  • This quick tutorial with a little demo track at end with sounds created.Ive been trying to make good use of the sample import facility in the TD50.Here i use just a Kick & Snare sample added.
    WIth the Snare i wanted the rim to trigger the sample and the head to play internal snare sound only for grace notes.
    It would be much easier to mix if it were possible to route the imported samples to an individual output...maybe it is???
    Hope this helps.
    Cheers

    Good timing and accuracy, much better than mine and nice clean and modern sound and playing. Great.

    Wouldn't mind seeing you make a video of the full recording process of one of your pieces, track by track?

    Does the SD card need to stay inside or when it’s imported I can remove SD card and sounds will stay in module? Thx

    • @SteveMonti
      @SteveMonti  Рік тому

      Hi….once imported you can remove the card - it goes to internal memory

    Steve ?.. After modifying the user sample in this case ( Drum Kit >86 MS_HybridBtz ),and or any Drum Kit modification on the Roland TD-50 does it save your new preset automatically .. Just wondering if you move out of that ,to another Drum Kit ( lets just say as a example " Drum Kit > 01 Jarrah Ply ") and back in to 86 MS_HybridBtz …. has it reverted back to the original 86 MS_HybridBtz or your new modified 86 MS_HybridBtz (latest version "modified" )? I've been finding that after taking all the time of doing modification's to a Drum Kit ( not saving ),finding later it has reverted back to original settings when coming back to that Kit from another . This needs to be clarified for new users of the TD-50 in your video . I found out the hard way .

      Hi Donald - Hmm that's a little strange.There's no need to save modifications as far as I'm aware.I do sometimes copy the preset I'm about to change (so i can retain original) to a spare preset number and modify there.Maybe you should try this and it should come back as you leave it.Sorry i cant help anymore,Good luck.

    Hello,
    First I love my TD-50 but I am having an issue with imported wav files not playing to completion. These files are 30-45 seconds in length and used for song intros. When I preview the file it plays perfectly to end but when I assign it to a pad it fades out around 10 seconds. I did have one day where it worked perfect but the next day after the unit being off it went back to the same issue. Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Mike

      mixgarage hey man me too.I’ve never tried importing a long file like that but I’ll have a go and report back....

      Thanks for the quick reply. I sat down tonight and tried starting over. I re-imported the files and when I preview them they play perfect. Assigned them to the pad and they now play to completion but they start fading out slowly halfway through the file. I'm totally missing something.

    Hi Steve, my brother is waiting on delivery of his newly purchased TD50. If the TD50 is connected to a computer via USB, can the samples be imported directly or is the SD card the only way to do this?

    • @SteveMonti

      Hi Paul. No the only way is to import them is via the SD card - but that would’ve been a good function.Hope he enjoys his TD50 cheers

    Can recorded sounds with a mic be imported to the TD-50 and triggered on the pads? For example, if I recorded my dog growling with a mic, could I import that sound to the TD-50 and play it on the kit?

    • @SteveMonti
      @SteveMonti  4 роки тому +1

      Lol...yea any sound can be imported,either by the way i have described or you can input straight in via the TD50 inputs.look forward to hearing the growling pads :)

      @@SteveMonti By the way, Steve, I meant to ask you something. Would you recommend snagging the 5-piece of this kit (Roland TD-50KVX-S) for $4,000? I found a brand new Roland TD-50KVX-S for that price ($4,000). I have an old 6-piece TD-10 V-Session kit with some upgraded pads I've had for almost 15 years. I'd need to know today, though! Your input would help a ton. Thank you for the video! I'm very intrigued by the TD-50; the sampling feature is great.

    My Brand new (2019-05-28) Roland TD-50 locked up while importing a sample pack from Roland UK. Anyone see any videos on how to unluck the F--KER?!?!?!?! I'm furious!!! $6,000 and I can't use the kit at all because nothing responds now. No buttons, no dials, the power button doesn't even respond. I have to pull the plug out to turn it off.
