I’m never able to find the words to express the pure, seething rage and contempt I feel towards the frauds who profit from the grieving and most vulnerable. I remember a case roughly 15 to 20 years ago where a “psychic” called Sylvia Browne absolutely devastated the mother of a kidnapping victim by telling her (on national TV) “she’s not alive, honey,” “she’s in water” and described “seeing” her blood-stained clothing. Now, it had been more than a year and a half since her disappearance-similar cases and historical precedence meant the likelihood she would be found alive were _very_ slim-so a fraud like Browne would have felt on pretty safe ground making such a statement. The mother died shortly after of heart failure likely brought on from grief. Her daughter was found alive several years later. For me, these frauds are just unforgivable. There are no words to describe them.
If it makes you feel better, my ex used to work for a major airline in the San Francisco Bay Area. And guess what, Sylvia Browne was a passenger on a flight, and she had gotten stuck in traffic. Entitled as she was, she had her son call the airline and tell them to hold the plane for her since she was delayed by traffic. My ex told the son that nobody is entitled to having the plane held for them. In anger, the son asked him "do you know who my mother is??" My ex said "yes I do, and if she were a real psychic, she should have predicted the traffic jam and left home earlier."
I listened to her bomb live on the radio (coast2Coast AM) with George Noory when they had the Sago Mine disaster. I was skeptical but wanted to believe in this stuff but that was the last straw.
Houdini gave his wife a code word he would say from beyond the grave if he could. His wife visited psychics for years and none of them could give her that code word.

The FIRST thing he mentioned (the letter 'M') got me hooked. I was thinking about my mom who passed away several years back and her name started with an M. The crazy part is that the subsequent statements did not really apply to me, but since his first supposition was "correct," I can see how easy it would be for me to believe him if he were claiming to be an actual psychic.
My mother's name was Joyce, she was born in the 3rd month and had knee replacement. I wear her wedding ring. If I was so inclined, I might be desperately trying to figure out what that red thing was. But I don't believe psychics are anything but delusional at best and con artists at worst. Thanks for the debunking!

The best way to catch them out when they are trying to give you a reading is to not talk back to them, don't nod your head yes or shake no, just say ok when ever they say something. You will find out they will soon run out of things to say then blame it on the spirits on the other side thats reluctant to communicate that certain day.

they have to keep things rapid fire, you can't give folks time to stop and count your misses you need to fish for a hit quickly so you can focus in on it. As we saw with the last guy if you find yourself floundering for too long the audience starts to turn a bit as it becomes clear you're just talking crap.
For those interested in Truth: I'm sure you've wondered if Heaven/Hell are real. This world seems so curropt sometimes, it's as if justice is a lie, and the bad are more often rewarded. I know it can be hard to accept that God is real, especially when it seems like all evidence points in the opposite direction. You'll never find physical evidence, no scientist is going to prove God, our universe isn't set up that way. However, there actually is a way to find him for yourself. God has given me four simple steps, via divine revelation, he's told me anyone who does them genuinely is gureenteed a revelation of their own. As it turns out these steps are scattered throughout the Bible, but for so many it's only a paper weight, so they never find them, and never get their personal revelation. These steps are the mustard seed of Faith God wants to see from us. The bare minimum amount of effort he's willing to accept before he reveals himself. God steamlined these steps for me to spread, because we're at the end. Nigh was decades ago. These steps are the absolute lowest he's willing to accept, and also the order is very important. They are, forgive your parents, brake down before Jesus, ask for forgiveness, and read the Bible. Three books of the bible will be enough to get the revelation at step four. I recommend Genesis, Mathew, and then either Luke, Psalms, or proverbs. To be forgiven we must forgive. It's all over the Bible, both new, and old. Jesus teaches this lesson himself via parable in Mathew, but if you're not willing to search for that lesson, just read Mathew 6 14-15. We're supposed to forgive everyone, but because God knows that's hard, he makes the bare minimum forgiving your parents, because they've fed, clothed, housed, raised, loved you to some degree, and should be the easiest to forgive. Forgiveness is a huge step, and it trips up most people. Churches barley even bother to teach it's importance. Even though the Bible makes it extremely clear you cannot be saved until you do. Everyone has issues with their parents, it is for this reason, so you have someone easy to forgive. It can be harder if you have horrible parents, but just try, God will notice your efforts. This step coming first is extremely important, it basically primes your soul, gets God's attention. The order is like baking a cake. If you bake unmixed eggs, and flour, no cake. Since you can't be forgiven until you forgive, most people mess this up. Thinking falsely that asking for forgiveness is enough. It is not. The next biggest trip up is one of the worst in my opinion, actually reading the Bible for yourself. It is a necessity. God uses the time you spend reading to show you who he is, and give you important signs. Church is not enough. It's really only for community, and helping each other anyway. The denomination does not matter at all, as long as you're following what's written yourself. Although Catholics have a unique problem, in the fact that the church promotes the worship/prayer to saints. This is idolatry. The only way to the Father is though Jesus Christ. Saint Paul may have been a good person, but praying to him will lead you to Hell. I can state with absolute certainty that these steps work every time, when done with a genuine heart. It's not hard, just mean the steps when you do them. Testing God only makes him hide himself. Please, take your salvation seriously. Once you've done these four steps, God reveals himself. It won't be anything you can miss, nor misinterpretae, not signs, not feelings, but an actual one on one conversation with God. He gives you so many secrets then. Along with all the proof you'll ever need. Faith is the path to God, but once you've found him his existence should be knowledge. Faith is still extremely important, but more so in trusting his plan. Please, do these steps for yourself. Each must walk his own journey. Nobody else can get you into Heaven. I'm so serious. It's all real. See for yourself..
I'm glad there's someone like you, to call out these Fraudsters. I had a girlfriend once who did Psychic Readings. She also clued me in on these cold Readings.
Magicians have a long history of calling out these charlatans. Houdini did this as well as many magicians after. Look up James Randi to get the scope of this. As a side note, Don't be afraid to call psychic nonsense out for what it is.

It really angers me when these so-called “psychics” manipulate vulnerable, trusting people into believing they can communicate with their deceased loved ones. If I did the deceitful, heinous things that these “psychics “ do on a daily basis I wouldn’t be able to live with myself.

typically the last procedure a patient will have is a chest X-Ray, not because it's diagnostically useful just so it seems like something is being done. In our radiography department we called them passport photos because hospitals are like that. So psychics guessing "Something to do with the chest" is a very wide net
I always like when someone tells the reader something outright and then is surprised when it's told back to them. "Yeah, my dad died a couple years ago..." "I'm getting a message from your father." "OMG! How did you know he was dead?"
My Grandfather was called James and I wore a favourite red shirt to his memorial which later lost a button... I also inherited his watch! I'm one of three siblings too. Cold reading is quite clever.

Also I remember how Randi was savage with psychics, I still remember how he recorded one and read the long list of well over 20 names that the Psychic managed to sneak into the conversation, the interesting part was that the victim thought the psychic tried 2 or 3 names only.
Yes , I saw that . It was 37 names and the so called psychic managed to hit on 9 names . Lord with that many names to choose from , bound to hit a few ud think jst like what happened there.
The best part of that was the recipient of the reading wanted to believe it and tried arguing back. Randi was just like 'it's all in the transcript' and just tossed it at him
I've never believed in Psychics because it's obvious they're fishing for answers. If you keep track of how many hits they get right the first time, the percentage is very low. That being said, there's a Psychic medium named Matt Fraser. He started out local and has become so popular he's now known world wide. I never believed at all until I've seen Matt. When he reads, he practically does all the talking. He might ask a question, but not in the manner these people fish for answers. I've seen him tell the person or family members the name of the loved one that has passed. He doesn't toss out letters to them, he just comes up with a name and usally gets it right the very first time. He'll see other family members and also animals they had as pets. He would be invited to local TV channels. He would read people that didn't even ask for readings. He's had reporters in tears. He went on the show Botched with the 2 plastic surgeons. One of the doctors starting tearing up because he had gotten really personal info on the loved one that had past. He's been on the show The Doctors. He had them believing he contacted their loved ones. He is the one and only Phychic that i've seen that can do this. One day a reporter and camera man went out on the street with him. He stopped strangers to give them a reading. They were just blown away with what he told them about their loved ones that passed on. I've never seen anything like it. Matt has mentioned to people that he knew they didn't believe in Psychics. They said he was right. After a reading, they became believers. I just don't know what to say. He claims that people think that he goes on Google to find out info on them. He comes up with things that people said that only they and their loved one was the only ones that knew the information that he gave them. I don't know what to say. I don't have an answer for this man. He is like no other I have ever seen in the world of Psychics. If you haven't seen him, I suggest that you take a look.
My nan used to have her clients wait outside her front door when she made group “shows”. Her friend, Mrs. Olsen, was out there as well. They chatted about their expectations. She secretly wrote down some of the good stuff, and slipped it through the letterbox. Nan also used pupil dilation or contraction to determine whether she was on the right track. As well as leaning towards or away. Crossing arms. Folding hands. Imterlocking fingers. All small clues. She usually included a lawn and a brown dog and mentioned happy days. She taught me all the tricks of the trade.

She likes what she is hearing). - I see a dog running along side you.... (Client pulls back a bit. Pupils contract. The smile vanishes) - you were afraid of the dog (arms crossed) or you have been attacked by another dog (she leans forward. Looks interested). - you are more of a cat person (no reaction), but you are most comfortable without pets, that you can’t fully trust. - you are a people person and well liked by the people who matter most to you. Bla bla Bla bla After the session the client only remembers the hits. Not the lame trial and error. And if you get ONE perfect hit, you have them. You can tell them about some pretty basic stuff and make it sound like they are really important and unique events.

I went to a psychic a few times. She'd always want me to call her ahead of time to confirm I was coming, lol. If she was psychic, don't you think she would've known if I was coming or not?
Unless there is an entrance camera which is recognizing your face and immediately can search your data in public social networks. In China specifically they do it all the time.
My Grandmother used to cook meals ahead of someone coming to visit. She didn't get postcards, or letters, or phone calls about visits ahead of time. People would know who is coming to visit by the dinners she would prep, or little snacks because it wasn't going to be a long visit. When I was small, around age 7, I was playing outside and I got a vision of my Grandmother driving her car and the call was spinning. As I was seeing it happen, I stopped what I was doing and ran inside the House and asked my Mother why the car would be spinning on the road with my Grandmother in it. Just as the spinning stopped, I said, "Oh, she's okay now. Forget it." and went back outside to continue playing. After a few minutes, my Grandmother drove to the House, parked the car and I could see my Grandmother was bothered. My Mom met her outside, by the door, and my Grandmother told her she had hit some black ice on the off ramp of the highway, and the car went into a spin..and she became really scared. She was still shaking from the experience. My Mother then looked at me, as I was listening but still playing. It's still a psychic event, but now-a-days it's also called quantum entanglement. I don't tolerate fakes. I've done readings, but not once did I charge. I've also not done junk I hear in this, and I've known others to do the same kinds of stuff. Frauds. When it's real, it's calm and you don't have to go repeating words like these jerks do. Had I been in the audience for any of these people, and some others I've heard of...I would speak out very loudly calling them on their mental games!
You know, I sometimes think Deceitful Spirits might exist. They might actually be trolling these psychics because they know they are not living in the spirit of truth. These psychics use their gifts to enrich themselves and so have earned the distain of the spirit world.
I'm just realizing I don't have a parent, grandparent, sibling, 1st cousin, aunt or uncle who has a name that starts with m or J. And my mom has 6 siblings lol.
With audience as large as Chris's it's pretty much a statistic inevitability to get a hit or a few hits on at least someone. And even if you don't hit every time, people tend to have some sort of a confirmation bias and ignore the misses after you get a hit.
This is incredibly helpful how you repeat the question and explain why it is so common or how this lady claims she predicted that it was the daughter (while it was wrong), bc those people speak so fast and kind of pressure to rush through it, that it's very valuable for me that you slowed it down. I knew about the barnum effect but this was very practical to watch. Thanks!

I found your cold reading in the beginning quite funny, because I KNEW you were doing cold reading, and even though the things you said were very vague and general they still fit me without even having to think hard. So, a loved one on M, yes, that's my partner. Red object, sure, that's the flower I gave them recently. Moved picture, did that yesterday on my computer. The missing shirt, which also happened to have a loose button, yep, "have" one of those too. I have a scar on my left knee. And M did give me this watch I'm currently wearing. And my partner and their siblings are three. I still knew you were doing a cold reading, and I didn't for a second think that you actually knew these things about me, but it's still funny that all of the things matched so well.
That's the truth of it for many anymore. I have a friend whose father died and my friend never went to his funeral or shed one tear. When asked my friend always responds their father and mother were biological, but never genuine parents and abusive. So it makes sense. I hear a lot of times from people who have no loved ones. I think some just tolerate people and that is the summary of their "relationship".
I have this image of spirits saying to the psychics, “tell them my name begins with J”. If I’m on the other side with a message for the living and I’m actually speaking to a psychic that can actually hear me why would I be vague about my name? What a load of shit!
I have an embarrassing story related to this - before anyone comments it, yes I was an idiot, I was much younger when this took place! So quite a few years back, I had a major surgery and was in rehabilitation/physical therapy in an inpatient facility. I was also incredibly into the game Counter Strike: Global Offensive and was looking to join a team once I had the time. I was a total idiot and put that I was recovering from surgery on comments on my Steam profile back and forth with someone starting a team, and was of course completely shocked when, that very same day, someone started doing a “psychic reading” in a match where they were literally reading off my comments! It’s amazing how even someone like myself (I was already aware of how these readings work) was fooled simply because I had forgotten about the comments!
The beginning was truly for ME! That was hilarious. I’m an M and my ex is a J and we have three children. I have a scar on my left knee. I swear, I tell everyone that’s what psychics do. It’s always the most common crap.

A visitation. I was about to start a reading at a shop in the bank arcade about nine years ago. When i started feeling a strong spirit presence around me and then next to the person sitting waiting for me to start, a nun appeared before me in an old habit she would was about 5ft 5in tall i mentally said to her whats your name. She said Therese, i later put a saint to her name but i realise later she did not say saint. This was an amazing experience spirit allowed me to have to see with my open eyes the full features of a spirit person that being a nun. A verification of our survival after transition. Communication is by thought or telepathy and this was one of my lessons learnt. This was one of a number of seeing and communicating with those in spirit.
This is crazy. Spirit gives me specific things to bring out for validation. Example: you picked up a coin today, saw a sunflower today, etc. These validation information is the first thing that comes out.
I chuckled at the Catholic one. The larger the audience the more likelihood of there being at least one Catholic considering there are a huge number of Catholics in the older generations. It would be like if someone walked into a room full of 10,000 Asian people. At least one is bound to be Bhuddist. It's the same way if you walk into a huge room in Mexico at least one Mexican will be Catholic. The stuff these people put out is basic common sense, no more or less. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure it out honestly. But those who go to these people are so desperate and that is why they go, for "reassurance" to hear what their itching ears want to hear. It is honestly sad they prey off people. It is better for people to work through their problems, but some choose to listen to a pied piper's flute instead.
You gotta give them credit for just speaking in such an affirmative and confident manner, like I wish I could speak to anyone in such a certain way. Although it is to their detriment with how far they take it
I've read that for John Edward's show, audiences have to sign really thick non-disclosure agreements so they can't mention that the taping for each show lasts hours, after which they whittle it down to its broadcast time with all of the misses edited out.

I’m so glad you did this. This whole type of industry where people make money off vulnerable people really is a sensitive subject to me. I had a sister who passed at 23. She was religious and went to so many people who claimed they could “cure” her cancer. It put my dad in a very heartbreaking situation of paying lots of money to people, going to all these places who reap money off the vulnerable because he didn’t want to be the one to shatter her last hope and tell her no. How can you tell your daughter no when it’s her only last hope when she’s got terminal cancer? He either tells her no and he’s seen as the bad guy or tries to explain to her to try not get her hopes up because he doesn’t believe in these things but can take her if she wants. He wasn’t going to take that glimmer of happiness from her for a while. Such a shit position he was put in because of people like this. I get it’s not the same as these examples because it’s reading but it’s still taking money off the vulnerable. I can’t stand all this reading stuff. I’m just so glad to see you posting your personal opinion regarding it and how for a lot of them it can be debunked. I love how magicians, people who make a living using tricks and slight of hand, are often the ones debunking these frauds. The Amazing Randi (RIP) and Penn & Teller are the main ones that come to mind. Harry Houdini also went after psychics back in the day.

Great video. I'll add that getting someone to say "yes" is also powerful psychological tool. It puts the person's mind in a compliant / agreeable state. This is very common technique in sales. If you can get a person to repeat "yes" multiple times they are more likely to say yes when you close.
Went to one with a friend, she went in while I waited in the lobby. She came out looking all confused saying that the psychic said to watch out for the statue with the one eye and stay away from it. About a year later we went to a concert at the Fox Oakland Theater, a beautiful restored theater that has huge buddah statues on each side of the stage with eyes that glowed in the dark. There were hundreds of us standing at the stage when one of the eyes of the buddah went out. My friend remembering her experience with the psychic got so scared she left the theater and never went back. I think it is just a coincidence but who knows.
If she asked me if I knew a John or a Mary, then my answer is going to be “I know some, but I thought we were talking about MY family. We don’t have names like that.” We have names like Riata, Mayumi, Kaniki, iosimichi, Richoresta etc lmao. If she guessed such a name I’d be impressed.

Some people don’t realise why they are good at this cold reading and start to believe they really have special powers... and even events like this one fail to bring them to their senses.
I think it's because hot reading is too close to what news anchor's do. A news anchor could set up fake stuff on their profiles just to trap them. They are playing the news anchor's game when they are hot reading. It is also the first thing the news person suspects because they also google peoples information before an interview. While cold reading is more of a magician thing and a news person isn't going to understand it.

Or do you think they talk at home (in private only) like they know it’s all a sham??? So is that the answer? That maybe some “psychics” realize they are unproven shysters but don’t care and maybe others think they’re really “touched” (idk) and possibly convince themselves AND close loved ones? Wouldn’t The Hollywood medium, Tyler‘s mom, say to him “listen honey it’s been proven over and over again that there’s no such thing as psychic abilities”? I don’t know why I need to understand this so badly... and I’ve become so cynical since being lied to constantly from the Internet and television. Is there anything real left in the world??😕
What's funny is that some of the best cold readers are even more convincing than these people, all while openly admitting what they're doing is based on tricks and skill.
Usually I have a strong feeling of being sorry if someone is ridiculed in public. I feel really really bad for them and get loads of anxiety... but with frauds like that... I'm like hot dang, roast em baby.
Well that's because he could only show half of the process. "Cold" is that he's throwing generic/random information at the mark. "Reading" is for reading their reaction (hence slowly moving into warm territory). -- Obviously, on youtube with no mark, it leads nowhere.
Simply had to answer your questions: 1) Name - Marie (2) Mother - Deceased (3) Red object - she passed away under a pinkish/reddish blanket (4) The picture - my dad took a picture of him and my mom that I framed and gave to them that was taken at my wedding and reused the picture out of the frame (5) The shirt - clothing. I have a lot of her clothing and wear it often. If there is a button or something missing, I just wear it inside the house. (6) The left scar - She fell down in the hospital days before passing and it created a huge blue mark on her left knee (7) Jewelry - I have her ring (needs to be fixed) and I have been wearing her earrings since her passing and lost one of them recently but my husband found it again and now I just need to get a new butterfly clip so I can wear it again (8) The number 3 - She was the eldest of 3 daughters and officially she had 3 children (she had a 4th but he was not raised with us but in foster care instead as he was the result rape when she was 12). Now I know you were not speaking to me because I happen to agree that the body language/mentalist and perception aspect is what is used to con people like this.

I once outed a psychic on his livestream and I was inundated with hate mail and death threats from his followers. Then the psychic threatened to sue me and just went crazy....like legit eyes bulging, vein-popping screaming! It was amazing. I calmed him down. But the two days after O was absolutely paranoid for me and my wife's safety because the messages I was getting from his followers were INSANE! Psychics who take money for these readings or mediums who claim to talk to the deceased loved ones of those still living are just slimy bottomfeeders. Love this video.

I impulsively did it on a whim bc the guy sounded CRAZY...but I absolutely wasn't expecting the retaliation. I was always very open about what I shared online...it forced me to rethink and change a lot of that. But yes, it happened. I occasionally search to try to find the feed and him...but it's been so long. There IS a clip somewhere of an angry old psychic threatening to nail someone's balls to a board....if you find that clip EVER and that guy's name is attached? My favorite fail was Sylvia Brown on the Montel show where a lady lost her husband. She said my husband died on 9/11, to which Sylvia responds, he drowned. The widow says no, he died going into the towers as a firefighter. Sylvia says no he drowned because of the sprinklers.

I do have her gown from the hospital with buttons on it. And she does have scar on her leg and I do have her ring... and I have 3 brothers....sheesh. Xx good one!
I never once thought psychic readings were easy to do. It is the art of making a prediction general enough to apply to anyone, but specific enough to not seem like a coincidence.
I felt bad once because I had a hypnotist try to heal me and I actually started laughing a bit at one point. It’s embarrassing when they’re dead serious lol.
So true this. A relative was invited by his friend to see her favourite psychic for a personal reading because he'd suffered a severe bereavement. The friend, who was already known to the psychic, and who knew she had lost her best friend quite recently, had a great time being 'visited' by the deceased with comforting personal messages. My relative was less impressed; the recently departed best friend also happened to be his mother and strangely wasn't around when it was his turn. Apparently 'Mum' couldn't be bothered hanging around to speak to her son! Or more to the point, someone hadn't done her homework. Another time, years ago, a relative arranged for personal readings for her friends at a hen night. As it happened my mother had to take her place in the queue earlier than organised, and her 'reading' was a perfect match for the bride's mother who's turn it originally had been. Says it all really.
A lot of the items you picked could apply to me. But the only thing I believe in is the dead can speak to you in your dreams. And that's only between you and your loved one, no mediums needed.
I’m never able to find the words to express the pure, seething rage and contempt I feel towards the frauds who profit from the grieving and most vulnerable. I remember a case roughly 15 to 20 years ago where a “psychic” called Sylvia Browne absolutely devastated the mother of a kidnapping victim by telling her (on national TV) “she’s not alive, honey,” “she’s in water” and described “seeing” her blood-stained clothing. Now, it had been more than a year and a half since her disappearance-similar cases and historical precedence meant the likelihood she would be found alive were _very_ slim-so a fraud like Browne would have felt on pretty safe ground making such a statement. The mother died shortly after of heart failure likely brought on from grief. Her daughter was found alive several years later.
For me, these frauds are just unforgivable. There are no words to describe them.
If it makes you feel better, my ex used to work for a major airline in the San Francisco Bay Area. And guess what, Sylvia Browne was a passenger on a flight, and she had gotten stuck in traffic. Entitled as she was, she had her son call the airline and tell them to hold the plane for her since she was delayed by traffic. My ex told the son that nobody is entitled to having the plane held for them.
In anger, the son asked him "do you know who my mother is??" My ex said "yes I do, and if she were a real psychic, she should have predicted the traffic jam and left home earlier."

The FIRST thing he mentioned (the letter 'M') got me hooked. I was thinking about my mom who passed away several years back and her name started with an M. The crazy part is that the subsequent statements did not really apply to me, but since his first supposition was "correct," I can see how easy it would be for me to believe him if he were claiming to be an actual psychic.
That is why psychics prey on those who are in grief.
My mother's name was Joyce, she was born in the 3rd month and had knee replacement. I wear her wedding ring. If I was so inclined, I might be desperately trying to figure out what that red thing was. The best way to catch them out when they are trying to give you a reading is to not talk back to them, don't nod your head yes or shake no, just say ok when ever they say something. You will find out they will soon run out of things to say then blame it on the spirits on the other side thats reluctant to communicate that certain day.

I'm sure you've wondered if Heaven/Hell are real. This world seems so curropt sometimes, it's as if justice is a lie, and the bad are more often rewarded. I know it can be hard to accept that God is real, especially when it seems like all evidence points in the opposite direction. You'll never find physical evidence, no scientist is going to prove God, our universe isn't set up that way. However, there actually is a way to find him for yourself. God has given me four simple steps, via divine revelation, he's told me anyone who does them genuinely is gureenteed a revelation of their own. As it turns out these steps are scattered throughout the Bible, but for so many it's only a paper weight, so they never find them, and never get their personal revelation. These steps are the mustard seed of Faith God wants to see from us. The bare minimum amount of effort he's willing to accept before he reveals himself. God steamlined these steps for me to spread, because we're at the end. Nigh was decades ago. These steps are the absolute lowest he's willing to accept, and also the order is very important. They are, forgive your parents, brake down before Jesus, ask for forgiveness, and read the Bible. Three books of the bible will be enough to get the revelation at step four. I recommend Genesis, Mathew, and then either Luke, Psalms, or proverbs. To be forgiven we must forgive. It's all over the Bible, both new, and old. Jesus teaches this lesson himself via parable in Mathew, but if you're not willing to search for that lesson, just read Mathew 6 14-15. We're supposed to forgive everyone, but because God knows that's hard, he makes the bare minimum forgiving your parents, because they've fed, clothed, housed, raised, loved you to some degree, and should be the easiest to forgive. Forgiveness is a huge step, and it trips up most people. Churches barley even bother to teach it's importance. Even though the Bible makes it extremely clear you cannot be saved until you do. Everyone has issues with their parents, it is for this reason, so you have someone easy to forgive. It can be harder if you have horrible parents, but just try, God will notice your efforts. This step coming first is extremely important, it basically primes your soul, gets God's attention. The order is like baking a cake. If you bake unmixed eggs, and flour, no cake. Since you can't be forgiven until you forgive, most people mess this up. Thinking falsely that asking for forgiveness is enough. It is not. The next biggest trip up is one of the worst in my opinion, actually reading the Bible for yourself. It is a necessity. God uses the time you spend reading to show you who he is, and give you important signs. Church is not enough. It's really only for community, and helping each other anyway. The denomination does not matter at all, as long as you're following what's written yourself. Although Catholics have a unique problem, in the fact that the church promotes the worship/prayer to saints. This is idolatry. The only way to the Father is though Jesus Christ. Saint Paul may have been a good person, but praying to him will lead you to Hell. I can state with absolute certainty that these steps work every time, when done with a genuine heart. It's not hard, just mean the steps when you do them. Testing God only makes him hide himself. Please, take your salvation seriously. Once you've done these four steps, God reveals himself. It won't be anything you can miss, nor misinterpretae, not signs, not feelings, but an actual one on one conversation with God. He gives you so many secrets then. Along with all the proof you'll ever need. Faith is the path to God, but once you've found him his existence should be knowledge. Faith is still extremely important, but more so in trusting his plan. Please, do these steps for yourself. Each must walk his own journey. Nobody else can get you into Heaven. I'm so serious. It's all real. See for yourself..

Magicians have a long history of calling out these charlatans. Houdini did this as well as many magicians after. Look up James Randi to get the scope of this. As a side note, Don't be afraid to call psychic nonsense out for what it is.

typically the last procedure a patient will have is a chest X-Ray, not because it's diagnostically useful just so it seems like something is being done. In our radiography department we called them passport photos because hospitals are like that. So psychics guessing "Something to do with the chest" is a very wide net

My Grandfather was called James and I wore a favourite red shirt to his memorial which later lost a button... I also inherited his watch! I'm one of three siblings too. Cold reading is quite clever.

I've never believed in Psychics because it's obvious they're fishing for answers. If you keep track of how many hits they get right the first time, the percentage is very low. That being said, there's a Psychic medium named Matt Fraser. He started out local and has become so popular he's now known world wide. I never believed at all until I've seen Matt. When he reads, he practically does all the talking. He might ask a question, but not in the manner these people fish for answers. I've seen him tell the person or family members the name of the loved one that has passed. He doesn't toss out letters to them, he just comes up with a name and usally gets it right the very first time. He'll see other family members and also animals they had as pets. He would be invited to local TV channels. He would read people that didn't even ask for readings. He's had reporters in tears. He went on the show Botched with the 2 plastic surgeons. One of the doctors starting tearing up because he had gotten really personal info on the loved one that had past. He's been on the show The Doctors. He had them believing he contacted their loved ones. He is the one and only Phychic that i've seen that can do this. One day a reporter and camera man went out on the street with him. He stopped strangers to give them a reading. They were just blown away with what he told them about their loved ones that passed on. I've never seen anything like it. Matt has mentioned to people that he knew they didn't believe in Psychics. They said he was right. After a reading, they became believers. I just don't know what to say. He claims that people think that he goes on Google to find out info on them. He comes up with things that people said that only they and their loved one was the only ones that knew the information that he gave them. I don't know what to say. I don't have an answer for this man. He is like no other I have ever seen in the world of Psychics. If you haven't seen him, I suggest that you take a look.
My nan used to have her clients wait outside her front door when she made group “shows”.
Her friend, Mrs. Olsen, was out there as well. They chatted about their expectations. She secretly wrote down some of the good stuff, and slipped it through the letterbox.
Nan also used pupil dilation or contraction to determine whether she was on the right track. As well as leaning towards or away. Crossing arms. Folding hands. Imterlocking fingers. All small clues. She usually included a lawn and a brown dog and mentioned happy days.
She taught me all the tricks of the trade.

My Grandmother used to cook meals ahead of someone coming to visit. She didn't get postcards, or letters, or phone calls about visits ahead of time. People would know who is coming to visit by the dinners she would prep, or little snacks because it wasn't going to be a long visit.
When I was small, around age 7, I was playing outside and I got a vision of my Grandmother driving her car and the call was spinning. As I was seeing it happen, I stopped what I was doing and ran inside the House and asked my Mother why the car would be spinning on the road with my Grandmother in it. Just as the spinning stopped, I said, "Oh, she's okay now. Forget it." and went back outside to continue playing. After a few minutes, my Grandmother drove to the House, parked the car and I could see my Grandmother was bothered. My Mom met her outside, by the door, and my Grandmother told her she had hit some black ice on the off ramp of the highway, and the car went into a spin..and she became really scared. She was still shaking from the experience. My Mother then looked at me, as I was listening but still playing.

With audience as large as Chris's it's pretty much a statistic inevitability to get a hit or a few hits on at least someone. And even if you don't hit every time, people tend to have some sort of a confirmation bias and ignore the misses after you get a hit.

When asked my friend always responds their father and mother were biological, but never genuine parents and abusive. So it makes sense. I hear a lot of times from people who have no loved ones. I have an embarrassing story related to this - before anyone comments it, yes I was an idiot, I was much younger when this took place! So quite a few years back, I had a major surgery and was in rehabilitation/physical therapy in an inpatient facility. I was also incredibly into the game Counter Strike: Global Offensive and was looking to join a team once I had the time. I was a total idiot and put that I was recovering from surgery on comments on my Steam profile back and forth with someone starting a team, and was of course completely shocked when, that very same day, someone started doing a “psychic reading” in a match where they were literally reading off my comments! It’s amazing how even someone like myself (I was already aware of how these readings work) was fooled simply because I had forgotten about the comments!

I was about to start a reading at a shop in the bank arcade about nine years ago. I’m so glad you did this. This whole type of industry where people make money off vulnerable people really is a sensitive subject to me. I had a sister who passed at 23. She was religious and went to so many people who claimed they could “cure” her cancer. It put my dad in a very heartbreaking situation of paying lots of money to people, going to all these places who reap money off the vulnerable because he didn’t want to be the one to shatter her last hope and tell her no. How can you tell your daughter no when it’s her only last hope when she’s got terminal cancer? He either tells her no and he’s seen as the bad guy or tries to explain to her to try not get her hopes up because he doesn’t believe in these things but can take her if she wants. He wasn’t going to take that glimmer of happiness from her for a while. Such a shit position he was put in because of people like this. I get it’s not the same as these examples because it’s reading but it’s still taking money off the vulnerable. I can’t stand all this reading stuff. I’m just so glad to see you posting your personal opinion regarding it and how for a lot of them it can be debunked. Great video. I'll add that getting someone to say "yes" is also powerful psychological tool. It puts the person's mind in a compliant / agreeable state.
This is very common technique in sales. If you can get a person to repeat "yes" multiple times they are more likely to say yes when you close.
Went to one with a friend, she went in while I waited in the lobby. She came out looking all confused saying that the psychic said to watch out for the statue with the one eye and stay away from it. About a year later we went to a concert at the Fox Oakland Theater, a beautiful restored theater that has huge buddah statues on each side of the stage with eyes that glowed in the dark. There were hundreds of us standing at the stage when one of the eyes of the buddah went out. My friend remembering her experience with the psychic got so scared she left the theater and never went back. I think it is just a coincidence but who knows.

I think it's because hot reading is too close to what news anchor's do. A news anchor could set up fake stuff on their profiles just to trap them. They are playing the news anchor's game when they are hot reading. It is also the first thing the news person suspects because they also google peoples information before an interview. While cold reading is more of a magician thing and a news person isn't going to understand it.

I have a lot of her clothing and wear it often. If there is a button or something missing, I just wear it inside the house. (6) The left scar - She fell down in the hospital days before passing and it created a huge blue mark on her left knee (7) Jewelry - I have her ring (needs to be fixed) and I have been wearing her earrings since her passing and lost one of them recently but my husband found it again and now I just need to get a new butterfly clip so I can wear it again (8) The number 3 - She was the eldest of 3 daughters and officially she had 3 children (she had a 4th but he was not raised with us but in foster care instead as he was the result rape when she was 12). I once outed a psychic on his livestream and I was inundated with hate mail and death threats from his followers. Then the psychic threatened to sue me and just went crazy....like legit eyes bulging, vein-popping screaming! It was amazing. I calmed him down. But the two days after O was absolutely paranoid for me and my wife's safety because the messages I was getting from his followers were INSANE!

So true this. A relative was invited by his friend to see her favourite psychic for a personal reading because he'd suffered a severe bereavement. The friend, who was already known to the psychic, and who knew she had lost her best friend quite recently, had a great time being 'visited' by the deceased with comforting personal messages. My relative was less impressed; the recently departed best friend also happened to be his mother and strangely wasn't around when it was his turn. Apparently 'Mum' couldn't be bothered hanging around to speak to her son! Or more to the point, someone hadn't done her homework. Another time, years ago, a relative arranged for personal readings for her friends at a hen night. As it happened my mother had to take her place in the queue earlier than organised, and her 'reading' was a perfect match for the bride's mother who's turn it originally had been. Says it all really.
A lot of the items you picked could apply to me. But the only thing I believe in is the dead can speak to you in your dreams. And that's only between you and your loved one, no mediums needed.
