That charted higher for them, but I like this one better because it isn’t a cover song. This was on my list of song requests. If you like this, then you’d like ABC and the Thompson Twins. About to request some of those.

This is my favorite Naked Eyes song although I’ve never heard this version before. By reading the comments, I see that this is the UK version; I’ve only learn the US version which has a completely different second verse. Both are spectacular! Thanks for choosing this!

Naked Eyes is earlier 80's. Always Something There to Remind Me is one of my favorites. They were in pretty heavy rotation on MTV, otherwise I wouldn't have heard of them. MTV fueled the British Invasion in the 80's.

Naked Eyes is one of my favorite synthpop groups from the 80's! I saw them live during the reunion tours and Pete had released a solo album they were great! They only made 2 albums but they are full of great tunes! "Always Something there to remind me" is their biggest hit, "Promises Promises" is there 2nd hit and my personal favorite 3rd hit, "When the lights go out", is pure synthpop perfection!

This is my first time hearing the full album version and I dig it. I agree with other posters that the single edit, which I usually despise, is the best version. The only other instance that comes to mind is You Are The Sunshine of My Life by Stevie Wonder, which adds a horn arrangement that elevates the song.

Oh- the memories I have of this song. Probably one of my favorites from the 80’s. My best friend in high school worked at a local upscale steakhouse in their kitchen. I would park out back, and wait on him to get off work @10pm to go out running around as teenagers did back then. I remember this just blasting from my speakers. My friend was not exactly a fan of “dance music”- but he LOVED this song.

This was one of the best songs of 1983 and I was into R&B, New Wave, Pop and Rock. And might I add that some of the best
guitar solos of the eighties were recorded that year.
    Naked Eyes: Promises Promises
    Michael Jackson: Beat It
    Shalamar: Dead Giveaway
    Journey: Send her my love
    Journey: Separate Ways.
This is just my opinion. If someone can think of others, please feel free to add.

One of my favorite songs ever!! I was thrilled when I saw this.....
They did "Always something there to remind me".....another banger. Also,
this is not the radio edit track. You may appreciate the radio edit more-- it's a bit more punchy, less funky. I enjoy both, but I prefer the radio edit for daily listening. It's perfection. If you haven't done, check out Johnny Hates Jazz, "Shattered Dreams." Similiar soundscape/same era. It's fire--a daily listen for me. ❤❤ Appreciate you boys! Many thanks!

I saw them on tour a few years ago with “Lost 80’s Live”. Every year they bring old 80’s bands together and they each play two or three songs. A Flock of Seagulls is always the headliner. So many great New Wave songs for you to explore! Just a few suggestions: ABC's “The Look of Love”; Murray Head's “One Night in Bangkok”; After the Fire's “Der Kommissar”, and anything by Howard Jones.

This is the "album version" of the song. The "single version" is EVEN BETTER and what we heard on the radio in the 80s, It has a better intro that launches right into the song, a slightly faster pace, and much less echo on "Promises, Promises" chorus. The Single version or Radio edit is always BETTER!

I hope that when they react to Sade that it’s a cut that die-hard Sade fans love. “Smooth Operator” is cool but that’s her most ultra commercial song. In my opinion, it pales in comparison to, say, “Cherish The Day”. ✌🏽

I actually have heard this version, but agree that the single version is much better in this case. But I don't feel this way about all songs. To me, usually once I know the whole song from an album, it bothers me when parts of it are cut out for single or video versions. JMO

I enjoy them both but prefer the U.S. version bc it doesn’t have the reverb in the chorus. For the record: I had no issue with the “cup of tea” line in the UK version. ✌🏽
