"Russian components... American components...
All made in Taiwan!!"
😂😂😂
My favorite line in the movie.
Still quote this to this day!
Lev was like “Girl get out the way!!” 😂😂
Same!! The line, the actor, the delivery. It’s definitely my favorite of the whole movie.
I’m stepping outside the way he says it makes me laugh.
Worst Russian impression ever
The Daughter is the actual daughter of the singer of Aerosmith, and they wrote Don't wanna miss a thing FOR this movie.
Liv Tyler
Diane Warren wrote the song... she has written numerous big hits.
What moves me mostly is that Steven Tyler had only then recently discovered Liv was his daughter, which is highly likely to be the inspiration for the lyrical content.
No taxes was the smartest request ever!
Yes it was!!😂😂
just dont pay em

I don’t care what anyone says, but the scene where Grace knew Harry wasn’t coming back still was one of the best scenes ever. It always brings tears to my eyes. The scene with Harry and AJ was so powerful as well. Dammit. I love this movie so much!
Liv Tyler was perfect, especially that scene
I always cry on that screen!
@@naticastrong3490 then when she recreates it with her real Daddy in the music video, chills
When Harry says to AJ I love you, you were always like a son to me, man that can make any grown man shed a tear
I can't even describe how this was in the theatre. It was so much fun. And, of course, I lost it when she says "Daddy no!" 😭😭😭😭
Continued prayers for Bruce Willis
😂😂😂😂
It's not real you know
@@-M0LEyou mean his dementia and rapid decline in health isn't real? Which is what Michael meant
His dementia that was confirmed by his family now in 2023 is very real.@@-M0LE
@@-M0LE I think they are referring to the fact that Bruce is suffering from declining health and dementia. He had to leave acting entirely at this point.
I've been feeling pretty shitty about humanity lately, but when you said during the rocket launch scene "I love the human race", it actually really hit home. I know it's a movie, but we really are capable of such amazing things when we can put aside our differences and work together.
Exactly my thoughts! We are amazing and when we pull together it's the most beautiful thing imaginable!
Quite the contrast to a film like Se7en: "Ernest Hemmingway once said: 'The world is a fine place, and worth fighting for.' I agree with the second part."
I worked for the post-production house that did the special fx for this movie. We were particularly proud of the results. 😀 Not bad for being over 20 years old!
The Russian Cosmonaut is played by the brilliant Swedish actor Peter Stormare.
He's been in many movies, Swedish and American.
In Hollywood movies he often plays a Russian character, like in Armageddon and Bad Boys 2.
In Jurassic Park 2 and Minority Report he plays a Swedish character (and has several lines in Swedish).
16:06 - That actress is Liv Tyler. Steven Tyler wrote this song for the film after they announced the casting for her role. He was so excited for his band (Aerosmith) to perform along with his daughter. I will just say this about her performance, not only here, in every film she knocks it out of the park. I had the pleasure of meeting her once, and it was almost eerie the grace and silence that entered the room as she did.
This movie hits home for me. When i was a kid my dad was a driller on the rigs. Had his oen company with my grandpa. Stat line. I was his only child . He passed june of this year. This movie will always be hard for me now
One of the most moving scenes ever shot was Harry changing places with AJ through Harry telling Grace goodbye. Love the pictures of the lost at the wedding as well. Great touch.
I lose it every time AJ tells Harry he loves him. Absolutely lose it. Because those two really did care a lot for each other.
Aj’S reaction to Harry taking his place is what always makes me lose it even more than I was already
Yes,i cry each time😢😢😭😭😭😭😭
This movie ending hit all of us in the feels back in the day!! We missed you Leo!! Glad your back!!
Well, not "all". The movie always had its fair share of haters.
Ben Afleck's commentary on this is hilarious "I said wouldn't it make more sense to train the astronauts to be drillers than drillers to be astronauts. He just told me to shut the fuck up."
The ending still makes me cry ill admit
Two asteroid movies came out in 1998. The other was called Deep Impact. It has some big stars in it as well. You might want to check it out. Armageddon is the better of the two in my opinion but Deep Impact is a solid film.
Being hyper sensitive to American cheesiness as seen in Armaggeddon, I always preferred deep impact
Deep Impact was also more scientifically accurate and a better drama in my opinion
@@matheusemd Yes I agree. I just find Armageddon more entertaining. Armageddon is what one would hope to get from a Fourth of July weekend opening American blockbuster film.
I love them both. Deep Impact is the serious one and Armageddon is the fun one.
Space has always been something that fascinates me. Every time I watch this movie though and it comes to the launch, I picture myself in one of those seats and Im instantly filled with terror. I could not imagine it. There's no turning back, you're going completely into the unknown. You don't know if you'll see the people you love again, or feel your toes in the sand again, or smell fresh mountain air. As much as I am in awe of the wonders of space, I have no shame in admitting I would be far too afraid to take that venture.
You saw two people and said man the cast is stacked. Just hold your horses bc you haven't seen nothing yet. This movies got one of the best cast which I think adds to why the movies so great.
Fun fact: the scene where Liv Tyler was saying goodbye to Bruce Willis was so emotional that it sold Steve Tyler [Liv’s real dad] to supply the movie with it’s soundtrack.
No.1 movie of 1998 and Michael Bay's biggest film of the time.
Co-written by J.J. Abrams (his first-ever blockbuster film).
Producer Jerry Bruckheimer making another high-powered feature.
1 of 2 films about Earth being caught in an falling cosmic phenomenon.
The first was "Deep Impact" (Directed by Mimi Leder) which came weeks earlier
and was more dramatic.
But Armageddon was a major blend of genres that Bay could play as he did with
Bad Boys & The Rock.
For Bruce Willis, it was a decade since the original "Die Hard" had made him a movie star.
Also it was about a year before we would see his best dramatic performance in M. Night Shyamalan's The Sixth Sense.
The hugest ensemble cast you could ever hope for.
Some known, some about to be known and a few you didn't expect.
One of several songs by Aerosmith on the soundtrack "Don't wanna miss A Thing"
became another classic for the group, their first-ever No.1 hit and one of the greatest
movie songs ever.
All in all, you were not going to miss this masterpiece at the end of the 1990s.
RIP to Michael Clarke Duncan (Bear),
This is a movie where you know the blockbuster cheese is manipulating you, but you don't care cuz its alot of fun :D
i highly recommend Independence Day (1996)
"The song "don't want to miss a thing" Was performed by her real life dad... Steven Tyler of Aerosmith
That's some genuine wisdom at the beginning with that talk about having a POSITIVE MOOD. 🙏
"It's my mood...". Yes! Eleanor Roosevelt said "No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.".
You gotta do "Deep Impact" now... A showcase of when Hollywood produces two movies of similar concept and release them close together.
This movie is a blast. Back when you can have a lot of fun and drama and it works.
I cried to this the first time I seen it, and still shed a tear everytime I see it.
Still hits me when Sharp asks Harry to swear on his daughter's life.
Whole movie hits
I remember seing this in the theater and the scene where NY starts falling and you can hear the screams as people fall WHILE they're still inside was freaky. They scream on one side then on the other side. If you are watching with surround sound headphones?? You know what I mean, too.
The scene between Grace and Harry makes me cry every time. I love this movie.
Oh man Leo, the point about ur mood was absolutely something I needed to hear today. Thank you!!!
yes, this cast was stacked! lots of familiar faces throughout this film. also, one of them was liv tyler, who played grace, harry's (bruce) daughter in the film is the daughter of steven tyler (lead singer) from aerosmith. i saw your reaction to aerosmith's song "i don't wanna miss a thing" a while back.
Speaking of Inner space that's a great movie. Innerspace with Martin Short, Dennis Quaid, and Meg Ryan. Would love to see you watch that one. Love your content my man!
Best reactor on UA-cam ! Love your reactions to all the crazy cast members, this movie was loaded
Hey Leo, you've seen Grace before. She's actress Liv Tyler, and she played Arwen in the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Her real-life dad is Steven Tyler, lead singer of Aerosmith, who had 4 hits in the soundtrack, including the movie's theme song 'I Don't Want To Miss A Thing', along with 'Come Together', 'Sweet Emotion', and the much-underrated 'What Kind Of Love Are You On."
The Taxi Driver at the beginning is also a good comedian
Mark Curry.
@@TheConnonedrumyes thank you! I knew his face but forgot his name...been a while
@@debbyemerson3877 no worries
I love watching movies with you! You attitude is infectious!!!
Keep your positive energy. That’s the right attitude!
Imagine the swagger you'd be free to walk with coming back from that mission.
When I find out Bruce Willis made the suggestion have Michael Clarke Duncan cast in the The Green Mile was lost for words he totally made the right call
One of my all time favorite movies, such a great ride “stuff keeps going wrong!”
21:08 ''I've seen him in a few movies before ya'll, what did I see him in?''
To give some insight, the man playing the Russian astronaut is Peter Stormare. He's a fairly popular character actor among various things: 204 to date according to IMDb. I can't say for sure what you may be recognizing him from, although I'll point out some of his more notable roles. I'll just mention the titles, nothing more as to not spoil anything.
The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997)
The Big Lebowski (1998)
Minority Report (2002)
Bad Boys 2 (2003)
Constantine (2005)
22 Jump Street (2014)
John Wick: Chapter 2 (2017)
I think the first thing i ever saw him in was the show "Prison Break".
I saw this in the theaters as a teenager omg ever girl was in love with Bruce Wilson at the end
“I want to go shopping” “Me too!!” It gets me every time!! 😂😂😂
in the beginning he says this stack cast and he forgot mark curry one of the best comedians just like eddie griffen
“…but we ain’t goin nowhere cause this is a T-R-A-F-F-I-C J-A-M!”
Deep Impact and The Day After Tomorrow are great too!
Everytime I watch this movie my anxiety is allover the place but when harry changes places with Aj and gives him his blessing to marry his daughter,I cry when he says goodbye to his daughter Everytime. Love this movie pluses the all-star lineup was perfect casting..
Leo "Goin to town!"...(( ✊🏽 )) 🤣
I saw this film in the theater. It was a very good experience. Great reaction bro! 👍🏿
One of my all time favorites. I have probably seen this movie over 50 times. Hope you enjoyed it a much as I did.
The way you describe how you handle your emotions and moods. I absolutely love and try to help friends with that very same advice.
Speaking of everybody in this movie, one of the shuttle pilots was Marshall Teague. Probably best known for his role as Patrick Swayze's martial arts rival in "Roadhouse."
Damn never put that together and I’ve seen both movies dozens of times. Cheers to you.
I saw this one in the theater when it first came out. I love this movie, goofy as it is. It's just so well done. Great cast, fun script, good dialogue, pulls on the emotions... just a good time at the movies. Glad you enjoyed it.
Another movie with similar vibes - world in danger, great visuals, scientifically goofy but loads of fun, with a solid cast - is 2012. If you haven't seen that, I think you'd enjoy it. From some years later, on a much smaller scale, San Andreas, starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, is also fun.
Yes 2012 is a good movie, I actually really like knowing that movie is spine tinglingly freaky but really good
Popping in to hit the like button to support the algorithm, watched on Patreon twice 😂 loved this movie, great reaction 💕
Even though they got every single aspect of the physics of space wrong, this is still one of my all time favorite movies.
I fought in Iraq for 4 years and I often think (usually around April 15th) that the least they could give veterans is that they no longer have to pay taxes.
When the first time you watched his movie, that ended was so damn sad.
That’s mans not a salesman that’s your daddy I’m literally crying just thinking about that scene
This movie hits everytime. Such a good one. Welcome back Leo!! 🤟🏽🤟🏽🔥🔥🔥
"22 miles per hour?"
Yup, 22 miles per hour. 🤣
My favourite line in this film is 'Can you stop riding the nuclear warhead' lol
You are a hero to me Mr Video. You bring joy to our lives.
This cast was definitely stacked!! Love Love Love this movie and your reaction to it!!
It's basically Mt Everest hitting earth at miles per second. Unbelievable energy. Everyone has heard of tsunamis? Big asteroids and comets cause the same thing but on land...locally anyway.
I watched this on my 21st birthday with my 2 best friends and a bottle of vodka ...
I didn't want to watch it!
I thought it was dumb...
30 minutes in...
What if the world was ending?
What would you do?
You know what?
I love you guys 😭
I gave an immediate 👍 with just the tag. 😂 and the mood intro. Fabulous all the way as always Leo. Thanks. ❤
“What’s the point of being negative.” Amen! Great reaction man.
This is now one of my favorite reactions I have seen . I went through all the emotions .... Thank you for this and I hope you have a great day!
One of my favorite movies of all time. From the cast, to the soundtrack, to the feels. This movie had it all.
Not sure if anyone’s mentioned it yet, but “I Don’t Wanna Miss a Thing” was written for the movie. I believe Aerosmith was shown a preview/early screening of the film. Lead singer Steve Tyler got emotional watching his daughter, Liv Tyler, saying good-bye to her movie dad/Bruce Willis.
This movie is SO fun! I've always loved it. The cast brings *everything* to sell the madness of the situation. Always makes me miss Michael Duncan Clarke, though. 😢
I've never been to the Moon, but I've been to a live rocket launch. The rocket was headed to Mars, with the Insight Lander, which measured Mars quakes and listened to the wind. My husband (who looks a bit like Patrick Stewart/Captain Picard) lead the engineering team, that designed and built the solar arrays, which powered the Insight Lander. Somewhere on the lander there is a little plaque, with my husband's and others' names engraved on it. So, in a way a piece of my husband is still there.
Another time, a photo of him and his design team was carried up to the International Space Station, after he helped design some solar array hardware, for the research station.
He wanted to be an astronaut, when he was young. He was brilliant, athletic, even-tempered... I think he might have had a decent chance, but the loss of his hearing in one ear, when he was little, made that dream impossible. In his own way, though, he managed to come closer than most to touching the stars. ✨
Armegeddon gets me every time🥺🥺
Good 'ol 90's movies that were made for fun and enjoyment of the audience
Love you man! keep up the great work! You have great mood and demeanor and I love everything about it!
OH how I've missed watching your reactions!!! I LOVE this movie and I am excited for this :) Merry Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love you dawg
Your reaction is pure gold
I’m with you on the positive attitude!! I only get grouchy when I’m sick…lol!
As always, a fun watch a long!!
"Saddam Hussain is bombing us!" The Twin Towers are hit.😢 This 1998 movie is 3 years before 9/11.
🎵"I'm leavin' on a jet plane. Don't know when I'll be back again."🎶
My apologies if someone else has said it, but another noteworthy cast member was Jason Issacs. He looks completely different as Malloy's dad in the Harry Potter series, Lucius Malfoy. He was also great in Event Horizon.
A friend of mine, growing up in the 70s father work for Aerojet out of Sacramento, California, and he has parts sitting on the moon that are there to this day that he made with his own hands
Love your happy, good mood! You're an awesome reactor too! 🔥
I cry every time when I watch this movie
I love this movie!! Now, if you haven't seen Deep Impact starring Elijah Wood and Morgan Freeman. You should definitely watch it. It has the same kinda of theme as this and came out around the same time.
You always make my mood a great one! You make everything better 😜
My ugly face cry movie 😭😂😂😂
Gets me every time!
Global Killer is Micheal Bay's glorified term, no doubt. In truth an Asteroid like that is called an E.L.E. - Extinction Level Event. I learned that for the first time watching the OTHER asteroid movie Deep Impact, which also came out in 1998
I think that's one of my favorite lines I've heard in a movie before. "American components Russian components, all made in Taiwan"
GREAT movie! 💚
This movie is always a good watch! Michael bay gave us a great time at the movies
You're just down here "going to town" 😆. I can't with you 🤣
This movie, green mile and Shawshank redemption will always be 3 of my absolute favorite movies
Finally! SO GLAD you reacted to this, a 90s classic. I love your reactions, it's good to see you again. Don't know if there's a better disaster movie from the era, but for the 90s I think you'd really like the original Flatliners (don't even go near the 2017 remake) and you should do Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, that one's got a hint of epic, good heroes, plus also Alan Rickman :)
Since you enjoyed Armageddon, Watch Deep Impact next😈🔥🔥🔥
Merry Christmas little bro
Hi Mr V great to see you. Looking good. Love love love this thank you. Hope you've been having a great time and Bella. Hugs to her and love to you and your family.❤
Man this is one of my favorite 90s scifi movies 🥰
I Love this movie! ❤❤❤
Walk Hard is so good I can't wait to see your reaction to that!
I haven't seen this in awhile and yeah, you're right, the cast was amazing!
This is one of those awesome action/disaster movies that doesn’t take itself too seriously, and is just supposed to be super entertaining as well as funny. And when things do get serious, the serious parts tend to work too! Especially that really sad scene at the end when Harry says goodbye to Grace
