As a human who lost a baby and found kittens, I can say that this works. Fast forward to now. I have a human child of my own. And feline babies and canine babies. What a happy few we are. I love this so much.
I also have a human child now after 13 years of trying... but after I lost my first baby my hubby brought home a tiny, abandoned gray and black kitten I named Holden.. And that baby needed me, and over time healed my soul. Thank u Lord for sending Holden, may he RIP
I was compelled to give up my baby as a teenager because that’s what they did in those days. I didn’t realize I was compensating by rescuing stray cats. Really got in over my head. Years later I had another baby and helped to heal.
@@AnOriginalName500 Nah, you people just can’t make up your mind. For another animal and video, it’s the same variables but “mother had to kill the runt.” Humans are animals, when a mother chooses to bond more with one child is it because the child must be weak? No. People allow a range of options, but with animals it must be simple and cookie cutter, because people are sensitive. Literally other people under this video with other theories about how the mother must be bonding because that one was introduced first. Go take your fickle self over there and argue about how “animals work”.
She was making room for them!! She actually pushed her toys aside to make room for the babies! What a good mama. She saw babies in need and said, “Yep! Those are mine! Bring them in!”
Cross-species nursing is weird and cool at the same time. I've seen baby guinea pigs nursing from cats, cats nursing puppies, puppies and kittens with pigs...the list goes on. It just shows that a mother's love and instinct is to think: "This is a baby. It needs me." Great vid.
I know it's crazy and wonderful! I just watched a video a few weeks ago of a cat nursing a raccoon. And my grandma had a German shepherd mix when I was a kid who had a litter of puppies but also nursed a baby pig. The pig was identical size and color to her puppies so she was like yep your mine hop on. Lol
This dog is just proof that a mother doesn't care what a child in need looks like, or sounds like. Only that the child is in need, and that a mother could be just the thing.
Once had a dog like this. She would bring home stray kittens she would find and be their mom. Cuddling, grooming, protecting, the works. When she passed (lived to be 16!) and her cat children lived on their was a clear grief period. They missed their mom so much it was clear. Some animals just want to be moms!
@@sidshot2636 yup, I was actually waiting for this. It's so true. The hypocrisy. A friend of mine once told me... "well it's different, we need to eat meat, chicken, beef, etc. to survive. I wish that they would just stop killing all animals. I believe that people can live on other sources of food. Maybe I'm wrong, but Jesus, they say that animals are killed in a humane way so that people can eat. Well look at Asia and how they torture SO MUCH, dogs and cats. It's sick. Just in case... don't even think about Googling it on UA-cam or anything what they do during the Yulin festival or even NOT during the Yulin festival. Just what they do aaaaall year-round & everyday. I had a stray kitten that my neighbor said had lost her babies. She got pregnant far too young and was the smallest cat I’ve ever seen. I had a baby who is about a year old and she fell in love with him. She followed him around every day we went outside in the summer and wouldn’t leave our house and just waited for us. A month later I moved and got a house I could take her with us. Anytime my baby would cry she would go nuts until I would go check on him. When I tried to get him to go to sleep play self soothing she was so upset! I found her crawling in his crib kissing on him and trying to snuggle with him to make him stop crying. I thought I had locked her out of the room but she just loved my boy so much. Unfortunately she only lived about four years but we loved her so much. I didn’t know she was sick until it was too late. My heart still breaks from losing her. I will love her forever. RIP Katie cat
So sad when an animal just doesn't understand why her babies aren't there 😢 But the smile she got on her face when the kittens first started feeding from her was so heartwarming and precious. What a good girl she is ❤️
I had a cat that had a litter of one and it was stillborn. She followed me for a week crying. It was really one of the saddest things I have ever witnessed.
Whenever we gave for adoption our cat's kittens once they were big enough, she would cry and search them all around the house for days too. That was one of the reasons we decided to castrate her, not only because she was already 7 at the time and had already around 30 kittens, but because of how much she hurted whenever she lost the kittens. I'm glad to say that she's turning 17 this year, living a lazy and happy life
@@HannibalKantter responsible animal owners wont let to the point a cat gives birth to 30 babies during her life. That is lack of care and castrate so old is too.
My parents once had a Pomeranian who lost her litter after they were born and they also had a cat that passed away after the kittens were born. The Pomeranian adopted the kittens while their eyes were still closed and when they grew up they thought they were dogs. It was the most adorable thing I ever witnessed.
It is really amazing how one kind can imprint on another kind. My grandmother had a couple of geese and a duck. The duck thought it was a goose, and it was hilarious.
Yeah my mother had a pig and it would come in the livingroom, watch tv and play with the dogs. But when the dogs jumped over the fence, the pig would jump too, and fail 🥂

Got one for you. My aunt's friend got a Pekines and ended up pregnant. Sadly the mom didn't survive and only one of the puppies did. She couldn't take care of the puppy because she worked all day long. My aunt took the little puppy home. She had a cat at the time who just happened to had babies. So my aunt put the puppy with momma cat and kittens. Momma cat adopted her immediately. My aunt has pictures of them. Cuny, the little puppy, was a mini Pekines and she lived 18 years with my aunt and uncle. She was smaller than a regular cat and so protective of my aunt. She was so cute! If you were trying to hug my aunt she would come running from the other side of the house and pull your shoe laces. Sadly she past away on mother's day a few years ago. But thank to my aunt she had a good, loving, long life.

Dogs evolved from wolves so that man would accept them as part of his pack. One of the details that dogs have and wolves do not, are the eyebrows, and "the smile". Lots of atrophied facial muscles in wolves function in dogs, allowing them to mimic expressions that "make them human." Cats didn't need that for humans to love them, haha

Yes, they are. I've seen people working with animals to use buttons with words for communicating with humans. There is definitely a "someone home". But, I've always known that, since earliest childhood.

We had a male dog, and later on a small kitten. To our surprise, the dog started to 'mother' the kitten by letting it sleep against his belly, carry it back to the doggy bed and accepting all the crazy stuff like being bitten in his ear or tail. The dog always was so careful with the kitten, it was adorable.
Just shows that the mothering instinct surpasses species, she didn't care what they were she just knew they needed looking after and she was up to the job.
That dog would have forgotten about her puppies within months of having them and not cared if she ever saw them again. It’s cute to imagine they have real feelings but they don’t, it’s just biological instinct to care for young for a few months to ensure the survival of the species.
@@ChaosRocket Well apparently you've never been separated from an animal and reunited much later only for them to have missed you and remember you and literally remember exactly what you used to do with them. I know better bc I've seen incredible behavior from animals Every mother on earth if successful, will push their children out into the world and eventually into adulthood, even human mothers do this. That is the sign of a loving mother, a mother who tries to cling to their child and hold on, is holding back and robbing their child of what is natural and normal behavior. It's not healthy and it's bad parenting. You think animals are incapable of having true emotions and feelings, is just a lack of intelligence on your part. Yet you make your statement proudly bc true ignorance is not seen by the ignorant party. You just don't know what you don't know. Just bc a mother as an animal doesn't respond in some overly dramatic human representation of her children once they have become adults and moved on doesn't mean that they don't recognize or remember. They have had the occasion to behave with remembrance and affection across many species. They tend not to bc they understand that it isn't good for their kids. They understand that their children are independent adults at a certain point and they must let them go for them to be capable of the same joy derived from creating children for their own legacy. It simply isn't a sign of lacking in emotional intelligence, it's just a sign of selflessness and raw intelligence.
@@ChaosRocket Why does it need to be a yes or no? All animals are different like humans are. People are also (animals) just with a more developed brain. We can't mesure feelings but all life forms have instincts and feelings.

That's a really dangerously self-destructive level of wishful thinking. It's great that this situation worked out. her hormones were governing her..she sniffed the first one so knew it wasn;t her puppy, but immediately took care of it. The kitten in turn latched on to her in seconds.. hardwired as the film said to seek out the comfort of a mother figure. we had a pug when I was young. We got a kitten and it immediately started to latch onto our female pug.. who had never had a litter. Dad took the kitten to the vets to be check out and he said there is no harm to it.. the kitten wants comfort and it won;t harm either of them and will stop. It did.. around a week later.. both groomed each other from the off. Our lovely silly dog sat in her basket having her face and ears thoroughly cleaned.. lol.. she sat for ages.. however, she was the most odd dog not not liking to be petted by us.. after 30 secs she would lose interest and walk off.. lol.. Not with her cat. In short time they were inseparable. if my Mother took washing out to the line int he garden, the dot followed her and the cat followed the dog. lol.

Ikr. It broke my heart as well... Like how is it that people don't understand or care that dogs have the ability to suffer and feel pain?! How can people kill the male puppies on their first day of life and separate the female puppies from their mothers and feed them powdered supplements instead!? Especially when mother dogs react like how Milo did when she lost here babies..
As young teens, a friend and I once rescued a tiny, starving kitten we found standing in the rain, in the dark, under a small town traffic light. I got to keep it, but we both worked on figuring out how to get it to take nourishment. I also had a little dachshund, about 2 or 3 years old, spayed from the get go, never had puppies. Over the ensuing days, she adopted the kitten, allowed it to nurse, and even produced milk, tho it surely wasn't much. That cat lived to age 22 and probably would have lived longer except that a neighbor's new dog killed her. The dachshund died at age 14 of breast cancer.
We have four cats (same litter) from birth that are 15 years old next month. Then in 2017 we got our first dautchand and the second in March 2020, days before we had our first lockdown. The dogs love their cats, and only one of the cats is funny about them. He likes his personal space. The other five animals often like saying hello to one another. One of the cats went missing for a week last January/February and would eventually return home seemingly having eaten nothing in his absence. The younger of our dautchands was trying to get to him (had to feed him and give him a drink in moderation first) and christ was she happy to see him again. In fact she gets given a small amount of latte froth from my mums drink but that time she didn't even care about the drink, or the milk Mum tried getting the dautchand to drink. Though there is a sadder one from before we got the second one. We have had four guinea pigs over the years. Two separate pairs. One of the original had to be put to sleep due to cancer. It was too painful for her. Her partner completely changed and passed away a few short months later. Then in 2018, one of the second pair passed away leaving just the lone one left. We had her out of her home every day to interact with people to keep her active and social. She was sad without her sister but she quickly attached herself to the cats and dog. Like, this guinea pig would climb over three adult, sleeping cats to sit with them on their pet bed and just relax. They looked at her and just would go back to sleep. One of the cats would occasionally clean the guinea pig and we kept a close eye on them for obvious reasons. So when the pig would be brought out, she would be in a pet box carrier, with blankets and such. Our dog would always say hello to her... and clean the pigs uh droppings. I was more concerned that the guinea pig (Daisy btw) would bite Lily (older dautchand) than I was the other way around. Now I always said that Lily thought Daisy was a baby Dautchand, long body, sorta flappy ears and whatnot. Now unfortunately we needed to give Daisy to my sister, she had her own two new dautchands, and the three got along a lot. Around August of 2019, Daisy seemed to be in a lot of pain and it would turn out she had cancer that had wrapped around her organs. It was possible operation could work but she was five or six years old by then, lost her special partner and we decided that she would likely want to be reunited with her sister Fudge. So we put her to sleep at the vets. My sister and I were heartbroken. Daisy was returned home (here) to be buried near her sister. Using a similar pet box with a blanket that had Daisy's scent. While Daisy wasn't in the box, Lily was wagging her tail trying to put the blanket out to find her Daisy. I had to go inside because that broke my heart. She was desperately trying to find her little friend.
The mothering instinct is so strong. Milo needed those kittens as much as the kittens needed Milo. I’m super excited that Milo and Gumball could stay together. Bless the family that was lucky 🍀 enough to be her parents.

The most joyful n sweetest times in my life have to do with my cats. Cats r amazing, giving animals. Sometimes they'll leave ya a ghoulish present😈😈😈🐈🐈🐈😇😇🥰🥰🥳🦴🦴
As a human who lost a baby and found kittens, I can say that this works.
Fast forward to now. I have a human child of my own. And feline babies and canine babies. What a happy few we are.
I love this so much.
I am so glad for you.
I also have a human child now after 13 years of trying... but after I lost my first baby my hubby brought home a tiny, abandoned gray and black kitten I named Holden.. And that baby needed me, and over time healed my soul. Thank u Lord for sending Holden, may he RIP
sounds like a happy many
I was compelled to give up my baby as a teenager because that’s what they did in those days. I didn’t realize I was compensating by rescuing stray cats. Really got in over my head. Years later I had another baby and helped to heal.

No. This is crazy projection.
@@homes7073do you even know what projection means? This is literally how animals work
@@AnOriginalName500 Nah, you people just can’t make up your mind. And yet I didn't notice that... aaand goes my heart. ❤
Cross-species nursing is weird and cool at the same time. I've seen baby guinea pigs nursing from cats, cats nursing puppies, puppies and kittens with pigs...the list goes on. It just shows that a mother's love and instinct is to think: "This is a baby. It needs me."
Great vid.
Babies from most mammal species actually segregate specific pheromones which will drive mothering females to nurse them as their own
I know it's crazy and wonderful! I just watched a video a few weeks ago of a cat nursing a raccoon. And my grandma had a German shepherd mix when I was a kid who had a litter of puppies but also nursed a baby pig. The pig was identical size and color to her puppies so she was like yep your mine hop on. Lol

@@lightningphoenix3096 nature is still weird even if true. Sometimes it is brutal as well as kind.

This dog is just proof that a mother doesn't care what a child in need looks like, or sounds like. Only that the child is in need, and that a mother could be just the thing.
Once had a dog like this. She would bring home stray kittens she would find and be their mom. Cuddling, grooming, protecting, the works. Having many animals, they all show expressions if we care to see them. Thank you for observing
Dogs are very good at reading faces and they communicate with expressions as well.

A Mother's Love is Truly Powerful and Unconditional.
I'll never tire of saying humans could learn so much from animals.
You are absolutely right.
You know my saying? They say humans domesticated wolves, but i think they domesticated us.
@@protect_provide8031 THATS such an awesome saying and it’s true!
I mean... I love animals, especially dogs, but wild animals will tear their prey from limb to limb while they're still alive.
@@VeneficaDelirium remember, wild animals can become domestic.
With all the bad news in the world right now it's so nice to watch something heartwarming like this! Thanks for posting!
Underrated comment.
I'll never understand how anyone could possibly believe animals don't have feelings just like we do.
You are right. They have. They only can't reflect, think or talk about it. But that makes their feelings nothing less real nor important.
@@ChaosRocket Why does it need to be a yes or no? All animals are different like humans are. People are also (animals) just with a more developed brain. We can't mesure feelings but all life forms have instincts and feelings.
@@ChaosRocket lol let me guess you got 3 likes which typically has to be a muslim + hindu and a hillbilly
Mothering instincts are so strong. She just wanted to care for something. Everyone got something they needed. It's really special. Funny she favored one of them more. Just a great story. ❤
Beautiful story!!!!! Not everything is lost in this world. There is still a lot of kindness.
🥰
That's a really dangerously self-destructive level of wishful thinking. It's great that this situation worked out. But if it causes you to ignore just how much worse everything is everywhere else, and how much worse it can get than it currently is...then it's tricking you into being complacent, rather than encouraging you continue working towards real improvement.
@@DoremiFasolatido1979 rather a doom-laden comment! I don't want to think about how things could be a whole lot worse - I'd end up wanting to slit my own throat!
lmfao what? a mother dog nursing kittens? lmfao
@@jillemburey3214 Cause you usually think?
2:11 love how she flipped the kitten upside down
I lived on a hobby farm years ago with a variety of animals. One of the dogs was an extremely attentive mother. She would nurse piglets, goat kids, other dogs' pups including her own mother's pups. It's so beautiful to see 🥰
Heartbreaking for Milo to be mourning her babies, but when she knew that there were babies that needed a mama she stepped in like a pro❤
her hormones were governing her..she sniffed the first one so knew it wasn;t her puppy, but immediately took care of it. In short time they were inseparable. if my Mother took washing out to the line int he garden, the dot followed her and the cat followed the dog. lol.
Awww it was really heartbreaking to see her look for her puppies,it’s tragic that they died😢,I’m so glad she got them beautiful little kittens, her and the kittens deserve love and happiness🐶🐱🐻🦊🐯
I felt terrible for her when i seen that. God bless her.
Ikr. It broke my heart as well... Like how is it that people don't understand or care that dogs have the ability to suffer and feel pain?! Like how can people purposefully impregnate dogs to make money off of their bodies?! How can people kill the male puppies on their first day of life and separate the female puppies from their mothers and feed them powdered supplements instead!? These people are monsters for what they do to dogs and the people who buy their products & fund their business are just as monstrous.
I'm so sorry for what happened.
🥺😭😭😭😭
The mothering instinct is so strong. Milo needed those kittens as much as the kittens needed Milo. I’m super excited that Milo and Gumball could stay together. Bless the family that was lucky 🍀 enough to be her parents.
Sweetest mom ever! She needed babies and they needed a mom!❤❤❤
Aww her heart, and mine, was broken cause she couldn't find her babies, but then she had great hoomans on her side and they found her babies!! She ended up being able to be a momma!! I absolutely love this story ❤ 🐾❤
OMG. Her instincts as a mother, when looking for her babies (that sadly weren't there) was amazing. And the look she had when the kittens came along was again, amazing.
this has to be the sweetest dog, i pray she got the world's best home. people who would appreciate what an angel they have. she is amazing!
Agreed
What a beautiful story. Mama dog found comfort with the fur babies and was able to happily to use her mothering instincts with these kitties. The kitties had a mother, and they all ended up with forever homes.❤🩹❤🩹 They are all adorable 😇😇Thank you to the kind lady that made this happen 🙏🙏
You know what is the most sad? That a dog can see past what was different and be there for the kittens but us humans can't do the same. This shows that how much we as humans have alot to learn about compassion for one another.
Prejudice in humans is learned behavior, you can condition animals to hate something just like society does to humans.
@@J040PL7 it’s learned… from other humans, so the point stands that we have alot to learn still.
