Snap + Core First is 1/5 the price of Proloque and just as complete of a communication app. Highly recommend. Have also used GoTalk Now in the past. It’s pretty good but not as complete. JABtalk is pretty good for Android.
I second Snap + Core First. I’ve used both that and Proloque at my local autism center. While I prefer Proloque over everything else, it is expensive, and Snap is just about as good and far cheaper.
My little brother is four years old and he hasn’t said a phrase yet, he only says give sometimes when he wants something, but he doesn’t always use words, I really hope that he would grow to be like you or at least know how to speak. I just really want to hear him speak we are all so worried for him and I have been crying while watching this video, thank you for the video
My 3 year old son has pdd-nos, adhd, and spd (still can't talk yet, he's still on occupational and speech therapy). All of your informations about autism are so helpful. Thank you so much🙏🏽
I just turned 18 so im finally able to look for an official autism diagnosis and while i guess i fall more towards "high functioning" i think im just a better masker because i have a lot of needs despite being seen as "smart", i have verbal capabilities but sometimes when im depressed or anxious or scared or in pain i cant actually talk even if i want or need to, even when i get excited i have trouble so i started looking into cards/apps and asl for my non-speaking moments
I have autism. I usually struggle talking to people, specially strangers. I get extremely anxious and uncomfortable I can't drag the words out... Is very inconvenient since it happens all the time, even with some friends. This is very handy, thank you so much!
I’m a parent Thank you for the reccomendations You seem to have the suggestions that even so called health care professionals can’t offer due to lack of proper knowledge and education on autistic children Well done !
Hey I’m a parent to a 4yo nonverbal autistic son He used to say so much he is in ABA therapy but I do think more help won’t hurt I just want him to speak fluently one day!! Hopefully be like you!! ❤❤❤❤ I pray every single day!!! 😊
Proloquo is,aweso.e for learning to speak! My child often can speak a word that she learned to use on Proloquo a week before! Her vocabulary is exploding!
An important point is that autistic people who were never entirely non-verbal can veer towards brief or lengthy episodes of being non-verbal. As an example, I had a co-worker yesterday pressing me to answer his questions and I just didn't have the spoons then to answer verbally.
100%. My mum was telling me about the verbal autistic son of a friend of hers and there are are periods where he just doesn't speak. Apparently he hasn't spoken to his mum in 2 months. I couldn't imagine not speaking for that long; i'm the opposite of non verbam I'm super verbal
Hi Dan. My name is Brittany. I am an autistic young woman. I have aspergers and sensory processing disorder. I can become non verbal when im very stressed and so I always keep a few different AAC apps on all my electronic devices so that i have options and choice if i am non verbal temporarily and need to communicate. some times i wont be non verbal but will play around with the apps. they are quite fun. I love your channel and i make videos too! Mine are about books and also autism/aspergers related content as well. thank you for this wonderful channel! I would love to see a video on communication devices, and cases for those devices. and which ones you would reccomend and why. thanks for reading my comment.
The random camera angle changes were funny to me x,D very random. Thank you for this video though! My son is under diagnosis and is not speaking at the age of 4.
I’m working to become a mental health professional/social worker, but I also have cousins with ASD who are verbal. I do know that individuals with ASD sometimes find it easier to communicate using apps even if they are verbal, so I was curious!
My beautiful son is 3.5 has autism and is non verbal Thank you very helpful 😁 what do you recommend iPad with app or a podd book or does it depends on the person? X
Watch the new tonight but didn't get all the information the boy had done a picture app for his brother which I think could help my granddaughter and my friends son as he is non verbal and we don't have the fund buy the ones you have talked about.
Hey I watch as much as I can my daughter was just diagnosed with autism and they are saying she's non verbal I would love some advice she has just also prek was do see an approvment but still no talking
This is probably much later than you expected a comment, but I am very probably on the spectrum, as is my partner and our son, and as was my father, all suspected. I do have an ADHD diagnosis and am weighing up whether there's any point in getting assessed for autism. I don't want to use up NHS resources irresponsibly so I'm not sure. I think it would be good to know either way.
I'm a parent of a 9yo boy that has autism and is non verbal. I have been looking for a communication device for him. However alot of them seem very American centric, us being scottish and as far away from American english as you can get this is not helful for us. Watching your video in hopes that I might find one that will be useful for him to have a voice. People don't realise that some non verbal people may understand more than mets the eye. My hope is that he can finally express himself for everyone to understand him when he needs them to. Pec to speech would be very helpful 🤞
My son is partially verbal, he can tell you in a word or 2 what he wants but couldn't make a full sentence. At his school they use PODD ( not an app it's a book thing). Do you have any apps to help progress language or speech?
I’m trying to find a app just like this but not crazy expensive like I seen so far I have a friend who is 59 years old and is completely deaf and I do believe that this app would help him out
I have autism and adhd. Not sure if a communication app is something that would be helpful for me, but my brain is latched on and I’m doing my little hyperfixation rabbit hole deep dive.
I am a medical student hoping to learn some more about nonverbal communication. I'm curious to see what resources work well for people (and what resources don't)
I have very light autism but it’s still enough to affect my ability to speak at times, I also have light adhd so that also doesn’t help just in general
My daughter is accelerating with lamp because she can spell anything. Is there a way to mainstream into regular apps? She is 5 and can spell in many languages.
I'm a Parent & my Son is chronologically 28 & counting. I've been offered choice in communication apps & confused how to know differences & most beneficial or are apps truly equal idk?
I do really like to know how hon were as a toddler, a child growing into this world. I have a 3 year old that isn’t talking and Doesn’t understand danger
Family member of the most amazing brother with autism, he is non verbal and I really appreciate u sharing the apps I look forward to giving them a try!!

I have Aspergers, PTSD, and severe anxiety. I like finding things through your channel to make it easier for me to deal with social situations.
If your current doc is using Aspergers, find a new one because they arent using really up to date information
Why is YT showing that there is a reply but refuses to actually bring it up when we tap on the icon
..
So irritating
My brother is recently nonverbal due to cancer also he is dyslexic. I am a professional in the field also.
As someone with Aspergers and possible OCD you’re honestly such an inspiration for me. Keep up the good work, Dan!
I am grandma looking to help my non verbal grandson. This was so helpful and you are inspiring 🥰❤
Try 5HTP,strong probiotics, speech intervention...
My 3 year old son has pdd-nos, adhd, and spd (still can't talk yet, he's still on occupational and speech therapy). All of your informations about autism are so helpful. Thank you so much🙏🏽

I am a parent who has Autism, just like you Dan. My daughter is 17 and it's not been easy raising her with me having Autism.
Twice per year ProLoQuo2 is 1/2 off! In April during Autism awareness month, then again I believe in October. My 4yo uses this AAC program very well.
