Have you found that the gap between the rack and the bike is much narrower than with the original hand bars/grips? I've read people complaining about not being as easy to use it to put the bike on the center stand and for passengers to grab onto it, but from the looks of it in this video, they don't seem very different from the original handgrips.
I’d say they are a little closer, but it’s more they are narrower than the original rails. When I briefly had a centre stand I didn’t have any issue raising the bike onto it. I haven’t ridden with a pillion on this bike so can’t really comment on the grab rail side of it.
Any other reasons to use the M7 over the M5, besides it has a larger area to store stuff when the case is not on? Which Givi case did you get? I'm thinking the v40 is a good choice. Got a new '19 cbx...need to get the milk crate off and something proper on....thanks...appreciate the vid
No other differences between the plates. I had to speak with the retailer around the plates and an old top box when I purchased the gear for cb500x. They advised the M7 was just a newer model. I have the V40 box now and love it.
Hi thanks for the info. Can you tell me I just purchased the pl1121 side racks but have no information on mounting them. Do I need another bracket to mount them thanks? It's for 2015 cb500x
Have a peak at Givi's website, the instructions are a free download. If you just have the side racks yes you will need another piece. Either 1121fz to mount a top box or the 1121kit which allows you to attach the side racks without a top box. Hope this helps.
Andrew thanks a million. Yes that helps. But does the the little adapter plate you put on behind the side rack come with the 1121fz kit. I didn't get anything like that with the side racks.thanks again Andrew
@@ianferrier235 If you're thinking of the adapter plate that turns up at 3.10 in the video yes that would come with the monorack arms or adapter kit, not the side racks. You need either the 1121fz (monorack arms allow top box mounting plate attachment) or 1121kit (just side racks) If you don't intend on mounting a top box then go for 1121kit www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/content_prod/207109 Or if you do want a top box then the 1121fz www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/content_prod/207085
Ok thanks again Andrew. I guess we will have to order the 1121fz and probably the top plate m7 I do like the E251 top plate but not sure if it will work. Having a hard time getting info. Sure glad you're responding to me.Thanks again
unbelievable that a company as innovative as Honda couldn't have added a quick fit/release pannier system incorporated into the side pillion grab bars like Kawasaki did with the Versys, rather than making the user add a load of ugly & bulky scaffolding which most of the time you dont want on the bike
No, it rides fine. Just a small adjustment to the preload and there's very little difference to riding unladen. Saying that... Something like the Rally Raid level 1 with remote preload adjuster would bring enhanced comfort, performance, and ease of use.

Nice SKX man, going to tackle this tomorrow morning on my 500X!
Well made, helpful and informative vids! Which Givi supplier do you use Andrew? (I have the 2018 model on a 19 plate)
Most of my gear comes from Sportsbikeshop. A couple more obscure items I shop around for, but most of the Givi gear is from them.
Great, thanks!

@@andrewstewart106 thanks...the price is pretty much the same for the M7, I'll go for that with the v40 and rack.
Thanks, helped me put mine together without a problem 👍

I have bougt mine last week and still waiting and I'll need it.
It's a 2015 model.
Nice job!
nice vid mate thanks
Hello,
Locktite is like superglue ?
Thanks,
Christian
Why can't they have the same dimension on the skruvs? friking annoying with all the diffrent size's!
Does the bike need any shock upgrades to handle two side cases...???

Will this fit the givi 58l trekker?

Did you ever get that answer, or get it installed on a 2019? GIVI website indicates that the same kit should fit 2018 and 2019.
They make bigger Ratchets :)
Haha yea. I have some but have to adapt to different sized bit attachment.
