    For me, as a guy, the first thing that I notice is technically looks, but I don't think about a relationship with someone based on looks, though. I might be like "oh, she's attractive", but then I go about my day. However, a girl's mind is the part that hooks me. Like, if she can have deep philosophical conversations and share theological insights, that's INCREDIBLY attractive! (For me)

    As a Christian single guy, I agree with pretty much all of Paul's answers. The only thing I would add about a girl having a career is that I would be more looking to see what kind of work ethic she has and how she goes about her current job, more than I would does she have a good career. It would be comforting to know that you have a spouse who is a hard worker and you know she will always do whatever it takes to help out her family.

    • @anncoron6562

      Blake Weaver interesting! Do money care how money money we make? Do they care if we are in a leadership role?

    • @blakeweaver6255
      @blakeweaver6255 4 роки тому +12

      @@anncoron6562 For me, her income wouldn't play a major factor. Now I wouldn't be opposed to sugar mama. lol But I have my own job, so I'm not to concerned with how much money a girl makes. I've personally never had one of my friends say this was a big deal when they first met their wife or girlfriend.
      I guess it depends on how you define a leadership role. If that means she wears the pants and makes all the decisions, then NO! But I personally don't believe the man should be the dictator style leader either. I've seen some guys go this route in their marriage, and they have a lot of issues because of it. God created a man and woman to work together in the book of Genesis. That is why God refers to Woman as a helper in Genesis 2:18. (Gen. 2:18 (ESV) - Then the LORD God said, “It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him.) The word helper is used about 20 ish times in the bible. 2 times it describes a woman, and the other 20ish times it is used to describe God. Do a study on the Hebrew word for Helper "`ezer" in this passage, it is very fascinating. In my own opinion of course.
      I think good leaders know when to lead, and they know when to follow. You have to be good at both in my personal opinion. I naturally like to lead so for me this is the role that I would want to take on in marriage one day, but I also realize there are going to be areas that she will be better at than me. Leadership is not about having the only say, but knowing how to come to the best outcome by working with the people you trust around you. (Spoken like someone who is not married, so this all sounds rational in theory. lol) If I met someone who was very domineering and trying to lead me all the time, for me personally that would not be a good fit.

      @UA-cam Responder thank you for posting the exact source material; i know where to look for more information. i, too, am frustrated by seemingly systematic aversion to this topic. jewish interpretation of the Torah laws tends to agree with St. Augustine in this manner. in light of Passover, i've recently learned a few interesting bits of consent and where/how women celebrate Passover. there's a lot more freedom than one would think in this situation, and Passover is understood to be one of the pivotal high holidays for women.
      if i may summarize years of jewish, rabbinic, and Torah studies, Passover is a holiday where the participants receive love and protection; it's a holiday of receiving, not giving. women are believed to be called to receive gifts of love and protection in a special way. out of the abundance of the gifts (love, attention, conversation, affection, etc.) received, women are then able to give and share of themselves. a practical example provided by a teacher of mine was after she received the gifts of her students attending class, participating, completing homework assignments, etc., she was able to give better feedback on papers/tests, explain things in a manner those specific students would understand, alter the lesson pacing, and so on.
      i know it sounds kinda weird as how i'm explaining it, but it's the best i can do right now.

      Yes! 😭 Please address this. Ever since Nate from the Nate and Sutton channel said he really wanted a virgin wife, and was so happy to have found one, I've been left feeling a little low because I was sexually abused from the ages of 8ish to 14 and am not a virgin. It just makes me wonder how many Christian guys would say no to me if they knew I was not a virgin. 🤷🏼‍♀️ That was not helpful to hear. I keep wondering if he would have turned Sutton down if she had not been a virgin.

      @@MyBeautifulLord so sorry to hear about your experience. What a lot of people, esp Christians, don't address is how abuse like this can affect you later. In the moment , for years, it can be like, somehow this is normal and ok. And maybe it only hurts to ride bikes for a few weeks here and there but it's fine and maybe he's someone you also love, like a friend or family member. Later on, this can cause so much guilt because wtf you should have stopped it. Right?! It can really mess with your brain. Future sexual experiences can be so terrifying and difficult to allow... But there is absolutely hope. The most important thing is to allow God to lead you to someone... In my experience, to the perfect person (though severely flawed lol) who respects you so much he can hear where you are coming from and you slowly learn together how to figure these things out. It will likely be difficult. But you earn so much safety and security in a relationship like that.

    Q: Do guys care about whether or not girls tell their friends all the details about dates/phone calls, etc?
    A: I don't know about ALL the details, but it's fine to talk about a fun time or share a lesson learned. No big deal.
    Q:DO guys groom "down there?"
    A:My understanding is a fair number do. That may have more to do with the influence what is seen in porn though. I personally do not, and was not comfortable last time I tried to. But in my mind, once I'm married, my wife will also technically own my body. If she wants some maintenance down there, it'll happen.
    Q:Do guys judge girls by their jobs?
    A: My mindset is similar to what Paul basically said. If something IS going to bother me about it, it's going to be because the job is taking a large part of who she is, her time and energy, etc away from where it perhaps should be. (example: Not sure I could be married to a CEO of a company who works 60-80 hours a week and travels a lot, or a firefighter who is gone half the nights every month. That being said, I put the same standards on myself I won't take a job that takes me away from family mentally or physically for extended periods of time, or that requires my heart to not be focused on being a good husband and father to do well.)
    Q: Why do guys find boobs so attractive?
    A: I think when God made Eve as a perfect partner for Adam, the "glory of Man," He built her to be beautiful; to exhibit the finer qualities of humanity. He also built differences into her body that Adam would appreciate. Before sin warped our ability to appreciate physical beauty, Adam had a perfect appreciate for Eve's body, and vise versa. After the Fall, there are sinful and unsinful appreciations of those differences, but the initial attraction is there. In short, Man was especially was made to be attracted to the differences God made Woman with. :) (And yes, we're very thankful for those differences.)
    Q:Do guys really have the need to lead?
    A:It's more of a duty, and obligation. It's not a "need" if it's at a healthy level, but a guy should take final responsibility for those hard choices or for spiritual growth. Like Paul said, it'd be easy to sit back and not do that.
    Q: How can we nicely tell you you need to dress better?
    A: Either be straightforward and lovingly just say it. Or take a more subtle approach and wait til they're wearing something good, then complement them heavily on it and mention that they look good in clothes like that. (Ask if they have other shirts like that, etc) If it's really really bad, go to Good Will and get some cheap stuff that looks better for them. In a relationship, the straightforward approach is probably ok, but perhaps start with the subtle.
    Q: Looks or personality for first attraction?
    A:For the very first interaction, looks, yes. But for me, if that attraction is going to stay very long or grow at all, the personality is key.
    And sometimes it's a mix. One time, we were playing a guys vs girls game. I noticed that the girl I liked at the time was the ONLY girl on the girls team that had knee-length shorts. It wasn't a huge deal, but the modesty made me like her even more, and went with her awesome personality. :)
    Good video guys. Looking forward to the Patron call! :D (P.S. I like Paul's Goatee, but the sideburns aren't quite ready to look 100%)

      I'm not sure quite what you mean by eager, but if a guy doesn't know you well yet, being overly excited around them might be taken the wrong way. It's hard to know how to interpret what is going on and what to do about it, if that makes sense. Once they know you better, know what makes you excited, and what your intentions are, that isn't really a problem. Especially in a relationship.

    Great video as usual, looking forward to part three! I just felt compelled to touch on this topic:
    When it comes to a woman’s line of work, hopefully she’s following God’s purpose for her life, in which case it may not just be a job for her but her calling. I’m not a firefighter but I have a similar demanding career that does take me away from many special occasions, holidays, nights/days from my family and friends. It’s hard but I know that this is what God made me for and it’s my ministry in a way. Even with my demanding work life, I still desire marriage and maybe even kids one day. Now, I can’t change my calling but only trust the Lord to work everything out for my good and the good of His kingdom. I understand that a husband and kids would rather have mom home more instead of working long hours and vice versa. But the reality is for some careers, Firefighters, Paramedics, Military, Police, Nurses/Doctors (careers of service), they’re not necessarily away from family by choice or for the money (it’s another issue if they’re consciously pulling extra shifts for money or to avoid family). If someone is intentionally choosing to work more and neglect their responsibilities at home by choice, irregardless of whether they’re male or female, that’s an issue that should be addressed.
    My point in all this is, yes I agree with the notion of being present, working less, putting God and family first but there are those who have to make some sacrifices for the good of their communities, State, Country and humanity as a whole.
    Christian brothers, please don’t be so quick to judge a woman based on her career path or dismiss a good relationship because her work is too demanding and you can’t see how things would work with her working so much. If the relationship is meant to be, trust God to help and guide you both in utilizing the times you do have together to do even more then maybe you would if you had all the time in the world. Also, don’t be threaten because she might be in a male dominated career. Trust in the Lord and trust each other. Communication is key!

He wants to get to know you on a deeper level, and to explore how the two of you work together. The second part of your question varies widely depending on the situation, how intentional you two are, how you handle conflict, etc.

    To elaborate on the last question: physical attraction is huge but it isn't everything. A girl who is a 10 at first glance can easily be brought down to a 2 if she has an awful personality. On the other hand, a girl who is a 6 or 7 can easily be brought up to an 8 or 9 if you two click and she has a great personality. Looks spark an attraction, but it's sustained by the personality. And to be honest, I don't think girls view it much differently.

    Hi Paul and Morgan! I've just found your channel and have absolutely LOVED watching your Christian dating videos and advice and to just see some great role models like yourselves talking about how you can honor God through relationships. I have another question that girls might be too afraid to ask guys which is what is the best thing you can do for your man if you know something is wrong or troubling him? A lot of people tell me it's best to just leave a guy alone when he is upset about something but I was wondering what a guy genuinely wants to hear from their girl when they are upset or what we should do when they are upset. like, give them a hug or something idk lol. Let me know what you think!

    • @zogly9469
      @zogly9469 4 роки тому +2

      That varies a little depending on the guy, and a lot based on the situation. If you're just acquaintances or friends, I'd stick to the usual "I'm sorry, I'll be praying for you" unless they ask for your help. (Actually pray if you say that though.) If you're in a romantic relationship, you have more room to give a comforting hug, and they are (hopefully) more open about what is wrong. In general, and especially in marriage, be supportive and loving, respect their space if they need it, and be there to talk and understand when they're ready to talk about it. (Let them know that you're there for them whenever they're ready.)

    • @orpheusasmr9858

    Great job you guys! Paul you did a good job representing guys!! Can you guys do another video on questions guys have for girls too??, I really enjoyed this video. I would like to know how do guy lose respect for a girl? Like do guy just think a girl is overreacting whenever she gets mad, over little things?

    • @zogly9469
      @zogly9469 4 роки тому

      On a basic level, you're a person, and should always have the respect that comes with that. But past that, it depends on what you mean by respect. If, for example, you mean respect as in a healthy appreciation of you, how you look, etc...If you showed up in booty shorts and a crop top, I'm probably going to avoid you for my sake, and to try to protect the respect I'm supposed to have for you. In a relationship, I think one of the big ones is trying to control him too much, or not communicating what you think and what you want clearly.

    As a Christian guy, yes, guys, you should try to dress well if you are trying to attract a girl. Yes, demonstrating a Christ-like character in your behavior is much more important that how you dress. However, I would be lying if I did not admit that I have overheard numerous girls comment on that the fact that there is truth to the old Z. Z. Top song line, "Every girl's crazy about her sharp dressed man."

    Something that came to my mind later is that where I live it's very rare to find a man who wants his wife to stay home. It's a very career-drive, fast paced area (I live in the DC Metro area). I desire to be a housewife and raise children, always have, since I was very young. But finding a godly Christian man is hard enough not to mention one who actually WANTS his wife to stay home and raise a family! As hard as this has been for me, I've learned to be more content and rely on Christ more. I've become more happy and satisfied with my life as it is. I still desire marriage and a family but it's not an idol anymore. :)

    I feel like unless a girl is literally blatantly unattractive, her looks don't have too much bearing on my decision of whether or not I like her. Same for men. If a man is not necessarily "attractive" but not really "unattractive" then I don't see any reason for him to not have a shot at a girl.
