    What you’re gonna wanna do here when you get the strut pulled out:
    1. Throw it and the spacer in the garbage
    2. Get a real suspension lift so you actually improve your vehicle.

      Spacer kits work great for small budget lifts who don't plan on upgrading to coil overs or bypass shocks.

      Even if you do a spacer lift, you also have to drop the bump stops down the same increment otherwise, the shock will bottom out before hitting the bump stop and break. Then you will have to buy everything again and start over from square one. Buy once, cry once.

    So when you do a 3 inch lift you do a 3inch diff drop?

    Was that really 3"? I've put a 2" spacer on my '05 V8 and it make it perfectly level. You still look like you've got some forward rake.

    I noticed after installing my strut spacers my steering column developed a shake and a rattle over bumps I loosened the center collar of the half shaft and wiggled it tighter again but I think I need to get those other spacers

      Doing a lift can easily eacerbate a preexisting issue. If you are feeling a vibration it could be wheel bearings.

    is this the same kit and procedure for 2WD models?

    • @SupremesuspensionsLiftKits
      @SupremesuspensionsLiftKits  Рік тому

      The 2WD uses the same strut spacers, but the installation procedure may be slightly different than the 4WD as the 2WD model will not have drivetrain components in the front to potentially disconnect or work around.

    Hi,,i just wanted to know if there will be any major issue if i dont install the front diff spacer that comes with the lift installation kit...will it throw it off balance or affect its looks . I watched a video online for a 2.5inch lift kit and the installer didn't fix the front diff spacer like you did and it seemed quite leveled..i would appreciate your opinion on that thanks.

      A differential drop kit won't affect the amount of lift of the overall look of the truck. What it does is lower the front differential, in relation to the chassis, to help correct the angles of the CV axles associated with the lift.
      In basic terms, the differential drop will prevent vibrations and premature wear in the CV joints. You can get away without it on 2.5" lifts but when we go 3" and up, we like to install them as a precaution. They're relatively inexpensive and fairly easy to install so it's like cheap insurance for your front axles!

    Recently bought a 2012 T4R LTD with 50k miles on it, which was lifted 2" few miles ago. VSC kicks in when turning at relatively low speed. So I've read all the threads on this problem and finally took it to the dealer for a zero point calibration. Actually I did it twice but VSC kicking in problem persists.
    One of the technicians suggested dropping the sway bar with one of those kits available in the market. Do you think this can solve the problem? Or should I just live with it? Any other ideas? Thanks!

      Hello Roberto,
      I've never heard of this being an issue, so I had to ask around.
      We haven't experienced this issue, but there does seem to be a few things that have a tendency to cause this issue, even after the ZPC. I've even heard that a cat could cause the issue, although how that would be a cause I can't gather.
      Here is a good writeup on issues and solutions concerning the VSC kicking in.
      www.toyota-4runner.org/problems-and-warranty-issues/32818-one-cause-fix-vsc-trac-vsc-off-lights-zero-point-calibration.html
      I hope it helps you solve the issue you are encountering, if not, please feel free to contact us again.

      jaysplace01 my question now is,and this is coming from a person who toes his boat. Will this now lead me to swaying big time and lose traction in the front. Cause isn't the entire point of having the rear higher. So when I tow and it begins to squat in the rear, it will become leveled with the front end? So in my case. If I lift 3" in front should I life at least 2" in rear

    What is the purpose of the diff drop? Thanks

    • @SupremesuspensionsLiftKits
      @SupremesuspensionsLiftKits  3 роки тому +2

      Simply to keep the CV's in proper suspension geometry when using a lift.
      While some people can get away without them (if you're doing driving paved roads, not seeing any dirt/gravel, etc) if you're planning on doing any sort of offroading, its highly recommended to be used to prevent pre-mature wear of your CV's and the CV boots.
      Diff drops are inexpensive and fairly easy to do and will extend the life of your CV's when flexing your suspension.

    i have a 2006 4runner sr5 v8 2wd. i tried installing two inch spacers and i got the 3 bolts on top of the shock but couldn't loosen the big one in the middle. Is taking out the whole shock the only way to install the spacers??

    • @SupremesuspensionsLiftKits
      @SupremesuspensionsLiftKits  6 років тому +4

      Noooo... the middle nut is what is holding the whole strut assembly together. Once that is removed, there will be nothing keeping the spring from popping out. If you are having issues I would recommend taking it a shop that might be able to take care of the job for you.

    • @mcruben12
