- It's never a good feeling when the next door neighbor gets a head start on you early in the spring. I decided to use Yard Mastery's new Flagship fertilizer to really start to wake things up in my lawn this spring.

Looks like Yard Mastery hit all the yard youtubers 😃. Funny thing is all the lawns in my block are all green. Even for the people that do nothing to their lawns. The gift of spring I guess.
@@krusej23 I'd be surprised if Jimmy's neighbor didn't properly winterize with fertilizer to get a proper wake up this spring. Jimmy seems like a good neighbor who wouldn't let him forget something like that 😉
@@krusej23 Yep! Now, if they skipped the fert in fall, or have never fertilized, fertilizing in the spring will definitely cause a major green up. I have lots of neighbors who can prove that. LOL
Guarantee if he did nothing, the yard would’ve still greened up regardless of flagship or not. They really need some sort of control to actually tell if the product really did something...

What are you spraying on your lawn? Do you do it before you put the seed down or after and does it matter

Looking good Jimmy. I wish that somebody would design a spreader where it all drops out without having to shake it or tilt it one way or the other. Now, THAT would be money for sure! And maybe someone has, but at a reasonable price point please?
Hey Jimmy ... looks good. I put the ProPeat 10-0-10 down and it’s a solid deep green and growing like crazy. Will try the Stress Blend at 20% K come summer with the Biosolids. Appreciate the feedback of slightly higher than 4 with your Spyker. I have the same. Decent throw pattern you showed in the video. When will you start striping?

Soil temperature/sun has a lot to do with early greenup. Some lawns are more strategically aimed at the sun.
I agree. Temperatures here are still learning on the colder side of the spectrum, and the majority of my yard gets full sun. The soil is mostly crappy everywhere, no proper topsoil was used except for the renovated area I mentioned which is why it's waking up before everything else. The fertilizer really makes a big difference.

Unless your yard maintains a pH of 6.0 or below, the micros and iron are useless. All the metals are oxide. The 17-7-6 is good.
Flagship really woke my yard up too. I was surprised how quickly the color went dark! How were your phosphorus levels this year? Do you plan to get some phosphorus down via a starter fert or other product this year?
P is still high. No plans to use any products with P this year.
My color is great this year even without fert, thanks to the rain. I'll be curious to follow and compare how we handle similar issues of high pH and phosphorus.
I wish we got more rain here. But it's practically a rarity. I mentioned a storm coming in towards the end of the video, it has been raining here this morning 🙏

Thanks. I typically water it in because we don’t get much rain here. If you’re expecting around 1/4 - 1/2” of rain within the next day or two that will be fine.
I’m using growth regulator governor granule for the first time do you think it’s too early to put it down now I just did my first mow or should I wait another month
I would personally wait. I use PGR as well, but only when I feel like I need to mow more than twice a week.

I need to hurry up and order my flagship before its out of stock. I just put down half of bag of milorganite so my next application will be flagship.
Your lawn is looking great Jimmy! Nice and dark green, I’m sure a few more days and it will be back to normal. I just bought a huge haul of products from yard mastery including the biostimulant pack, the flagship and stress blend for the first time after watching you, Allyn, and Justin’s videos. Planning to get mine thrown down this weekend hopefully. I found a nest of baby bunnies in the backyard that altered my lawn plans by a few weeks this year 🤦🏻♂️

Hey Jimmy how often does it need to be watered after you apply?
I like to give it about a half inch of water after applying to get it down in the soil.
What is your opinion of the IFA 4 step system?
I love their Humate product and apply it every spring and fall. I think the 4 step products are a little overpriced and lack additional nutrients that are beneficial for the soil.
How often will you throw that down? I bought the nxt 4 bio stimulant pack also
This can be applied at full rate every 4-6 weeks. Bio stimulants I apply monthly.
Got my soil test back and my Phosphorus is high. I'm going to be seeding new lawn in the fall and wondering if I should use this flagship instead of a starter fert cause my phosphorus is already high
I’m also high in phosphorus. You can go either way. I’ve done fine using product with small amounts of P to start new grass before.

Used Flagship for my early spring app and it was great. Woke the lawn right up and is super green!
Thanks for the video... Trying Yard Mastery this year, I've been using Anderson's for 2 years but the results were just ok to me.
Using this in My lawn in Florida as well as the Stress Blend. @The Lawncare Nut definitely nailed it with this line of products
Is yard mastery a local Utah company? That’s one of the reasons I went with the ifa fertilizer... a little more expensive but it’s made in tremonton and Corinne Utah
Yard Mastery is based in Florida, so they ship these products to you. Their products are priced similar to IFA (including shipping) but have tons more nutritional value that will benefit both the lawn and the soil. The only IFA product I use is the Humate.
I’ll have to tell the Greenskeeper at my golf course about this miracle fertilizer that’s the rave of UA-cam. Has to be the best if amateur youtubers are using it.

Welp here we go. Last year was Green County products. Year before that(2019), it was Milorganite product push. This year it’s Yard Mastery, what’s for 2022?😕😒🤨
I’m still using Greene County products. Milorganite doesn’t meet my needs and is beyond expensive. Yard Mastery is made for DIYers, especially beginners and isn’t a bad buy considering they ship to your door. Also, you forgot ProPeat. And yes, I will continue using that this year as well. Lots to look forward to.

I started a weed kill program & fert program 6wks before anyone in my neighborhood. I even did some of it discreetly. Most of the guys in my neighborhood don't know what hit them!
