24mp 1 inch sensor with 5dB higher SNR for increased low light performance
    vertical battery grip
    dual UHS II card slots
    zoom focus tracking

with a dslr or mirrorless you can manually zoom the lens and focus at the same time unlike the rx10iv which has an electronic zoom it will focus in video whilst zooming but wont if you are in stills. other than that the camera is a beast

Found a way to save different settings to camera. These won't delete when card is formatted.
To programme the settings such as birds in flight: set up your required selections such as A, Iso, Focus Area etc. Then in the menu, go to Camera Settings 1, page 3 of 14 and go to the "Memory" option. Select which Memory location (1, 2 and 3 are on the camera and M1, M2, M3 and M4 will save to the SD card) you want to save that specific set up. Repeat for each different set up, but choose a new memory location.
I have set 1 to BIF, 2 to static birds, 3 to scenic shots, M1 using Shutter. To use the various saved options the mode dial needs to be set to the "MR" position.
Instead of C1 or C2 buttons I have programmed Memory Recall into the Fn button. To switch between configurations I press the Fn button, which brings up Recall and scroll left or right to the memory setting you want: 1, 2, 3 or M1 and press enter.
To programme the function button: press menu, go to Camera Settings 2, page 9 of 10 and go to the "Function menu set" option. Set (Function Upper 1) as "Shoot mode".
When using the method of saving to c1 or c2 using the other method. You have to keep the button pressed to use the different settings saved to it.
This was you can go switch to what Eva saved settings you require
      Hope this makes sense😀

Hi Stuart, I appreciate you detailed instructions very much. I am new to the RX10 and I am struggling with some operational settings.
Moving from a video camera that took acceptable videos but really bad pictures I want to use the RX10 primarily for video but also take excellent pictures.
I tried to take video with the movie button, but the results were miserable: way too much shaking from my side. So, I set the shutter button to take video with much better results. But now I lost the capability to take an image at the same time. I have not found a setting that allows me to assign a different button as image shutter.
The 2nd issue I have is when I use the movie mode settings, the wheel to switch to an image setting requires quite some "clicks", i.e., four if manual is not the preferred mode.

Hi there, thanks for the video. I was hoping to find something similar to what I have on my A99ii which is strangely just called "Focus Standard" on there. When I assign this Focus Standard to a button it allows me to have full wide focusing on which is great 80% of the time but then when I want to lock onto something specific that the camera isn't doing for me on it's own (eg the wrong person's face or a bird in a busy bush etc) I can hold this button and it activated the very center focusing square and then locks that until I let go of it. A super useful focusing tool to have. Any idea if this camera has it / has similar and where to find it? Thanks for your time.

@@sjm.photos Thanks for coming back to me, yeah I guess I could use that in conjunction with another button too to also lock the focusing so I can re-frame my shot at the same time even when I have continuous focusing on.
The 'Focus Standard' mode on my A99ii seems such a simple and powerful single button feature I just thought it would be on pretty much all cameras tbh as I use it all the time where the camera isn't understand who or what I actually want my focal point to be.
How small can you make the focusing centre point on the RX10iv? Sometimes if a bird is right in a tree with lots of branches in front of it then it won't lock onto the bird and the centre point is still too large to miss all the branches but a single AF spot would be able to, the same for a person who is right across a room with a sea of other faces between you and them, it's often asking too much of the AF system to pick out the one person you want but a single AF dot will cut through them to where you want it.
