Oh my gosh!!!! I have had this tool for quite a while, but had no idea where to start! I spent this morning watching the videos you created on the Deboss, Engraving and Foil Transfer Tool and I learned so much!! I usually have to take notes when I watch "other" videos and especially when reading tutorials, but I did not have to take one note this morning!!! Kudos to you for taking the time and effort to teach us step by step how to use these tools and demonstrating the projects that can be made with each tool. You are now my go to channel for all things Cricut!!!! 💕 Thank you so much!!
Your videos are some of the most detailed and best videos on how to use my Cricut machines! You are a wonderful teacher! So organized in your presentations and very clear instructions for those who are experienced Cricut users as well as those who are just starting out. Thank you for sharing your expertise. I hope the Cricut company appreciates you and your You Tube channel as much as those of us who have subscribed to and watch your instructional videos!
Angie Thank you for your clear tutorial. They are easy to understand with great demonstration and as a beginner its good to know that everyone has things go wrong sometimes. you have made the Cricut something I love to use, thank you
Hey Angie, If you're still using that foil quit and the cord is still la problem, you could always get a cord manager, like they use for Dremel tools. It's a clamp-on, height adjustable, pivoting armature that keeps the cord out of the way, yet allows free-enough movement. I have one I use when grinding the designs on aircraft aluminum panels prior to airbrushing them. Very handy. BTW, I understand the arthritis issues. Again your video was excellent! I just recently got my Cricut foil transfer kit. Getting the foil to behave is .... patience & breath required. LOL! Thank you for everything you do!
Angie you nailed it in this video! Thank you for showing us a variety of ways to use the Foil Transfer Tool. This is the best video I have seen yet that showcases how to use the tool.
THANK YOU SO MUCH! I HAVE HAD THE CRICUT FOIL QUILL for about 2 years and it’s still in the box....I’m breaking it out today! You are a great teacher !
I love your tutorial, I just recently purchased an explorer air 2. So I have been soaking up all the wonderful information you provide. Thank you so much
I ordered the foil kit and all 3 foil pls available first thing this morning! Can’t wait! Thanks for the tutorial! I am making all my Christmas cards with the foil!
Thank you so much Angie for being so thorough and for testing this new tool on different materials and projects! I really appreciated your tutorial video. Bravo! 💜
I wasn’t interested in the kit until I saw your video. I did try to purchase through your link today but the kit is sold out. I have checked for several days previous and no luck. I will use your link when it comes back into stock because this is the best video I have seen. Thanks!
I’m new to cricut, this video was fantastic and you did an amazing job explaining everything, thank you so much. Can’t wait to watch more and make these items.
Thank you so much for this informative video and all the material comparisons! I just got a Cricut for Christmas so I'm a newbie, but I'm so excited to experiment and make beautiful projects!
Thank you Angie for this video, just brought the embossing tool last week, this video is very helpful, as always you explain everything very well! Hugs Liz x
Hi, Angie. Your videos are always so thorough. And thanks for showing the mistake with the foil being too small on the one card. That helps, too. I think it is cool that you're sponsored by Cricut. It's a really cool system. I noticed that with the vellum, you didn't move the star wheels, and it didn't make a difference (in that instance, at least).
Great video! You are really good at explaining how it works and the pro’s and con’s. I didn’t realize that Cricut had made their own tool for this, and it appears to work better than the plug-in kind. I will use the Cricut tool so that I don’t mess up my warranty. That is important to me, and I’m glad that there are tools within the Cricut design space that support the tool, it takes away all the trial and error. My time is precious! ♥️
Angie, this was SUCH a good video. I had so many of these questions that I didn't see answered anywhere else! Because I am cheap I'd like to see if I can get some foil transfers besides from Cricut (also, they seem sold out).
Very impressive video. Thank you for your time and effort. You are great. Easy to watch, easy to understand, and very competent. I loved the projects you did. I have seen several videos on making earrings with the Cricut. Had never thought about doing something like that. I am a card maker and have been making cards for many years. Love my Cricut and think I could do many more projects with it than what I have done in the past. I ordered the foiling supplies from Cricut and they have been sitting here in my craft room for almost 3 weeks--you have inspired me to try them out and see what I can do. Loved that box you made; well, actually I loved everything you made. Thanks again for a great video!
Thank you so much for making this video, I have just been looking at getting a foil quill and now changing my mind to get the Cricut Foil Transfer Tool instead. Love all the ideas that you made with this, especially the earrings.
THANKS ANGIE,Your videos are always the GREATEST. You go into such detail. I just ordered mine from HSN, got other things included with it. :) I should have it by the 16th of Oct. Can't wait. I almost bought they hot foil ones, glad I didn't. THANKS AGAIN.
just in time! I was waiting for your video! i ordered it the second i saw the ad on Instagram but I'm super excited to watch your video on this... after i study for my exam lol
Your videos always go into details, love that. Wish cricut wasn't OUT OF STOCK.. just introduced it, and it gone.. wanted to order it. Wanted to get into foiling but didnt want to go the heat foiling cause at that time it would of voided my warranty. Guess all can do it wait for restock..thank you for your video.
So very cool 😎 👌 Thank you for this video never knew you could do some of the thing's you made 😍 Hoping to go through your videos & hopefully see how you made them in design space 🤞🫶
Angie Holden I think that I am going to LOVE it and I’m SO grateful for your video because I ordered it before I even saw the notification. Plus, I’m happy that I did because they were sold out by last night!
Great video. I wish you did a project on the Air 2 and show on the computer screen what it says to do in the different steps for a new user. The score tool does NOT score on the Air 2. There have been so many complaints I am surprised they didn't put out a better score blade for the Air 2. I also had purchased the tool with the wire but had no idea my warranty would not be good anymore if something happended using this tool..Should have been stated so I am so glad you mentioned it. Thanks for a great video.
This was a great video! I loved learning all about the Foil Transfer Tool. And I really appreciated that you left in the "mistakes" you made rather than edit them out. I am a visual learner so seeing what happened and how to correct was very helpful. I do have one question. I have an Explore Air 2, but I don't have a scoring wheel. Can the scoring stylus be used instead? Thanks again for sharing!
I have not seen the wood grain faux leather but would love it. I don't see it linked, so is it an older material or an upcoming one? Your link only has the faux suede and pebbled faux leather. As always, thanks for a such an informative video. And I love the way you segmented and referenced the individual portions of the video in your description. So helpful!
Angie, this video was fantastic!!! I ordered the Cricut Foil Transfer Tool today (and actually returned the Foil Quill set I bought and had not used yet). I'd much rather use this one and after your thorough review....I'm so excited to get mine. I'm curious....since you already have it, would you consider TRYING to see if Thermo Web's DecoFoil would work with it. Even though it's meant to be used with heat, you can also use it with adhesive so maybe it would work? Pretty please???? LOLOL
@Jessi Belle But the Cricut foil also is not sticky. Since pressure is what makes it attach the media, I'm curious if the Deco Foil will do the same. Will wait to see what Angie says - and try it also myself once I receive mine. Won't be a for a couple weeks or so however.
I have the foil quills (all 4) the Heidi Swapp minc, deco foil... all of them. and this solves everything I didn’t like about it, the most important thing is it looks more consistent. Heading to get it!
@@AngieHolden so you think for sure this is the best one? (Husband called during your video and sidetracked me) I’m waiting on the HVAC guy and then I’m going to get it 😍
@@AngieHolden I got it yesterday, 40% off at Hobby Lobby. I haven’t tried it yet but I’m going to as soon as I get back from taking my kid to school! I wish they had more options for foil. Have you seen deco foils new fairytale line? 🥰😍
Enjoyed the video and have tried to use my tips but for some reason it’s not printing on my faux leather. Tried a few different kinds some had kind of a felt backing and some had nothing. I must be doing something wrong but can’t figure out what. Have tried different pressures and different tips. I think it’s the leather
There are various materials that I cannot get this tool to work with and frankly I can't figure out what the difference is between them and the ones that work.
I totally loved this video Angie!! I was mesmerised by all that can be achieved with the tool! I had two questions if you don't mind .. 1) why did you have to move the star wheel and what would happen if you didn't do that? and 2) A lot of those projects had a few different elements to them e.g. scoring, then foiling, then cutting. Can you create all three different 'commands' in one project on Design Space? (sorry, I'm new to Cricut so just getting to grips with it!), thank you for all the inspiration! xx
The star wheels can actually give enough pressure to transfer some of the foil. I have messed up and NOT moved them and it been okay. But I have also not moved them and it left some foil places that it shouldn't have been. It is best to always move them so your project doesn't get messed up!
One way to speed up working with the foil quill: use a power strip with some plug-in usb power adapters. You can plug the tools in and let them heat up outside of the Cricut. Then you could just hot swap them!
I thought I'd be able to use these foils without the tool since they are pressure reactive, but I can't get them to transfer no matter how much pressure I use. However, I tried the Cricut foil with my foil quill and it transferred perfectly. Strange...
you are so talented and make so many excellent videos! but you are a bad influence on my credit card😉🤣. For the stickers you made here, was the vinyl you used the kind you would put on glass/mugs/etc? Or was it actual sticker paper? Is there any material you have tried to foil that did NOT work? Thanks so much Angie!
Thank you so much for a more descriptive details and demonstration. I am new to cricut. I have been trying to make labels for my products with my explorer using wood grain textured paper and the foil will not fully adhere. Watching this I think I may need to change the material setting, I have it on light cardstock. What did you put in for design space for it to cut out a full sticker and not the inside details? My labels have draw, foil and print and cut in the design, but on the cut part it keeps cutting the letters and not the actual label.
Always love your videos, you are so thorough. I noticed you shirt looks like you have a Cricut machine on it so I have to ask where you got the Svg for that?
The debossing tool is a plastic ball so I am thinking it will not press hard enough. But I did not try that. I may have to try a few tools and see what happens!
Just ordered my foil tool and so excited to use it! Do you recommend placing the whole foil transfer sheet on top of your design, even if only doing something small? Or can you cut it to try and preserve some foil, and just use a big enough piece for what you need? Thanks
I have found that the foil won't transfer to some materials. Like certain papers it doesn't work well with. I haven't, however, been able to narrow it down to WHY that happens.
I know I'm here 3 years later but if anybody is interested Amazon has this foil kit in a bundle for $22 and it comes with a 30 sheet package of craft board and an extra 30 sheets package of foil sheets! Much love!

Watching this I think I may need to change the material setting, I have it on light cardstock. What did you put in for design space for it to cut out a full sticker and not the inside details? My labels have draw, foil and print and cut in the design, but on the cut part it keeps cutting the letters and not the actual label.
To have it cut the label, you will need to flatten your printed elements to your outline.
Always love your videos, you are so thorough. I noticed you shirt looks like you have a Cricut machine on it so I have to ask where you got the Svg for that?
Thank you can’t Waite to get mine!
Hope you like it!
So why can't you just use the debossing tool for the maker?
The debossing tool is a plastic ball so I am thinking it will not press hard enough. But I did not try that. I may have to try a few tools and see what happens!
Hi Angie, great video! How do you convert your own sketches that you upload into design space into foilable lines? Any help appreciated
It is NOT easy. The lines have to be digitized at EXACTLY 1 pixel wide in order to make them true draw lines.
Thank you, I 😍 ❤
Really good good video. Thank You Angie!
Glad it was helpful!
Just ordered my foil tool and so excited to use it! Do you recommend placing the whole foil transfer sheet on top of your design, even if only doing something small? Or can you cut it to try and preserve some foil, and just use a big enough piece for what you need? Thanks
You can definitely cut it!
Wow love the earings!!!! Like wow!
Me too!!
Thank you for the amazing tutorial. But why sometime the foil wouldn't transfer although I am using the proper tools
I have found that the foil won't transfer to some materials. Like certain papers it doesn't work well with. I haven't, however, been able to narrow it down to WHY that happens.
Amazing video. So helpful
Glad you think so!
