great work. I stopped using the double sided tape - you're right, it's a real pain :) by the way the Let's Resin silicone - I do by volume. as there's the same volume in each bottle, they it must work by volume too - t hat's my theory. I never weigh anything, again I agree with you - easier to go by volume. That's a great mould, nice job :)
Thanks! 😊 I didn’t mention it in the foreword, but you are correct about being able to use volume for the Let’s Resin silicone. I weighed the whole bottle before starting just as a precaution. I think using weight would be more useful if you aren’t using the whole bottle, just for accuracy purposes. Since I’ve only made like 3 molds I didn’t realize it at the time I made the video (it was only my second mold ever 😅.) Thanks for pointing this out for other viewers. 😊
@@sunfiredesigns You're welcome. I made a mould like that recently and it's actually a lot harder than people think. You made a great job of it :) I'm glad I subscribed. your resin techniques I've been seeing are stunning, I still can't do those :)
Thank you very much for taking the plunge and sharing how to do our own silicone molds, Very understandable and precise. I do admit I tried this summer with fail, I didn't work fast enough. lol. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much for doing this video! I've made some molds, but they aren't sparkly like all the others I've seen. I skimped on the glass was my first mistake 😂 gotta save a dime and end up spending $100 more 😉 that's my story.
AWESOME JOB SIS!!! Sorry the bowl idea made it uneven, but I really like your new housing technique. Easy to find plastic to cut 😊. Also using the glass filler for the crystal effect is GREAT! Love it ❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks so much sis! 😊 And I think the reason it didn’t work was that the bowl wasn’t flat enough. It probably would have worked better if I had found a flatter bowl. Live and learn!

I want to say I used about half, but I honestly don’t remember exactly. I for sure didn’t use any more than 1 lb. I am going to be trying to make another mold soon and I’ll post the video if it works out. I’ll be sure to include that then.

Thank you Ruthann! ❤️ My first attempt wasn’t great either, but it gets easier once you know what adjustments to make. You can do it!

Glad it was helpful! ☺️ It’s definitely a trial and error process. I totally get what you mean about spending more - Story of my life 😂
Thank you so much for posting this.
I have been eagerly awaiting it lol.
Now to give it a try myself
Thank you! ☺️ Good luck with your attempt, you’re gonna do great!

So cool! Thank you for doing this.
Thank you ☺️
FYI, sealing with hot glue is much easier than using silicone glue. The hot glue comes right off. Hope that helps.
The silicone glue actually was a piece of cake. 🙂
Love it thank you for sharing ❤
Thanks for watching! ☺️
I've been wondering how to make this type of mold. I was going to make borax crystals in a flat bowl. Thanks Jen.
Thank you ☺️ I was just too lazy to make the borax crystals lol. I’m sure you could do it that way too, I’ve just never tried.
What resin did you pour for that? It was crystal clear! Thanks for this tutorial ❤

Oh. Meant to ask. I see this putty comes in 1 lb. Did you use all of it to make this mold. I was just wondering how much I need to order :)
