I'm so glad Graham Norton is still doing his talk show! I love the variety of celebrities that come together for each show. It's simply the best talk show for actors and musicians.
I grew up in East Yorkshire and we sometimes said "Are you larking?" or refer to larking about meaning playing. I wonder if it comes from the same root. I'm guessing it does.
@@albertsnijders7566 Definitely not. Alfred the Great’s children and grandson basically conquered what was “the Danelaw” and unified England when Athelstan took Northumbria, which was as early as 927AD.

I once heard about that word lakers. But I didn't get the original meaning. Had to do with a homework my sister had and she couldn't type...so I had to type for her. This went on for two years at least. I wanted to end her. My mother insisted I type for her. Wouldn't have been so bad, if she hadn't decided to change everything while reading it to me
I'm not one for formality or spending tons on clothes, etc. & this is just my opinion, but Ralph Fiennes looks really nice, Sir Patrick looks comfortably nice, but (& again, I'm not into this stuff so I could be UTTERLY WRONG) Bella Ramsay looks like it's a common Saturday hanging out with friends. Layton Williams...I think would look really nice except it seems like the suit was hung under a tree for a week. Why on earth? Is there a reason for this? Also... Layton's bit about accents wasn't included, apparently :/

@chilidrummer. Beckham and Statham just have run of the mill London accents even though Statham was born in Derbyshire. Nothing major about that. Not even Cockney

It really is. I loved his show for the smae reason. Too bad I cut cable and don't have BBC anymore.
I could listen to Ralph Fiennes’s voice forever 🫠
Reminds me of Ewan McGregor's voice.
I could listen to Ralph Fiennes talk about accents all day. He always come across as incredibly shy, yet very sweet at the same time.
Some of my favorite actors! Patrick, Bella and Voldemort!
You mean he who shall not be mentioned
DON'T SAY HIS NAME!
Aaaah yeah. My good friend Tom. Lol
Professor X, Voldy and some ladies.
Lek means to play in Swedish and other Scandinavian languages. Cool to see such connections jump out between Old English and Old Norse.
Viking heritage, after all , England has been "Danish" for about 400 years I believe.

Also ta sounds very much like tak, the Danish word for thanks or thank you.
Yep, toy brand LEGO is short for the Danish expression 'leg godt', which means 'play well'.

Is that how Ralph Twisleton-Wykeham-Fiennes of the landed gentry with a family castle has always spoken? Yes, yes it is 😂
The way they leant over like two attentive grandfathers 🥹
Jeez what a bench. Piccard, Little bear and Voldemort 😂
In all seriousness definitely some of my fav actors
So Professor X, Lyanna Mormont and Voldemort walked in a bar...
😂
Captain Picard, Amon Göth, and Ellie walk into a bar...
Bella has such 'easily-distracted corgi' energy lol.
Hiya Lovlies, Ralph Fiennes re the accent soo true. Be proud and never lose. 🇨🇦🐝

From the moment i was born 😄
This is how Voldermot, Lyanna Mormont and Professor Charles having their tea time together.
Yorkshire "leck" is probably norse, we say "lek" in swedish or "att leka" to describe children playing
Well Old English was incredibly similar to Old Norse…before it was ruined by the Normans. 😂
@SunnyDaze-uq8ed “Enriched”, sure.
Bella was amazing in Got.
Patrick's line reminds me of Oz.The one that would pray something like Asam Adam Lacom.
From tye moment i was born..that was very voldemort like
Sir Patrick said the same story on Conan’s podcast 😊
THanks.
Ok...help me here please... do the British pronounce the name "Ralph" as "Rafe?" It sounds like that's what Graham said.
Some people do. And sometimes it's spelled Rafe. Other times ordinary Wreck It Ralph. It's a class thing. He's very posh.
Thank you 😊
I think it's just some old fashioned pronunciaton.

It's pretentious nonsense! They hate 'Ralph' because they think it sounds common!
I can't tell if Bella is yoked or if they simply have normal sized arms on a smaller human frame
I am still searching for the acetate frame of Patrick's eye glasses. Thanks for helping me.
If you live in Minneapolis, the REAL home of the Lakers.
Who here can name off the top of their head a film where Patrick and Ralph played father and son?

Layton Williams😌

Umm, her name is Bella Ramsey with an e, no?
Kinda think the word might be older than that. Sounds kinda Norse to me
yeah we use it in scandinavia

Bella Ramsey, the next Elliot Page.
