Awesome Ultimecia Boss Battle Theme!! Especially the start of the song! Makes you intimidated enough and more engaged in the battle also because of the music! I've always considered FFVIII's battle themes as one of my favorite music in Final Fantasies or RPGs. Boss Battle theme is also beautiful and gets me I think everytime especially when I was a kid watching my Onichan or older brother play. ^_^
I don't even remember if I ever used Aura on my characters. I was not playing the game greatly and your Duel limit break was awesome and LONG! I have to pay more attention next time when I play this great game! I wanna play RPGs again! At least I haven't finished VIII yet so that's still something to look forward to!
schalazeal07 Yeah it's my favorite Limit Break in the game! At level 100 with his best gloves and low HP, you can fire off insane amounts of combos and deal a ton of damage in a long space of time. Practice, it's fun!
GFs are good only in the first battles. Real fun is in the Limit moves (Squall's Lion Heart and Irvine's Shot with strong ammo are an example). Then GFs become useful only for junctions. If you get 100Ultimas in Elem def, you become immune to all elements. Then if you stack 100 Life to Elem Def to that you can absorb a bit of all elements. As for Stat def, junction 100 Pain, 100 Death, 100 Berserk and 100 Sleep, and you become pretty much invulnerable to almost anything. You need some serious GF organization and some minor GF tweaking though. You still are vulnerable to Petrify, which is annoying sometimes, but only a handful of enemies use it, just stack up 100 Gold needles or whatever. Nobody uses GFs because they're way too weak in the grand scheme of things. Then there's the Card grinding trick, in which you get APs but not EXPs in every battle, great for grinding GFs abilities and unlocking pretty things like Str Up early (Ifrit has it if I remember correctly, and that's the very first GF you get by playing), which boosts Strength more every time a character levels up (for example). With proper strategy and enough time, you can become overpowered in the first disc.

I don't know man....i swear ffvii and ffviii are the best two games in the series....totally customizable characters and styles of fighting...best GFs of all time.... you can do anything you want to each character using the GFs. ff8 was a perfect use of GFs. in other ffs i don't even bother using them.

Seifer's animation and injured stance are different in the second battle is because he already got defeated once by squall and his team in the first battle and is extremely fatigued. That's why u see him hunching forward so much in the second battle...
One of the simplest FF out there tbh. You just gotta learn how junctions work, and then you can become a demigod. It just becomes very boring sometimes.
I've never played this though I am a longtime veteran of the series. The screen flashes when Squall uses the gun sword annoyed me when I saw someone play it before. Thus I figured you may be stuck with gun swords for some reason. Im pretty sure I can just dump his stock weapon somewhere in a swamp and accommodate with a better weapon lol
the weirdest thing happened. im playing the remaster and i initiated the battle with seifer and it had different battke music. and the magic you couod draw was 3rd level magic. i realized i didnt have room for any more so i reloaded and made room and changed some junctions..and when i did the battle again it was the regular boss battle theme and you could only draw level 2 magic..
As weird as it looks, it's a mix of two reasons. I casted it prematurely on Squall when I wanted to steal the Mega Phoenix pack first. After that, I forgot it expired and I didn't pay attention to the yellow aura over Squall, so I kept hitting triangle thinking "Why won't Renzokuken pop up?" I thought somebody was going to pick up on that eventually!
I forget which GF has it but there's a "Mar Rush" command that they can learn. I casted that while I fought her, I lost control of my whole party, but they went crazy attacking her left and right doing about 1500 damage each time. I think Mad Rush casts Haste, Protect, and Beserk on each party member. I literally frame skipped through the battle as my whole party laid down an angry ass-whoopin on her. She used death on Zell, but squall and Irvine took care of her.
Oh, how the love story between John and Derpina will be remembered across scores of generations...

The only good gfs in this game are Doomtrain(status) and Eden(break damage limit), the rest are meh

I agree on FFV. FFV is the best in terms of customs. Like they actually make a clear difference in when to use Black Magic or to go for Summons.
