In this video I do a review on the Milwaukee M18 Quick-Lok Edger attachment. The edger attachment is designed to cut and maintain lawn edges along paved areas such as sidewalks, driveways and patio's etc. The Milwaukee M18 Quick-Lok is a versatile attachment capable cordless battery operated outdoor power equipment system designed for maintaining landscaping. Leave a comment down below and let me know what you think of the Milwaukee M18 quick-Lok edger attachment and what battery powered tools you are using in your lawn care business.
Thanks for the review. I never would have thought of using a scuffle hoe to get up the overlapping grass that you cut off the edge. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
No problem. Yeah that scuffle hoe is the perfect tool for that job. It slides underneath the overgrowth, while it simultaneously also cuts any trouble areas along the edge. Then flip it upside down to act like a rake to move debris out of the way. Thanks for watching.
I was on the fence about purchasing the attachment but after your video, I will be purchasing it today. Thanks for your review.
No problem. Thanks for watching.
The pole saw attachment paid for itself in one job. Love it even though it's only used a dozen times a year
Nice 👍 Thanks for watching.
I think I’m sold on it now! I can run the Milwaukee as the edger/bush trimmer and my gas powered as my main weed eater 🤙
Thanks trevor for the review
I don’t know who Trevor is but you’re welcome! 😂 Thanks for watching.
Looks very nice. Our ego edgers have been sold and lasted 4-5 years already. I'd like to try this one
Nice! I’d like to try the ego stuff as well. Thanks for watching.
@@LawnCareBusinessSuccess yes sir! Thanks for sharing.
Try it on a curved sidewalk. Straight lines are easy with it, but you need to show us what it can do with sidewalks that have almost 100 degree angles. Specifically the curved part.
I was thinking about to buy an attachment edger for milwaukee but I had to see it in video or in person and see the results if it works or not but your video did impress me tho I'm going to buy me one
It works great. I have not used my gas edger at all since I got the Milwaukee. Thanks for watching.
Just got this special buy combo kit trimmer edger blower battery charger. Trimmer and edger are so easy and quiet and work great. Used one bar on the battery for my yard trimming and edging. The blower is ok for grass clippings but weak for clearing edging mess. I basically got the blower free in the combo kit. Maybe it will be a good camp fire stoker.
Your battery might be low. It works better with full battery.
Spot on the blower is for light work, buy a gas powered redmax or stihl, echo blower for the heavy duty yard-work.
Seems as though you could flip the trimmer sideways and edge that sidewalk alil quicker.. but I'm not there I can't really see how thick it is.. just picked up the trimmer at the flea market for 80 beans.. out of box, no strap or battery.. LOVIN IT. Chainsaw & hedge trimmer next. Hopefully a blower attachment comes out..
👊😎⚡️
String trimmer won’t leave that defined edge when establishing a new edge. I always use a blade edger to cut the new edge then maintain it weekly with the string. Thanks for watching.
The strata across the street has a lawn care company show up every week. A small army of workers show up and they don't even edge anywhere. All there machines are super noisy and annoying. They don't even notice dry grass from sprinkler not working.
Unfortunately many stratas just hire the cheapest bid each year and always put the contract up for bid each year. As the saying goes “you get what you pay for”. Thanks for watching.
Mine will overheat and stop after 10 minutes. A new battery will get it going for a short while but then it stops. The motor itself is overheated but it doesn't feel hot
Interesting. I have heard others say that. Mine has not done that ever though. Sounds like thermal shutoff protection to protect batteries. I’m in a mild climate here in the pacific north west and all my properties are mostly small so maybe that has something to do with me not experiencing any overheat shutdowns. Thanks for watching.
Be sure to use HIGH DEMAND batteries not the typical XC ones. That’s most likely your issues
Had the same issue with 3 different power heads. It happened more often with the 12.0 HO batteries, and a little less often on the 8.0 HO batteries.
How has this held up?
I wonder if this Milwaukee edger will work on saint augustine grass? 🤔
I don’t see why not. It’s very powerful. Surprises me every time I use it on over grown edges. Thanks for watching.
What's going on Julio. From 1 to 10 how would you rate this Milwaukee edger and how would you rate the Echo 2620 edger from 1 to 10?
I’d say the Echo is a 9 and this Milwaukee would be 7 or 8. The echo being gas is more powerful but with that being said the Milwaukee has had more then enough power for any of the new edges I’ve cut. If your cutting a new overgrown edge it will use more battery then if your just doing say weekly maintenance over a already cut edge. So if your doing lots of overgrown edges you will either need more batteries in case or better to use gas. For me where I’m cutting just an occasional new overgrown edge or taking it out to redo already previously cut edges then it’s fine all day on a single 9.0 battery. Thanks for watching

Thanks for the intel!
Do you keep it on fast or slow speed when using it?
I usually always keep it on turtle mode. Thanks for watching.
What is the hand tool you are using afterward?
its just a weeder tool to cut down weeds you could just use a square nose shovel regular or narrow ones and when you get a pile of dirt/grass you could shovel it directly into a trash can or drop cloth and carry it away
Have compared this MILWAUKEE to the HUSQVARNA 520iLX?
No I haven’t. Thanks for watching.
I have a Ryobi 18v dedicated edger [not quick-lock] and the blade spins "counter clockwise"....so if a user is not careful the unit kicks backwards towards the user and could posssibly injur cut the foot of the operator if not carefull....the milwaukee turns clockwise so tool pulls away[forward of the operator] where there is no danger.
The difference in rotational direction is choosing between the risk of injuring yourself or injuring passersby and damaging windows and cars.
Hey there, I've been looking into going electric here since time now. But I have one concern about the run times. Just a quick question how much battery did you use while edging? Thanks
I can’t remember exactly. I know I was initially worried about it and so waited to do that job at the end of the day once I had all the other scheduled lawns done. It surprised me though and didn’t actually eat up as much battery as I would have thought. I’ve since used it many times now with no issues or worries about battery. The Milwaukee stuff is actually quite impressive for how efficient it is. Thanks for watching.
Any decent ranch style home will get plenty of run time, unless you're a professional landscaper and own your own company like Julio, go with gas powered redmax, stihl or echo opq.
What is the scraping tool called?
I think it’s called an “action hoe”. Thanks for watching.
How long does the batteries last ?
They discontinued the 9amp hour I bought with a trimmer, blower kit, so I use the 8amp now and you get about 23 minutes on it and the 12amp hour is a beast it will run for ever, hope that helps.
It’d be nice if it was possible to just buy the power head without the trimmer.
Yes it would be good if they made the power head available on its own. Thanks for watching.
You can sometimes find the power head alone on eBay, used or new. That's how I bought my second power head.
Can you put the bed redefiner blade on this unit? Anyone tried to?
Not sure but I do have the new bed redefiner attachment that I will be testing out soon. Haven’t opened the box yet though. Currently testing the new reciprocator attachment. Video coming soon. Thanks for watching.
@@LawnCareBusinessSuccess I have the edger, ordered the bed redefined blade - guess who ever tries it first we will post our finding here 😁
The housing is a little tight and due to minor flexing, the bed blade will scrape on the edger housing. ***if*** they spin in the same direction, SHAME ON MILWAUKEE because all they doing is providing it a bigger housing and marketing it for $300!
Awaiting your revolution test
I bought the re-definer, $300 waste ! It's the same thing as the edger except bigger housing and blade Ofcourse, just as i expected! SHAME ON MILWAUKEE!
@@pdiddy823they seem to all be like that. Even my ECHO gas unit the bed definer is essentially a edger with a different blade and larger housing. You be better off getting the redefiner and putting and edger blade on it if your trying to save money.
Was happy until a bearing seized after less than ten uses.
Not lying I tried the Milwaukee M 18 trimmer and it was horrible the battery run time was nonexistent and the head broken one day every one of the cruise and I cycled it true that they had the same things to say about it it is not professional it is actually garbage
I disagree. When I first got it I was only really using it for hedge trimming and I loved it so much I stopped using all my gas hedge trimmers. This year I decided to try using the first gen string trimmer I have plus the quick lok for edging. I think it’s great and I’ve been using it the past 2 months now almost every day except for rainy days. For weekly maintenance it has more then enough power and I can get through the entire day on two 9.0 batteries for the string trimmer. With the blower I use a 12.0 battery and again can get through the day with power to spare. The blower is not as powerful as a gas blower but for weekly maintenance it does the job fine. My only real problem with them is that they are not rated for using in the rain. Thanks for watching.
@@LawnCareBusinessSuccess That is really good. I want it desperately for it to work for my company. It had plenty of power however I was able to drain a 8ah in about 40 minutes on economy mode. Another guy ran down a 4.0 battery in about 12 minutes not sure which mode. No lie the head of the trimmer broke at the end of the first day the plastic tabs snapped off. I am a huge Milwaukee fan have more tools and batteries than I am willing to admit and really am tired of gas trust me just today a carburetor started to mess up but this one was a miss for me.
The trimmer head I replaced on mine with an echo speed feed 400. That is the best trimmer head on the market no question. You also have to make sure to be using only high demand or high output batteries with the yard tools.
I disagree. Used mine commercially for 3 yrs and still running strong.
