For St. Augustine, I already did the big ferts earlier with stress blend in March, then flagship at the end of April. Did RGS, Humic 12, and Air 8 earlier in the season as well. Today, I put out Sunnilands 8-0-10 at 5.5 pounds per 1k. Did DiseaseX as well since we're in the rainy season. Other than a little bit of sedge, my lawn has never looked better. Also, last week sprayed Hydretain and was blown away at how well the grass looks like it's been watered but hasn't been. The dry spots in the lawn are gone. Just want to thank you Allen for all the help.

Micro green, humic, RGS, and multi-purpose plus with some hydretain usually does the trick with some flagship stress blend and water in the mornings. Keeps my cool season grass green all year in the transition zone :). Neighbor I never meet yesterday caught me outside and said I had the best looking yard in the subdivision. Thanks to "The Lawn Care Nut" for inspiration and education. My St. Augustine lawn is very old and in need of rejuvenation . I started following this channel a little more than a year ago and last year's lawn was improved over previous years . Doubling down with even more attention to fertilizers and more water, this year's lawn is the best it has looked in literally 20 years. For my situation weed & feed has been a big mistake and really holds back the grass. My old lawn is now thriving on lots of nitrogen, nutrients, and lots of water. This reminds me, I need to get out there are put out some bug killer to slow down the grubs. Thanks again.

Same here. I've had great success with stress blend as a granular starter on my yard then I started using the green county liquids recently. Now I am addidicted to liquids due to the amazing results. That being said what really sold me: I did the same stress blend about Feb 5. Same stuff on my mother in laws yard about a half mile from where I reside in NW Houston / Jersey Village and her yard only really perked up after a heavy dose of a blend of ar8 and RGS. When I would apply the stress blend on my yard it would be the best looking yard in a subdivision of 382 houses. But when I did hers it wouldn't do anything close to mine. She would laugh and say I gave her the bad bag of fert. Unofficial soil test: My sons and I run a scout flag program in our subdivision. We nail in 48 sticks of 1/4 inch rebar (24 inch long but only 12 in the soil) in 48 different lawns. On this memorial day flag set up her yard was much easier to nail the rebar in: amazing yard to yard how different the feel is. Some yards it takes only two hammer throws others it takes 10 and you can feel a mini earth quake because their soil is so compacted. I really attribute a lot of the success to AR8 at The mother-in-law’s house. I bet if I threw down granule now on our yard it would respond because the soil structure is so much better. It's a different way of soil testing but I assure you it's accurate😀

I have to mow in long socks and work boots and spray my entire body with OFF or else I'll be bitten all over. I've got lawn treatment and pest care and neither has an idea how to solve it. I live in Texas and do this with good results in st augustine grass... 1. I buy and Apply scotts red bag (winterguard) on October. I use half and leave the other half for next year. 2. On March I buy scotts green bag ( turf builder) then I mix the green bag with previous year red bag. I read that St. Augustine needs iron to become green but also needs bit acidic soil to get the iron. Scotts winterguard (red bag) composition is Nitrogen - 32% Potash - 10% Sulfur - 6% . Scotts turf builder (green bag) composition is NItrogen 32% (16% slow release) Potash 10% Iron 2%. Sulfur lower the soil Ph and helps the grass to get the iron better.

I roll Milo on my yard several times a year, mixed in with some applications of Scotts Turfbuilder.
I am not to interested in green. I just roll on good fertilizer. I used to ammonium nitrate mixed with 5-10-15, mixed 3-1 ratio of fert to nitrate. My St. Augustine loved it, but I cannot find either, anymore, locally. The best I can come up with is 10-10-10. I am letting my yard grow out this spring and my St. Augustine is spreading like crazy. I am going to roll some more Milo and Turfbuilder next week. I have had lots of rain this spring and I limed well during the winter. I roll at a 5 setting with lime and Milo, 3 with Turfbuilder.

I have been to every Walmart in the state more than once for work and the big box / scotts mentality of fertilizers are hilarious. They could easily modify what they sell by soil type for their store instead of selling dumb ass stuff like Kentucky blue grass in Rio Grand valley. I don't know who is dumber the buyers, suppliers, or the customers. Another thing that Allyn mentions on many videos is cut height. That's because you have poor soil and weak roots. You're not watering long enough. I'm from Texas. We have black hard concrete dirt/clay, not soil. You will need to water about 45m-1h every other day until your lawn is lush than 15-20 mins. Water at 4am the earliest. Earliest the best because grass grows at night. We added red dirt for a top dressing in the front which boosted the time period.

We recently purchased our house and our lawn is over 15k square feet (I measured it after watching one of your videos) and it's all destroyed. It doesn't look like the previous owner did anything but mow. There are large patches of clover and dandelion and the soil is very dry and has a lot of uneven spots. I've tried fertilizing and I know watering is one of the most important steps but our well can't support watering the whole yard. I've recently purchased a few rain barrels to see if I can put some kind of watering schedule in place but now I'm trying to figure out how to deliver it.

Please help... In the next week or so I need to apply these 4 products to a TTTF/KBG lawn ... cool season.
    Dominion 2L + Humic/Kelp + Hydretain + Propiconazole.
Which products can mix together so that I don't need to do separate 4 applications?
Yes, I know about taking small sample and mixing in a jar (jar test), but I would really like to know from those that have combined some of these products together and results.
    Thank you.

Hey Allyn, I have Bermuda and I have these dark brown spots that won’t go away. 6 weeks ago I put Green Max and 2weeks ago Ironite. Should I just loosen it up and put soil and sand and let it fill in? Thanks

Great Video! I live PNW ( WA State) and my lawn for the first time in years is not growing and browning a bit due to the extended unusual heat. I have heard you do not want to feed a stressed lawn, and I believe Nitrogen promotes growth. Should try Iron and Potassium?

Thanks for the video! What’s your thoughts on using Lime on your grass? Could you explain the differences between Lime and Iron please? Thanks again and keep up the great classes professor.

Get a soil test. If your soil PH is too acidic, and you need to “raise your PH” then put down Lime. Lime will make your soil more Alkaline. If the soil in your area is clay, then Lime will be unnecessary as clay is typically very Alkaline (higher PH). To “lower your PH” you should put down things like Sulphur and Iron to lower the PH level. Again, get a soil test and go from there.

Hey lcn I had an odd question about st augustine and I thought I would ask you. If the grass grows vegetatively or by spreading thru runners or stolons theoretically one small sprig or mother plant should cover an entire lawn eventually although highly impractical, right? And I also wonder what is the biggest single st augustine plant in the world or if there's like a world record or something? Just a thought but I thought I would ask the expert thanx man stay green

LCN- I am a huge follower and believer in your craft. I don't think I will ever be on your level, but I have a question. I am all about supporting you and your company, Yard Mastery. I bought Prodiamine from your company already in the small batch. Thank you for offering that product in a smaller batch. It should last me for seasons to come. I bought Milorganite for late April, because of you. I am now ready to start fertilizing with your stuff from Yard Mastery. I have St. Augustine grass and I live in Virginia Beach, VA. I am going to purchase either Freedom or Flagship for the 4th of July weekend. Which would you recommend? We are now seeing low to high 90's. I do not want to burn up my lawn and half of the front is new plugs I planted in Early April. I want to push those Stolens like you talk about in your videos.

I'm giving the following a go this season my first app Yardmastery 12-12-12 with 3% iron then 30 days later double dark 16-0-0 with 6% iron. Rinse and repeat a second time the grass will have more P and K by time August our hottest month. Then September and October will be super feeding with Milo which I have 4 bags left and I might have some scotts turfbuilder I will be putting to bed with a full stomach like last year. We were the first to mow first to green up before May 2nd. IM A FIRM BELIEVER IN "MORE NOW MAY" not that other crap those climate change cultists believe in.

For those of us with kids and dogs, what are we supposed to use? It seems like all of the stuff that actually works is not good for them to be around/on. Most of it says just stay off for 24-48 hours but I don’t believe it becomes safe that quickly. Thoughts?

it's will start to green up with those high temps you got today. It's just slow up that far north but come summer it will be green while everyone else's dries out and goes dormant.
