Hello, I am Korean. Dieselk is a very famous engineer in Korea. He is the best engineer for diesel cars that is hard to book maintenance in Korea, honest and constantly studying, researching, and fixing everything!
@@Vinh1089 apparently its common for the dpf filter to crack due to heat stress. so most shops will just quote a replacement instead of a cleaning service, because you wouldnt know which one is needed until you pull it out completely.
Hope you fitted new injector bridge bolts as they are stretch bolts with initial torque, then torque angle. Looking at the way your torque wrench reacted when tensioning injector bridge 3&4, I would suggest not. I have seen them fail in service and eject the injectors when new (one shot pony) bolts are not fitted. Also didn’t see the O rings further up the injectors get replaced. If you don’t show these things, DIYers will follow you and make mistakes. Great video other than that though 👍
As a DIY who knows little about working on cars, but wants to do everything in this video, I would NOT use this video as my only source. It goes too fast and obviously doesn't cover a lot I'll need to know. I'm an aircraft mechanic so I'm confident I'll be able to do the work, but I'll be using a much slower, step-by-steo video or written instructions. My only variable is I'm considering removing the DPF completely, but probably not the EGR. I'd be surprised if he didn't replace those O-rings BTW. On aircraft all O-rings are always replaced with new.
Yeah the intake port were pretty clean but did not show the procedure, I can follow the advice but I don’t have VCDS software😔 so I’m afraid to do anything! That’s why I don’t own Mk6 Vw’s but my girlfriend does own a Mk6 Golf TDI.
@@MaurizioCarrar I do not understand the language which you wrote in. However, I will update. I had the DPF and EGR deleted in the car's computer (ECM?). My mileage went from 31-33 previously to 44-45 now! I have not yet physically removed these components yet, but I will soon. I'll be doing that work myself, or with help.
Andy Preston the added complexity is pretty much just sensors and emissions gear that any car has these days. You could set the engine up to run without most of the electronics but they do help. The EGR is what really causes the buildup in the intake and could be deleted. Without a DPF, EGR and cooler, it will run better and free up a lot of room around the engine.
late response to your question, but I know the DPF cleaning alone can be well over $1,000 USD. It's often better to just delete it, since the EPA has regulated them to not really be worth keeping on your car.
@@papasmurph4661 wow, that’s an expensive operation. That alone would preclude me from ever owning a diesel car. An enormous amount of carbon build up.. Whoever did this did an amazing job.🙀👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I've just replaced the EGR valve on a Golf 6 2.0 TDI with an new original one together with all the gaskets and accessories required. I've also cleaned the throttle body and the plastic intake gallery on the inside. After this operation, the car developed a problem it never had before, when the car does the normal DPF regeneration, the idle is fluctuating badly up and down, it goes under 800rpm and over 1100rpm when i'm wainting at a traffic light. Before the replacement, the regeneration would bring the RPM at around 1000 when the car stood still and it would stay like that, no fluctuations. I should also mention that the sound of the engine also changed a bit, it's a bit more rought, before it was sounding buttering smooth. Any ideas what could it be ?
@@markrobinson8575 with a skilled friend, it took about 4-5 hours. Definitely a 2 man job when it comes time to pulling the DPF out. We worked quite hard to twist the damn thing out.
Modern turbo diesel. Switch OFF EGR valve. Add 30 micron pre and 2 micron post fuel filter. Source a sports dpf filter (euro 4) high flow. Fresh oil. Every 5k klm.
If not mistaken, I learned from another video that the 1st unit clamped close to the turbo on my 2011 & 2013 Golf Tdi is the DPF that has a small cat converter at the head of it. One of the reasons they are so expensive to replace OEM, plus reason why many gut it, (split, remove contents, weld back up) or replace with simple down pipe with (1) sensor bung.
It's more maintenance. He cleaned the intake manifold, throttle body, EGR, injectors, injector seats, and DPF. He removed a lot of carbon sludge that is built up from combining the exhaust gas from the EGR with oil/fuel blown passed during engine running. Some people call it carbon cleaning, others call it intake cleaning, injector cleaning and DPF flush, the name will vary from country to country and from garage to garage. You can even go one step further by walnut blasting the inlet ports and inlet valves.
Exactly what i was thinking. I work for vw and it seems you can never get around the subframe and the torque to yield bolts on most major engine services. So you end up replacing them every time

Drop driveshaft, remove torque mount, jam the engine forward and rotate the dpf out as you drop it
