- Finally, a replacement for the BMW GPS Connected Ride Navigator . What is it? Are You are sick and tired of factory navigations. I finally found one that is worthy of my time, energy, and trusted to take on tour. I'm lucky enough to have a pre-manufactured version of this. It's not ready for sale yet. This is my review of it; it's absolutely 100% worth having on any bike. Net line replacement for the BMW 1300 GS 1250, and any bike with ConnectedRide and Nav five.
The people that know me, know I'm very impatient when it comes to technology, and I generally just want to ride the bike. I really don't want to stand around and connect to your helmet. This genuinely happened. I turned it on, it connected, and it worked as I followed the waypoints I pre-plucked on my laptop. It showed me the weather, it gave me my text messages. Not that I wanted them; it even allowed me to reply to a WhatsApp when I was stationary, not that I want to do on a bike; bikes are for escaping. You can set up a focus mode with CarPlay so you are not disturbed while riding your bike with text messages and emails. As soon as it is connected to your bike, it will create a focus mode that knows it's connected to your bike and will not deliver these messages and not ring the phone if set up like this. I'm very excited about this product. I put my money where my mouth is. Do you want to come and try it? Give me a call; you're more than welcome. contact life is a ride uk based in Henley. Great review but boy i'm feeling sick after all the walking round.
Very intesting. Very interesting indeed. Please keep us updated. 👍
Go to my web site things have moved on
Me and my mate really like our Senas, mine's integrated into my Shoei, they are a massive improvement on what we used to use.
Nice Nav! Keep us updated!
Thanks! Will do!

thanks for the video, love this, looks great for my XR! hope they bring out an adapter for bmw satnav mount, be even easier to install. Im less than an hour away from you as well.
Looks fantastic, looking forward to any other videos on this great unit. I see from their website that an extra module/interface can be purchased that makes it work with the wonder wheel.
I didn’t mention it because it’s not available for the for 1300
Mistake
@@lifeisarideuk Great Video!!. Thanks!. Do you know if it's going to be available for the 1300? Been able to use the WW it's a definitive game changer for me!!
See be web site to order
Great video! I'm thinking of trading my 2015 R1200RT for the 2024 R1300GS and will seriously consider this product! I did have to chuckle when you blurred out your speedometer ;-)
Better than bmw nav and you get cameras
Off topic but on topic. What HomeKit device do you use for your gate?
P.S the bar that the Chigee is mounted on factory? Or custom bar?
P.P.S I like your soft bar grips, which ones are they?
P.P.P.S what headset comms are you using? Happy with the mic and speaker?
Very useful review as my 1300GS will arrive in a months time and I was contemplating buyin the connectride thingy or use my Garmin on the bike. Question:(if you know) will the CANBUS adapter of the old bike work ? I think it might cause the Nav V and VI work on both, but i´d be nice to really know before ordering...
Ditch the Garmin and the other thing is on the way for review , this is the best option and a tom tom Account
Don't think they have introduced support for 1300, having new canbus pin type yet. Including some 1250s as well. Better check with them before ordering. Or get a remote switch to control it effortlessly.
@@iamrider2539That’s my understanding too … Direct from Chigee they quote : R1300 GS not supported.
@@maxflight777 but hey, I'm using this with a separate remote and touch screen, it works like a charm! Can bus connection seem like a bonus only!
Very nice video. This requires a yellow triger wire. Where did you plug that?
When you buy one it comes with all the instructions 😀lifeisaride.co.uk/chigee-aio-5-lite/
From the Chigee site ;
*Compatible with BMW motorcycle models equipped with a wheel controller, allowing for safe and efficient operation of the AIO-5 lite without the need to remove hands from the handlebars.
Note: The following models are not supported: 2022 K16, 2023 BMW R 1250 RT, and BMW R1300 GS, as they do not adhere to the 4-pin or 8-pin compatibility specifications
*So my question is … how do you get it to operate with your R1300GS?*
The one that is compatible, comes with a dongle that attach to the BMW cambus allowing the use of the OEM wheel controller. the module are sold separately (optional). The video is just the standard version, where the cambus module is not available yet for R1300GS.
Why didn’t use the BMW plug that plugs into the old Nav system and connect to that for the ACC startup. No voided warranty then.
Hey have you done a comparison between this and Carpuride, if so, which one do you recommend?
Looks good, how's it mounted, can it be removed?
No it’s held on by a metal bracket stronger than your tft
Hi and thanks for this great video! After watching it, I just ordered this Chigee kit for my 2020 BMW 1250 GS. May I ask you if you use the BMW ConnectedRide app, resp. if you have your iPhone connected with your BMW TFT as well? I am curious if this is gonna work or if this would give me trouble. I am using the ConnectedRide app to record trips and bike data, so I would not want to miss that.
MY planned BT connections are:
iPhone > Chigee
iPhone > Cardo PT Edge
iPhone > TFT
No BT connection between headset and TFT
No BT connection between headset and Chigee
In the past I used a similar scheme, but instead of the Chigee, I used a Garmin XT. In this setup, the TFT was always the last unit to connect with the iPhone and due to some magic BT rules, Spotify then always tried to play music over the TFT. So I always had to fiddle around in Spotify to switch from the BMW TFT to my Cardo. Maybe you can tell me your experience? Thanks and regards, Stefan
Additional Info: my VW T6.1 has CarPlay. Bike and Bus are both in the garage, I connected the iPhone to the Bus via BT CarPlay and started playing music. Then I switched on the BMW and after it connected with the iPhone, the music in the bus was still playing over CarPlay. Maybe this device is the solution to all my previous BT issues I had. Can't wait to receive it.
Who did you get it through we have stock

@@kathidaddy call if you think you ordered it through us because at the moment I don’t see anything on our order list. My telephone number is on the website.
I am based in Austria, I ordered it from their online shop directly. I am still waiting to receive it, it has not been shipped out yet.
Off topic question but do you get condensation on everything metal in your shed through the winter? I notice my tools are staining after a few years…wondering if I should insulate my metal shed….hope to have a new bike early q3.
Absolutely not we install MPHR products in my day job of which I’m looking to give up soon. I have a dehumidifier and a diesel heater. When I get up give up building houses I will build my own three bay garage. If the wife permits the container has been there for 10 years For 10 years other peoples houses have been a priority, but now I’m bored and I want my own but you are correct. Some people do suffer with connotation and when you Ceramic Coat you have to get humidity just about right hence the dehumidifier
Nice video. Can you confirm how the unit mounted? can it be removed easily?
Mounted with a metal bracket, I would say stronger than the TFT, and no, you can’t remove it
that is the other minus ,you can not take it off..
Interested to know if you've tried the My-Route App "Navigation" app, which I see you have, on a "multi-waypoint" route (i.e. GPX imported route)?
I use my route up only for plotting. My route app navigation is terrible trust me on this. I have used every single one on the market. The only one to use is Tom Tom plot your route in my route up export it to Tom Tom and you will not go wrong. Make sure you export it as a route.TRACK
@@lifeisarideuk I wondered if they had improved the phone app, because my experience using it has been terrible like yours. Rever, Scenic, and Calimoto, aren't great in my personal experience either. However, Waze, Beeline, and Garmin Zumo XT have all been flawless. Waze doesn't support multi-waypoint planning with online router saving (else all GPS would be redundant), but Beeline and Garmin work perfectly with GPX routes created on the MyRoute-App website. Here's how I use that: ua-cam.com/video/Sf0eiFJB-qM/v-deo.htmlsi=5fVMOXkmcfkLfhSj
You ride like I do. Did you say you can control the Chigee from the wonder wheel (like the Connect Ride)?
That's true but you need to purchase the controller separately and it support most of the GS models
I don't understand. On their website its presale so you cant actually get one yet. I am therefore understandably cautious about the glowing review. Where did you get your unit?
Glowing review is justified, it was sent to me to review if you want to try one come and pick it up and then tell me you don't like it I'll make you a coffee
I can get you one
@@jays9211I did mine on the power outlet for the navigation prep. Ordered a socket and plugged right in no splitting wires.
@@ccrews0612Could you please share a link with the socket you are talking about?
Great video! What's the resolution of the cameras? Thanks!
1080 see my web site
I would like to ask you:
1. whether the wheel works for Zoom In/Out on Google Maps?
2. to increase and decrease the volume when listening to Spotify?
Thank you in advance,
George
YesTo the zoom no to the volume
Maybe a silly question but if you don't care about dashcams/rearcams, why not just get a proper mount for your phone and use carplay? Curious what the advantages are of Chigee outside the camera integration?
It’s not a stupid question but until you’ve done it, you don’t know the pitfalls 38° or even 35° in Italy in France the screen on the phone shots down and you can’t see where you’re going and that’s not the sweat dripping down inside your helmet
Good morning from Portugal
Where I connect the ACC wire on BMW K1600GTL. Can you help me? Thanks
Is this compatible with R1300GS wonder wheel and why don't they just have a plug in connector to the BMW Nav socket?
Going to say yes in about a month
Does it come with a mount to go around the bar where the navigation prep was?
Yes I had one
Excuse me but is there a CAN bus connection to the bike ? And also the processor is kinda slow slaggish
Why you asking me about can bus , nothing wrong with the processor at all fast as hell , who do you work for Garmin 😉
Love the rant section but hard to keep watching with him walking around and the background shifting too much behind him.
No connection with the WonderWheel ??? All the manipulation with the fingers ?
No the wheel works on the 1250 not on the 130@ yet
