Been following you for the last couple of years and i must say that im surprised your subscriber count has not gone up all that much. You’re commentary and personality and knowledge on cars is very amusing, impressive and entertaining. Appreciate it
No thank you. The Corsa is just way too expensive for what you get. It’s not even worth calling this an update. You can get wayyy more spec for that price. But Great Reviews Juliet!
3:26 I see they still haven't bothered to properly convert this initial left hand drive model to right hand drive. See the gear selector indication is on the left of the gear instead of the right.
For that money you can get into a Corolla Cross Gr Much bigger, better build quality and actually has resale value. I must just say. Most car reviewers in SA are too scared to say anything negative about cars they are testing. Love your honesty. Jeremy Clarkson was always brutally honest when reviewing cars. If its bad, oh boy, he would let you know how bad it was.
The benchmark for me personally is the Honda Fit. I really do like the Corsa, 208 and Polo as well but outside of its appearance I can't fault the Fit.
The 1.2 litre with 96 kw 230 torguejCorsa blows the 85kw Polo away in power and torgue and one has to buy R100000 more Polo GTI to beat corsa on performance . Entry level corsa has 76 kw and 200 plus torgue and also beats entry level 70kw Polo performance wise . Polo has always been more refined than corsa which always gave more power than torgue . Buy Havel Jolion instead with more spec , space and power than corsa or Polo. Your money , your choice
i owned 2 corsa's in my life. one was a 2006 1.4 corsa lite. awesome little car that gave me 14km/l in town.other was a 2006 corsa C GSI. both was a awesome car specially for town driving. what i paid for the cars and what they sell for today i could have made all my money back. prices for small cars with below 1.6 engines are just crazy. i purchased a demo doublecab two weeks ago for the same price as this model currently which makes me ask the question is these still worth the price tag. most people will say no and some probably yes. personally i think all these smaller cars have a very tight market and with all the options available makes it so much more difficult to compete.
The biggest dealbreaker with Opels is the lack and quality of their dealerships. If you are in Cape Town, you have two options - Belville and Somerset West. I have an Opel and really wanted to use the dealer to service it even though I live in the Southern Suburbs, but just could not get them to answer their damn phone. When they eventually did it was like "hold on please" and then I was disconnected. After another 3 attempts I just gave up and had it serviced at a local private service center. I really do enjoy driving my Opel, but would never consider another one unless they can sort out their aftersales service. Otherwise it's a race to the bottom for the brand.
@RussellSmith-nv2je This is SO true....After-sales and customer services at Bellville really SUCK!!!!! It is NOT even to worth mentioning it, because it is NON-existent. Opel was (past tense) a great thriving and excellent brand.....before they got orphaned by GM and adopted by Stellantis.....I will rather then pay that extra premium and buy a Peugeot for that matter..... I have a colleague that has a Opel Grandland X which she bought as a demo at Reeds Bellville about 2 years ago.....She trying to get hold of them telephonically is a waste of time, to say at least - Same as you had experienced, just to book her car for a scheduled service....and the complaints can go on for ever.....bunch of useless operators working at that dealership!!!!!
I do not believe this post to be factually correct. Reeds Opel Claremont was around for many years with excellent service and servicing and there has been a recent move to William Simpson Tokai. I have yet to have a vehicle serviced at WIlliam Simpson Tokai, though. Edit: Tokai is located in the Southern Suburbs.
That interior is a no plus the lack of a sunroof at the price point just makes things worse… This could do with interior from the Peugeot 208 and some elements of the European version Astra
@@shaunfourie2465 A lot of cars have wetbelts, a lot are scaremongering too, stay away from ford ecoboost, same wetbelt but double the price in repairing, keep to your service intervals, use correct oil and you be fine, these ppl who have issues are ones who either use wrong oil, skimp on service intervals or just rag it
0:12 do none of the cars you review have heaters? I can understand if you complain about being cold when speaking about the car while standing outside...
The Opel brand is a sinking ship. Quality issues make the situation worse. Combined it means a lower resale value. Been spiralling for a while now. Top management have taken the brand from the days of The Super Boss to this rubbish. Sad.

Great car, love mine, after 20 years of ford, changed to a 1.2 Turbo Corsa and so far it's great, gets lots of compliments
Informative, objective and independent review; i like how you do these reviews, casual, informal and say it like it is. Thanks JM
Thank YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! xxxx
Agree with you. The dated interior is a dealbreaker for me concidering the asking price. Doesnt make sence.
I just got one, and mine has the heated seat buttons where you are expecting them to be. I also have different seats, which has massage function too.

My sisters Corsa elegance automatic (2023 model) has heated seats. It’s weird that it’s not on the updated models here in South Africa

Your the voice of reason and personally I like the style you have don't change it for nonsensical reasons
no matter what everyone is telling here and I don't have one, but it easily outsells the Polo in Europe for years now
Does it share the same motor as the Peugeot ....!

Apparently Stellantis is launching an after market care brand called Eurorepar to address this for their brands (Peugeot, Citreon and opel)

The Opel still hasn't woken up from its long slumber when it was a market top contender before the VW dominance. Sadly so
I’ve read a lot of hate comments across your YT reviews, very saddening. Personally I find a lot of value in your content
Please include NCAP safety ratings in your review
Considering the Peugeot 208 is the exact same platform and has a much better and more modern interior, they missed something here.
Agreed!
Peugeot is like being inside a spaceship, not for me

The phrase "not the best, but good enough" comes to mind
Should do the Corsa B, try something minimal for a bit
This is just a Peugeot 208. The German Opel is no longer.
must have been kak cleaning all that peanut butter off the car for those shots lol....

Lmao, just bought the pre face lift corsa and I think it’s perfect.
Opel Corsa lost its mojo when they started making 4 door hatchbacks.
Raj and Raj 2. I hated them too.
