able to see any of the lights
It was decently bad, pilots were reporting poor braking while we were en route
between snow and heat i think engine prefer snow
They both present challenges for the engines. Cold you risk ice buildup which can cause issues even more than heat
I'm surprise all that snow didn't choke out the engines.
Aircraft engines can take quite a beating without any issues!
