This was a very interesting clip, & really appreciate these types of topics that are rarely discussed at length. Another topic I'd really enjoy hearing about would be what you also mentioned in this video.... " The 3 Nephites". I've always wondered about where they are thought to be ? On our continent, or another? Or, are they always together, or working separately, and are they people who we can actually see and interact with, or are they on a higher plain, where we wouldn't necessarily interact with them? I hope you are able to do a discussion on this.... thanks a lot! I love Saints Unscripted!! 👍😁🧡
I really hoped you would bring up the book of revelations when it says write unto the angels of the seven churches. John the Apostle wrote to men who were called angels, but they were just the mortal organizers of the respective churches, in Laodicea, Philadelphia, Ephesus, Thyatira, Sardis, Pergamum, and Smyrna.
I'd love to see a follow up to this video.. You didn't really go over the fact that not all post mortal spirits are angels. Some spirits are wandering the other side of the veil still lost to God's Word, some are even wicked spirits, while others have found their way to God's bosom and are now angelic. God only sends choice spirits as angels. An angel's purpose can vary. They can warn, inspire, comfort, or just be a guardian to a mortal. How can we tell the difference between bad spirits and good spirits and angels? 1 John 4 tells us to try or test spirits so we are not deceived. The Holy Ghost will never fool us if we listen.
Also it is worth mentioning that the spirits of those who followed Lucifer also roam the earth. We must also be careful not to mix these up with disembodied spirits.
We know that those who reside in the lesser 2 of the 3 Celestial Kingdoms are not exhalted as are those who obtain Terrestrial and Telestial bodies, they are all described as "Servants of the Most High". Getting REALLY deep into it, it was taught: "As man is, God once was and as God is man can become." The Father lived a mortal life and was exhalted as his Father was. God the Father obtained a Celestial Kingdom in the manner we now are going through (because it's the perfect plan, it's been done endless numbers of times) and others that lived on the earth when he lived obtained kingdoms of glory as well, according the works of their own mortal lives. Those that weren't exhalted became servants of the most high. I take that to believe that The Father has ressurected and perfected beings that lived in his time that are now ministering angels for him. As he needs work done, he's able to call up on them. Perhaps the cherubim and seraphim the Bible speaks of are those of Celestial, Terrestrial, or Telestial glory called upon by God that existed in his mortal time and are now servants to him, otherwise, what is a servant to the most high God to do? I think they assist in performing miracles and as messengers sent as needed and, having a greater understanding of the plan and the veil we as mortals have that restrict our understanding and the selfish nature we have in a fallen world with fatigue and other mortal issues, I think those servants are more than happy to be called upon to assist in whatever is needed. Otherwise, what do they do?
Nice video on angels. Here's a verse that shows an angel that is our "fellow servant" and is "of the Prophets" . In other words this angel or messinger is a human. One that keeps the sayings of God just like we are supposed to do. " I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren the prophets." Rev 22: 8 And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which shewed me these things. 9 Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God.
Great topic Dave! One of my favorite subjects. I got a question... Will we be able to remember our pre-mortal life, after we die and cross over to the other side of the veil? I ddnt knw people are still being translated after Jesus' resurrection... Isnt that what you said?
If I may try to answer, the official doctrine of the Church is that when we were put on this Earth, the veil was placed over us, and that same veil will be removed when we leave it. Meaning yes, you will remember your pre-mortal life after your spirit leaves your body. Secondly, translation as a process of being taken by God without dying seems to be an exceptionally rare practice. In all of the LDS canonized scriptures (The Bible, the Book of Mormon, the Doctrine & Covenants, and the Pearl of Great Price, a TON of scripture) translation only happened twice to my knowledge. People may have been translated and it simply wasn’t written down or others weren’t there to witness it, but as far as we know it’s a pretty rare thing
It says they will live to the age of a tree (which is thought to be 1000 years). In other words, they will live through the millenium-for the Earth will be renewed and they will “run and not be weary and walk and not faint”. The work for the dead will continue through mortals who live in the terrestrial sphere-which the Earth will be changed into at Christ’s coming.
And yes, we will be able to remember our pre-mortal life once passing through the veil. Some people who have had NDE’s have seen their past lives or missions to Earth before. Or what they understood was their past lives and missions.
When I read the title of this video, “What do Latter-day Saints believe about ANGELS?!”, the first answer to this question that popped in my head was that they believe angels carry flaming swords and force people to become polygamists.
@@EdmundPatak Christians quote and use psalms as hymns. Those done by thumbs up polygamist King David. If you are not a Christian but a rather silly fool, then you've been educated
When George Lucas made star wars, he wasn’t kidding about flaming swords. There really is another galaxy far far away. Scoffers only see what they are willing to see.
Nice video, but the prophet being an earthly angel. I disagree with that part. I understand (I think) how you believe and respect it but I couldn’t go to that level personally. (with any belief system, group, organization, etc)
The word "angel" is literally just the transliteration of the Greek word for messenger. Nothing about the etymology implies that it must be supernatural.
@@brettmajeske3525 I understand that, it’s just with my experience with several denominations and history I don’t like putting people on pedestals unless they’ve earned it and even then they are human and they fall. For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. I’ve gone to lds church for 7 months on a quest for understanding. I find a lot of things interesting that make it different and ok. I also find a lot of the same problems I run into with every denomination.

If I like and agree with what I hear I’ll go along with it, but obey without question or even just not questioning I can’t do because of my experiences.
You must lead a very closed life. The pride it would take to isolate myself from God and his spirits, to not notice other spirits moving among men and their effects, to ignore or discount so many personal first hand accounts of loved ones who have passed on. All we know about the 3 Nephites from scripture is that they are still alive today. Where they are and what they’re doing is a mystery. M

The Seraphim in Isaiah 6:2 are red winged angels, also the Cherubim are the six winged angels standing next to the throne of God.
But we are spirit children, and once we're angels and will be again.
2:50 actually there is a third type: resurrected beings are also angels
And a 4th type: mortal angels
Anyone designated as a messenger of God would probably be classified as one.
Here I was thinking Angels looked like giant anime monsters! Gosh darn Neon Genesis! 😅
