Do you think you could use this on a sleeping pad on the ground? Could it be used as a pure sleeping bag if you really couldn’t find anywhere to hang it?
I would say yes. It would work well as a sleeping bag alone. It will be much more roomy than a normal mummy sleeping bag. But should work fine with a pad on the ground as well. The only thing is, it is heavier and bulkier than most of my “just sleeping bags” for backpacking. So if I know I’m going somewhere will little to no trees, I’ll probably change the whole sleep system up.
What is the length of the “sleeping bag” portion? I see the entire hammock length is available, but not the specific sleeping bag length. If you could let me know, that would be great!
I can measure it for you this week. And post the measurements for you. It’s mostly the entire usable hammock length. (Except for the very ends where the hammock curves up towards the tree) It zipped up well over my head when I zipped it as far as it would go.
Yes, down booties are amazing! Filling a water bottle with hot water and throwing it in the bottom of the sleeping bag is also a regular hack for Steph too.
Adjust your lay. Make sure you feet are slightly lower than your upper torso. Found this out the hard way. Easier to pump blood to your extremities if you let gravity help you
Hammock sleeping bag and under quilt built-in 👍 u covered everything I wanted to know especially the wind and underneath thx
Glad it helped. Thanks for watching!
The weight is not bad considering you can get a lightweight tarp and come in under 6.5lbs between tent, sleeping bag and pad
Thanks for your take.

Mosquito net available? Spring/summer Sierra can get buggy.
Thank you
Grand Tunk has a lot of hammock accessories that you could add depending on your needs. Including a mosquito net.

Ever wear down booties? I have some friends who use them even in the summer.

Would you say the synthetic is as warm as the down?
I did not test the synthetic, only the down. Although that would be an interesting comparison for sure. The down and synthetic are both rated for 20F
@@thegoodridesnow I bought the synthetic only because I worry about it being compressed for long periods of time.
