The LetMeTalk App is a free AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) Talker App that allows nonverbal and emerging verbal talkers communicate with others.
It's highly parent and therapist friendly to allow children to make choices and incorporate academic and language skills no matter where you are. It allows families to each have access to the same language prompts no matter where they're at. Available on android and apple devices (including ipads).

It's come to my attention that LetMeTalk App might no longer be on android (it's currently missing from the google play store). I have found one that is similar, although I have not yet tried it myself. I will update this if it seems that it has come back to android, but as I have an iphone it may not be as quick so if you notice it back on android please let me know via comment! A new AAC app in place of let me talk is symbol talk AAC app I use let me talk for my 9 year old non speaking asd at home but at school they use the proluge to go apple AAC app but let me talk is what I use at home on my Kindle fire 8

Thank you so much for this video!! I have two children with non-verbal Autism (7 yrs apart), and I was trying to find the best Autism communication app where I was able to snap my own pictures. The cartoon looking version was a bit confusing and hard to understand for my kids since they don't see cartoon/drawings of objects/food in everyday life. AAC Talker seems like the perfect app! Hi there, I was wondering if there is a way to make sub folders within a folder? I work with a boy in grade 1 and I've made a classroom folder but would love to streamline it and make subfolders within that folder.

Hi Terrie, I have been playing around with the parent controls as they do seem to have them, but I honestly haven't figured it out yet. When I enable the parent controls it doesn't seem to filter out any specific content or make the "add/search" content locked. Their website seems to be down right now as well. I know they are a donation based company so hopefully they are still working on the app. if you'd like to email their support line is contact@appnotize.de -- if you do please let me know what they say!
Has anyone written to the company behind the Let Me Talk app and heard about what happened?
I am a teacher at a special school in Denmark and have used the app for some of our students. I chose this one when I could read that it was fund-based and we as a school have no unimaginable financial resources. We have been really happy with this app and I am sad that the app no longer exists.
Hi Michael, I have not emailed them but I understand your concerns. I will note that it IS available for use on apple devices (which I own and just verified it’s still there). I have heard it is no longer on android and when checking the google play store I am not able to find it. I am able to find symbotalk but I have not personally tried this app - if your school is android only or if you find family members are mostly android it may be worth a try.

I have not. I am not sure if there is a capability to do this but can look into it a bit more. I am out of service for the next few weeks but will add this to my to dos for mid August! Let me know if you happen to figure it out first!
are you able to temporarily hide a button that is not accessible in real life at that time (for example, a certain snack that the child cannot have in that moment?)
Hi Nicole, I tried and couldn’t figure it out. I know that SymboTalk app seems to have more privacy settings and parental control options. I did try to do what you’re asking on SymboTalk and couldn’t figure it out within a few minutes but I do know they have a lot more options so maybe try YouTubing SymboTalk and see if you can find some more answers or options. I just downloaded SymboTalk a bit ago so I’m still new at it.

I have a problem with LetMeTalk, which appears black. It isn't the dark mode of my patient Ipad. It's as if there was a black wallpaper, with all the lines of the drawings appearing white. Do you have an idea about that, and the way to come back to the normal colors ? Thank you very much.

Hi Zygielle, That is a bummer to have happen. I have not had that happen to me, and I just checked my app and it seems to be working normally. My suggestions would be to see if you could turn the phone/ipad on/off and see if it would work after that. If not, unfortunately you may have to delete and re-load, which would be tough if you have photos added to the app already (I would see if you could download them but I haven't had to do that). I'm worried if you delete the app and re-load it that you would essentially have to re-do everything that you had created. I wish the developers were still supporting customers, but their website still seems to no longer be functional. Sorry I'm not much help!
@@DrLaurenBaker Thank you for your answer. I have already turned the I pad on /off...and reloaded. Nothing changed. I suppose that my patient did something on his Ipad that I cannot find/control...

Can you enlarge the pictures and if so, how do you do that?
Hi Rhoda, you would go to settings (gear icon) and scroll to the bottom and there are three choices for image sizes.

I am French. I would like to add a pictogram to a new category (not in the category). I do not find how to do that. Is this possible ? Thank you !
Hi Zygielle! Thanks for the comment, you would click the + button on the top right hand corner after clicking into the new folder and the options that come up allow you to add pictures from:
-your camera roll
-search (this is the pictograms but you have to first type what you’re looking for)
-take a photo in real time using your camera

I found the way to add a picture on the category (I want to have a picture on the folder, not in the folder). It is a progress, but I would like to put ON the folder a picture that is not a pictogram arasaac, but a photography (in order to be consistent with the pictograms my patient is accustomed to. Is there such a possibility ?
@@zygiellearanee6867 Unfortunately, it does not look like you're able to, which is super weird since you can use that function within the folder, so it's a bummer they haven't added it to the folder itself. Unfortunately, I haven't found a way to contact the developers since their website is no longer live :(

Hi Mauricio, this is so weird, I'm not 100% sure where it went (it looks like their website is down too?). I know they are donation based so hopefully they're doing ok! I found another option that looks similar that is available for android that hopefully helps. Hi Nadine, I’m honestly not sure what is going on with the android version and am so sorry it is gone. Have you checked out the pinned post for the other alternative app that is on android (it’s linked in the pinned comment for everyone). I need to download it myself to check it out. Hi Ali! It still shows up on my apple app but I do believe it is no longer available via android which is unfortunate. Check out the pinned comment for an alternative. I dont think the app developers are continuing to support the app though so that is something to keep in mind.
