most likely those young men were blessed with a strong support system. I was lucky to have both parents in my life and have my teachers believe in me, when I see other dudes in my neighborhood with less fortunate they fell in the same path the young man in the video did.
To make it, discipline and support go a long way 💪🏾

I had jury duty a few years ago. I saw a lady screaming in the hall way crying her eyes out. I was trying to understand what was going on. Then, this lady turned around and told me they just gave the lady's son life in prison at 23 years old for murder. I was like whoa. This is happening every day.

I grew up in Compton. I can understand following the wrong crowd. At some point however, you know right from wrong. If your household does not teach you, then school will. Then you make a choice to either live a lawful life, or the life of a criminal. I went to Compton High for four years and saw many of my classmates get shot, get killed or end up locked up. I chose college and a career.

Empathy is a hard skill, but its valuable. What he did is truly terrifying, but it is not up to me or you to decide his punishment, he has had his punishment placed onto him. All we can do is understand how and why to prevent events like this from happening again in the future, and all he can do is inform young men in a similar spot the reality of that life. Brutal. From a spiritual point of view it’s hard for me to make sense of this. What is the purpose of this life when you are set up to fail from the beginning like this man was? I do know that we all have to go through pain and darkness in order to grow. But the circumstances of this man’s struggles are hard for me to understand. It seems from this video that he has begun his awakening, which is beautiful to see, but man what a rough circumstantial life journey.

I grew up in a tough area but stayed out of the mix. Knew all the players, just didnt do business. Kept it real,no issues, no biases all respect. What i gave i got back. That being said there are times just through association things go sideways. When things get violent and volatile you dont know. Shit happens 5 seconds can change your life. Surroundings pull you in. A good strong man pushes you away. I was more scared of my dad then the gangster down the street. Another thing is era. I am 62 so in my time people respected your decision. Easy to go bad though. Telling his story, can’t even feel sorry for him. No excuses! It’s clear that he’s hurt and caused trauma to so many innocent people he encountered for his own selfish gains. He was robbing/assaulting people in the community daily. Imagine poor women and men going about their day and dude robbed them, beat them up, broke into their cars/homes/businesses etc. Eventually, he killed someone. Took a life so it’s only fair that his is taken. I don’t care how changed he is now because it’s too late. Pretending to be cool, religious, spiritual etc only because he’s locked up without any other option is comical. Should’ve found his ‘calling’ a few years ago and avoiding a lifetime of incarceration without the possibility of parole. I feel sorry for the victim’s family. All his victims didn’t deserve coming into contact with him. Good riddance!

Devon T. White and James Wesley Trotter followed Hye Soon Oh to her home where White robbed and shot Oh, killing her, while Trotter waited nearby in a getaway car. A jury found both defendants guilty of special circumstance murder. On appeal, we reject White's contentions that instructional errors require reversal of the judgment. However, we agree with Trotter that there was insufficient evidence to support the special circumstance as to him. We therefore reverse the judgment as to Trotter but affirm it as to White.

@jayloc116 I did 17 yrs in prison state yes we had trees . Maybe your not familiar with a lot of state prisons .that's very naive of you to make this statement. In California no trees.. that's why I said that . Cus it sucks for them.. all they look at is desert tf .don't make dumb statements
