    The really good thing about this Drum Major beside actually conducting vice just keeping time, is he didn't have to die in the show! Phantom Regiment has had a serious problem with high Drum Major mortality rates over the years.....

    His conducting is just so beautiful that I get this overwhelming feeling that I want to throw up. I genuinely love his conducting style. I wish he could be immortal and conduct for phantom forever!

      Mikayla S Even if he were immortal, he'd have to age out some day.

    I honestly think that Dean patterson is one of the best drum majors of the last decade. Even if it does take four minutes to take out his baton.

      Mark Miller when the drum major shows more emotion following the music, the musicians will put more emotion into the music, making it infinitely better.

      Him and Koji are the best Phantom conductors of the 2000s.

    I love this because unlike traditional drum corps conducting this is very like orchestral conducting in which the conductor not only keeps time but directs the ensemble. I wish all marching conducting could be like this :P

    There is much emotion as this drum major is conducting and that is what makes a drum major a drum major. They are what the band expresses as they play and the conductor shares that to the audience. Plus you have to be the representative of your band if you are a drum major. What your actions are as a drum major people will judge the band as having the same actions as you do. There are many things to being a good drum major.

    I think it's kinda cool, it can always either add suspense or enthusiasm into the show.

    That's an odd way to conduct 6/8. I should try that out next time I get the opportunity.

    • @dansullivanstudios
      @dansullivanstudios 10 років тому

      It's really just a subdivided three. with the + of one going in.

    • @Pandolin11
      @Pandolin11 10 років тому +2

      Pretty sure this is 6/4, not 6/8. The notes don't have the triplet feel of 6/8.

    • @johntester861
      @johntester861 10 років тому

      It's a subdivided three pattern. Nimrod is in a slow 3

    • @Pandolin11
      @Pandolin11 10 років тому +1

      It could still be interpreted as a 6/4 if you were just listening to the music and watching the conducting. :) Without the sheet music, it's practically the same thing.

    • @Araxen232
      @Araxen232 7 років тому

      in my experience, this is the easiest way to slowly conduct 6/8
