Link with his machinegun riding across apocalyptic wastelads on his Mastercycle.
Where's that DAMN fourth Triforce shard!
@@Spinner891 triforce got machine-gunned, now you gotta find them all
Why not? Just do what they did with the motor bike and have some kind guardian tech based ranged weapon, not to crazy of an idea
Now that I think about it, the technology in BotW was super high tech, so why not make an entire game in a hyper futuristic setting? Like, without as much ruined landscape.
Oh man Arlo, weird timing. I've been thinking about a BoTW sequel all day today.
Design Doc I think about it all day everyday for the past 3 years.
They are making a new Zelda game in the works already
steven bowen They just announced Link’s Awakening remake so it prob wont be until 2021
I'm assuming that's a different team but it doesn't look good for a BoTW sequel until maybe mid 2020 at the earliest.
Yeah it's also been said by some sources that they will indeed build on the phenomenal engine/structure, which they built with Botw. So with the next Zelda title it's almost guranteed.
So what should they improve or add? Story and atmosphere could be definitely better, but how exactly is something that depends on what specific hook/theme they want to focus on, so I'm not gonna speculate. Though if they want to finally make a game that plays during the great civil war for the triforce (just before Oot) , I'd be all for it.
What Botw lacked from a gameplay standpoint though were meaty, engaging dungeons and greater weapon or rather Item variety and please for the love of god more than 10 enemies!
I also agree with Arlo's idea of crafting, but I have a lot more to elaborate on this. For one, they should take inspiration from past titles in regards to all the negative critics/points I mentionned. Skyward sword already took some small steps toward repairing and upgrading Items, but not nearly enough, hell Link between worlds did better in this regard. Another unique aspect I would like to be expanded upon is combining Items. L.A. had the first instance of Bomb arrows and the pegasus Long jump, but what I would like to see would be stuff like having the Shock,Quake and Bombos medallions as components which can be assigned/fused to weapons to grant them said effects, same with the typical elements.
You could also have a Equip system for Items like Whips, Hookshot or even Gust bellows. The first could get a hammer head or Sickle to make a ball and chain or Chain-sickle. The hook shot could get anything from the standart arrow like point, that only lodges into wood at first, to the grapple for grates, ladders, vines, fur, branches and poles to very hard hook that even pierces and lodges itself into stonewalls. The gust bellows could work like the Poltergust or be filled with stuff like Bombs, special arrows or even offensive chemicals/poisons you could "cook"/concoct.
It also should be possible to make dungeons like past titles, where you can find different items beyond the starting area. Introduce Minibosses with these Item which appear frequently after their first appearance.
A Sequel to Breath of the Wild with the hookshot/grappling hook item i'd buy it.
Yes please. If I can't swing around like spiderman with real rope physics with an updated hookshot then by god I don't want any part of it! I won't buy it.
But everybody else will buy it.
I'll buy it anyway
spider Link for spiderverse
A seqquel to "Breath of the Wild" but you can pet the dogs
issue with that though is you don't need those in BotW, if there is a cliff you just climb it.
@@DaWoWzer Exactly. It would largely defeat one of the core mechanics of the game and I've thought since I first played it, when I didn't really know anything about it, that there was no way it would have a hookshot after seeing how climbing worked.
I like this puppet. This puppet is good. Also, can we get a sci-fi Zelda game set in Hyrule's distant future?

If Zelda and Link went on a Adventure together they could finally give us a playable Zelda.
I would love another DLC for Breath of the Wild, with Link needing a special item to help rebuild Hyrule after the war.
I remember the gameplay sections in Spirit Tracks where you had to switch between link and a Zelda possessed armour in order to traverse the dungeon. Or a similar mechanic in Wind Waker in the 2 dungeons of the latter half of the game. I would absolutely ADORE to see Link and Zelda working together translated into gameplay!
That seems pretty cool concept
Two words my friend. Zelda’s Adventure

Premise for a BotW sequel:
Zelda gets to work on research about breaking the cycle of Ganon. Link is her guard again, and while the main story has them both traveling around to find out what they can do, Link is given a lot of leeway in figuring out how to get certain items or reaching certain places. Zelda provides some semblance of direction, but it's really Link who plays in the open sandbox to figure everything out (this includes messing around with side content like in BotW).
Partway into their quest, they find out that Ganon is being brought back ahead of time by something the Yiga Clan are doing.
Etc
Premise for a BotW sequel:
Ganondorf is released from underground and his malice spreads abundantly, where the world is corrupted by malice and Ganondorf reigns supreme. Can Link AND Zelda stop him?
Excellent idea man 👍
Considering we haven’t had any Odyssey DLC yet, and the timeframe for that has well and truly passed, an Odyssey sequel seems very likely.
Unless they go NSLU and release a half-DLC half-new game.
Eh. Captain Toad just got some DLC out of the blue. It's still possible.

I really don't understand why Nintendo hasnt reused an engine since majoras mask considering in how high regards it is held
Agreed, also why can't they remake for the second time with BOTW graphics but Majora's masks story
@@opalfrags Ehhh... they should just get Koizumi involved, he'd make it macabre and unsettling like MM. IMO, he'd probably make the first competent story Zelda's had since WW.
Majora's Mask wasn't that beloved on its initial release. And Nintendo likes to innovate.
They actually reused the Wind Waker engine for Twilight Princess. However they scrapped almost everything they had for Wind Waker, refined the engine, and rebuilt the game, and thats why it took 4 years.
Didn't Smash Ultimate reuse assets and the engine from Smash for Wii U.
A Breath of the Wild sequel will probably be something similar to Majora’s Mask. At least I’m hoping.
@DetectiveXigbragboddy... "Thats interesting what you said. Cause I wanted to share that I worked hard on a sequel film to Breath of the wild!. It could become one of the best. Crazy idea for a BOTW 2.

Give me BOTW 2 like Majoras Mask!
Same!
Amen brother. Frankly I would kill for BOTW 2 to have underwater accessibility along the lines of TP, MM, and not Wind Waker. If not that then maybe they could have a type of cave system in it's open world such as skyrim or maybe dark souls. In addition I want traditional dungeons, albeit it would be difficult to have linear dungeon design with such a free engine that botw has. Perhaps they could limit Link's movement options in these dungeon with the explanation of some curse placed on him or something.
Maybe a sequel that explores a Gerudo Ganondorf after the events of BOTW 2, or a new villian...
as much as i love majoras mask i have to disagree here that game was rushed and didnt have nearly as much content as ocarina if my memory is correct for exampe you got about half the dungeons in mask then ocarina has id love a a new game of about equal size or bigger
@thedoto That was in the past. Nintendo has all the time in the world to create a sequel similar to Majora’s mask this time around.

Machine gun korok?
*Machine gun korok would like to know your location*
Machine Gun Zelda ridin' around on your Motorcycle
Hold my deku nuts! That sounds awesome!
What do you mean, your actual aesthetic?
This is my wishlist for 2020 Breath of the wild and Mario Odyssey sequels...
I want BoTW 2 to either be a prequel or a sequel, like where you get to play through and actually experience the memories, like being Zelda’s appointed knight and all that. Or a sequel where link is fully recovered from his amnesia and goes to another region, and then once you beat the game, you get to go to a very similar map to the first game, but everything is peaceful, ruins rebuilt, etc just to get another place to adventure and run around in. Afterwards you could still return to the other region though. The title could be Life of the wild or something like that.
I do like it in sequels when you eventually get to go back to the world from the previous game. Dragon Quest has done it before. Tales has done it. Hell, even Super Mario Odyssey basically did it with the Mushroom Kingdom. It's fun and exciting for the fans.
Deltath Riylaan exactly, I would love to fully explore hyrule like in botw, but when it’s peaceful and everything is all good
New Arlo notification: lets talk sequels for odyssey and breath of the wild
Me: I guess its time to talk sequels for odyssey and breath of the wild
I don’t think anything can give me the same wonder as Odyssey did.
Odyssey was extremely fantastic. It will remain as my most nostalgic and favorite 3D Mario game. My opinion, it beats every other 3D Mario game.
Molten Electricity I wish I could say the Same thing, it was very disappointing to me to be honest. I was expecting more levels and a more rewarding quest on finding moons. They became trivial so quickly and you just needed a few to move on to the next level. I think M64 is still loads better
Edit: I’m also really missing a nice hubworld to connect the dots.
@@niekvanderkam I agree with you on the hub world but the true satisfaction comes with 100% the game

Honestly, the fact that Nintendo has said themselves that The Legend of Zelda is their storytelling series makes me so happy and excited for future Zelda games.
It makes a lot of sense actually from where the story telling of imagination came from that made Zedla on the NES to begin with and Mario is just a platforming/sandbox world(s) with whacky world designs. Hell to yeah is what I say
I have Spirit Tracks, but not Phantom Hourglass...
Don't judge me.
I don’t think anyone’s judging you. Spirit Tracks was WAAAY better than Phantom Hourglass, almost objectively so. You definitely didn’t miss out on anything amazing; PH was just average and the repeated dungeon was complete Trash!

I don’t know, but my favorite part about Arlo is probably his eyes. They are so relaxing
It’s weird but I want a fresh new 3D Pac-Man game like the World Series
I'm glad to see people are starting to be more vocal about how great the Pac Man World games were (2, in particular). I've actually been thinking they should release a Pac Man World trilogy HD remake. I never played the first one, and I never beat the third one, so it'd be cool to get the opportunity to play all three on the switch. But a new 3D Pac Man could be even more awesome than that if they did it right.

@@tkfarms7882 New Funky Mode
I don't even need them to change anything to be honest. Just a new game that would give me more to do would be awesome
Some more variety in enemies would fix one of the few problems I have with the game. The best part of the game was coming across some kind of monster I'd never seen before and then figuring out how to defeat it. Unfortunately about a quarter way through the game want coming across anything other than different coloured versions of monsters is already seen.
If Nintendo decides to move forward with these game design formulas then they to take precedence with what made their past game designs so great in the first place. I felt like while Breath of the Wild was a really interesting turn for the series, it really lost a lot of it's personality and game design as a Zelda game as a consequence. Super Mario Odyssey on the surface looks like a return to form from late 90's platformers, but you can clearly see the simplicity of the game's design when you dig deeper. The game has a ton of repetition that no other 3D Mario title has. A lot of moons in the game don't even feel rewarding to collect, they're just kind of there. They need to look at their past work and implement the best parts of their old designs with the best parts of their new designs
I will probably catch flak for this, but it's coming from concern. I am concerned for the future of these staple IPs in the game industry. Joseph Anderson explains this much better than i do in his Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey reviews.
Perhaps, perhaps not, but I feel that youtuber tends to be negative for the sake of being negative. I mean, perhaps he's right, but I just don't notice it because i'm having so much fun. I know another video that seems (in my opinion) way better than that one and it's way shorter. I believe the changes were for the better, because Zelda and Mario, while good at their job, they were very repetitive by now and couldn't appreciate them anymore. Again, my opinion. I'll give you the link when i find the video
BotW isn't a Zelda game, it's something else wearing Zelda clothes. It is a great game, but I would agree with you that I hope they don't move past the old Zelda and make them all like Botw. Personally, I'd want a Zelda with a deep story, plenty of side quests, with an open world and massive dungeons (like if OoT was as big as it felt at the time, and didn't lock off everything that wasn't immediately important). I'd hope they would make the 3 weapon types available, or more possibly, and bring back enemies like Stalfos and Darknuts. Tbh I'd also like some kind of romance options or something, but that's pretty unlikely.
If they stuck with BotW's formula tho, I'd hope that they make it a little less about picking up a huge quantity of stuff and just make it so that there were different things to find. For instance, instead of running and just pressing a to pick up a dozen apples, I'd like something like finding a rare plant and picking it from the root. I'd probably like a cookbook for specific dishes and also possibly some kind of armor progression. Keeping with that idea, of keeping the inventory but not that scavenging everything mentality, the breaking mechanic would be fine for weapons you find laying around and against enemies, but if you got permanent ones as well (pertaining to the story, probably) that would be nice. Like, a flamesword or bobo club would be expendable, but Mipha's spear would be unbreakable (or, saying, a training sword you get at the beginning of the game). They would probably keep the shrine mechanic, but hopefully add better dungeons, and sidequests with subplots and not just more shrines. It would still be BotW, but just a bit closer to the Zelda formula.
In defense for Mario Odyssey, I find Joseph's complaints with the whole "there's too many power moons to collect, therefore they don't feel rewarding to collect," is more of a personal complaint rather than an actual flaw of the game, because some people actually don't mind the more smaller objective based moons like kicking rocks, groundpounding an area, kicking rocks, catching rabbits, planting a seed etc. & finds them to be pretty harmless to collect. To some not every moons needs to be missioned based like the shine sprites in Sunshine or the stars in the Galaxy games. And yes the moons do often repeat the same tasks over & over again, but at the same, they do mix things up a bit in how you get those moons by doing the same tasks, like the game having you deal with different ways to stack the goombas, or having you deal with different hint arts in each kingdoms or vise versa. And honestly I find the stars in Mario 64 to be more repetitive to collect than the moons in Odyssey, especially since the stars always booted you out of the level everytime you get one. Take Tall Tall Mountain for example. Climb up the mountain to get the star, climb up the mountain to catch the monkey to get the star, climb up the mountain to get behind the waterfall to get the star, climb up the mountain to get to the secret slide etc. Not to say Odyssey is perfect, I'll admit there are some moons that I found were a waste of time like all the moons in the cloud/ruin kingdom, all the toadette achievements & the infamous coin feeding plant that's in the deep woods, but other than that, I find the majority of the moons to be pretty harmless to collect. But that's my overall two sense on Odyssey.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who felt iffy on Breath of the Wild's radical change of formula. It really does feel like it lost a lot of Zelda's old personality in favor of new age trends.
I'd like to see a Zelda game taking place just before the calamity, when the Hylians and Sheika are rediscovering the old divine beasts and figuring out the technology. Maybe link has to do stuff to discover where the beasts are hidden, then something else to uncover them, or find ancient relics that help explain how to use them, etc. This way, we can run around Hyrule before the calamity and see all the beautiful architecture, farms and villages, and get to know the champions.
Well now you're really gonna be happy

Bring me a Zelda game using the BOTW engine, but make it more story/character driven with a greater population of towns/cities/npcs
and the Motorcycle available from the beginning rather than the end of a DLC.
I’d love a prequel for BOTW that further fleshes out the story in that game. What if we got to play through the memories in BOTW up until the events leading up to Link being sent to the chamber of resurrection?
Lol so you basically die in the end
Hamza Khairi I mean yeah! I’d still love a game like it though! It could be a darker themed game explaining in further detail how Hyrule and Link fell to Ganon! It could also be a way to get to know the characters in the game, such as the champions and Zelda more!
As DLC, sure I'd love that

Nintendo: both, it be a crossovers
well would you look at that...
them bastards did it they did it
My personal feeling is that A Link Between Worlds should be the new benchmark for the series, not Breath of the Wild. Translating it to 3D with a few leaves taken out of BotW's book would make for a Zelda that pleases fans of more classic Zelda AND BotW's back-to-basics style. There's so much potential for items like the hookshot in a proper physics engine and imagine using it to aid your climbing. I'd also love to see some new items aside from the standard bow, bombs, and hookshot, or maybe some more in-depth magic along the lines of Zelda 2.
Honestly couldn't care less about Mario.
Ah, my two favorite games on the Switch, Mario’s Creed Odyssey and The Legend of Zelda Inhale of the Feral.
Thank you for gracing us once again with your presence, magical blue person
Honestly what made these games so great was the fact they tried to be their own thing instead of just trying to be sequels of prior games, in honesty
I think Zelda may take longer because if they made a new overworld, jeez louise with a cracker and cheese that would take awhile. But I hope that's exactly what they do MUAHAHAHAHAHA
EDIT: Also I think they're gonna reveal Breath of the Wild 2 or whatever this year. I'M DUMB BUT I MIGHT BE RIGHT
Hi alax!
Odyssey 2 needs to happen...I don't see how everyone wouldn't want to buy it. New worlds and captures, boom magic!

Ne....never mind....
Can wait for the next odyssey game
Super Mario odyssey, this time, 3 more animals to capture!
Odyssey 2 or galexy 3 would be sick Nintendo make games fasssssster
Ikr? my penis would grow at least half an inch if they made galaxy 3
Super Mario Odyssey 2: Bowser tries to wreck Mario's wedding to Peach. Instead of kidnapping her, he flies away in her castle, literally stealing the wedding- venue, flowers and all! Mario and Peach, Luigi and Daisy give chase in the Odyssey (introducing multiplayer!) Multiple Cappys allow all characters to take control of the environment.
Gamexplain had this idea of the Odyssey sequel being about Peach’s adventure across the world following her rescue, with her as the main character and having Mario’s capture ability through her crown. I really like this Super Peach Odyssey idea and would love to see them do it but I know they never would
This would be a great way to flesh out the Switch’s library without just porting WiiU games.
You know why we're here
I would love a sequel that expands on the world of BoTW. I felt like there wasnt enough story in that one. I mean it's an amazing game, I just wanted more story content out of it.
Zelda: BotW 4 Swords, no... Zelda: Breath of the Wild Battle Royale.
I was joking when I wrote that, but with how the weapons and armour work in BotW that could actually be pretty cool.
I had an idea for an Odyssey 2 story that I thought was pretty good. I’ll write it out here if anyone’s interested.
The game starts with Mario and Cappy in the Mushroom Kingdom, relaxing in the Odyssey. It has the golden sail and 999 moons. Suddenly, they see Bowser’s airship in the distance, heading for Peach’s Castle. Mario and Cappy spring into action, leaving the Odyssey behind as they run to Peach’s aid. Bowser comes to take the princess, but Mario and Cappy keep him at bay. The fight goes on for some time, but out of nowhere, Bowser leaves, saying he got what he really came for. Mario and Cappy look around, confused, then spot Bowser’s minions making a getaway in the Odyssey. Bowser was only pretending to kidnap Peach as a decoy, and was really after the ship.
Just like in the first game, he’s stealing something from each kingdom he visits, but this time Mario and the player have no idea why. Without a ship to travel between kingdoms, Luigi uses his balloons to help his brother go after Bowser. Each kingdom, Mario and Cappy learn what Bowser stole, coming one step closer to figuring out his plan each time. Eventually, they reach their final destination: New Donk City. Or as it’s now called, Neo Bowser City.
Mario and Cappy arrive on the scene, finally piecing together Bowser’s plan to take over New Donk City and make it his own. He has used the resources he gathered from each kingdom to overthrow Pauline and build his own shining dystopia on top of her city. Mario is in for the fight of his life. One of the treasures Bowser stole is an ancient artifact from the Ruined Kingdom that has made him extremely powerful, and the Odyssey’s overwhelming amount of Power Moons provides enough energy to power all the weaponry he could ever need. But an unlikely ally storms in to help Mario.
Donkey Kong, furious that the city named for him has been taken over, has come to put a stop to Bowser’s plan. He and Mario join forces via Capturing, and they engage in a one-on-one battle of brute force with Bowser, with Pauline singing a brand new song to cheer them on. Mario comes out on top in the end, Pauline retakes her position as mayor, and begins rebuilding her city. Much of the post-game in the Metro Kingdom centers around helping with the restoration effort.
stwbmc98 this is so cool and maybe u could capture dk
BOTW SEQUEL CONFIRRRRMED
A job listing doesn’t mean they are just starting to work on something. I just got a new job as a designer and I’m working on finishing projects that are 80% complete. Today I worked on a project that is in the final stages of development (like, days from completion), and I’ve only worked at this firm for 4 weeks. I’m working on stuff that my office has been working on for years. So, my point is, even if they are looking for a new person, that doesn’t mean they are just starting to work on the project. For all we know, someone left Nintendo and they need to fill a hole.
15:05 "Maybe Nintendo will be Nintendo about it and we won't see sequels until 2022"
The accuracy...
2020: Okay we are working on a new Legend of Zelda game called "blah blah blah"
2057: We are now in the final stage of production and should be released to you in roughly 6 months!!!!

The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild 2: Tokyo Drift
Little did arlo know what would occur 3 months later..
When you think about it; The mentality of Zelda Majora's Mask and Super Mario Galaxy 2 can also be applied to Smash Bros Ultimate. That game reuses a ton of assets from Smash Bros 4 but despite that we all adore it and will likely be playing it for a good long time. And yeah I know the same can be said for Smash Bros Brawl to Smash Bros 4 but the reason I don't bring that up is because Smash Bros 4 had to upscale a ton of the models to HD which obviously requires more work than just simply porting it over.
