  • Hello and welcome to my channel.
In this video I am showing a simple method to make a cooling pad for your modem which can come in handy in summer when the ambient temperature is high or if you live in hotter regions. The things you need are very easy to find and the method is simple as well. You can make similar cooling pad for laptop or even for a smartphone.

Hello! can you make a video about this?
I wanted to make a cooling pad for my router, but here's how I want to do it.
Take the power from one of the LAN ports by using a LAN to USB converter and then the USB plugs into a circuit which outputs enough power to run two 90mm fans. Is this possible?? If yes then PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE MAKE IT. PLEASE!!

I don't know if that will work.
But your best bet is to use a RJ45 to USB convertor as you said and try to attach the fan to USB (you can search for USB pinout to get the pin information)
But if it works, you will need a single low power smaller sized fan

@@DIYwithAK ohh how about a single 90mm fan? I will try to make this, but I don't have any good soldering skills..haha..ha. Can you do a video on this? It's entirely up to you! It's okay if you don't!

I hope ur router supplies POE if u want to get power from one of the LAN ports.
If u router doesn't support POE, it will not work.
If u router has a USB port, just plug it in to it's USB port to get power from ur router.

This is an intake fan...ryt? If we place it in the opposite direction, this works as an exhaust...ryt?
Intake fan takes in more dust

That's right. It is an intake fan.
You can place it in the opposite direction. But I found that it is not effective that way.
And you are right about the dust problem.

How about the vibration from the fan is it safe?

Yes it's safe. These type of fans are used in computers. They are brushless and have almost no vibrations or noise.
