    Great review! First-time hammocker here and this was exactly the kind of recap/instruction I was looking for. Cheers.

    I know this is going back a bit in the vault, but thank you for the review. After conducting my own research this hammock was on my very short list, and I'm pleased to see you give it a solid review and thumbs up. In fact, all of your reviews are reasoned and careful, so simply a Thanks overall for all the quality information.

    Thanks for chiming in! It's great to hear they have other systems out there that will appeal to the ultralight market.

    Just saw another review on this where the guy started off by using it as a tent half shelter and then put it into hammock configuration. Pretty cool stuff. I'm thinking out getting one. What I think would be neat is if the bag were a bit heftier with MOLLE loops to be able to attach it to the outside of your pack. It would add some weight but for me, I think it would be worth it as an option. Great video. Thx for sharing

    Ditch the included biners and suspension and get some whoopie slings and you will drop several ounces. It will also make it much more versatile to hang in more places and scenarios.

    I am new to hammock camping..havent done it yet..always been a ground camper but getting older its ruff on the body anymore...so ive decided to try the hammock. Good review and thanks for the tips at the end, especially the fold over bugnet. Going to try that before buying a mozzy but I bet in the long run I'll coough up the money for a rainfly and a mozzy. :)

    It is a great hammock! It's not for the bonafide "ultralighter", but I would have no problems taking this out for a week in my pack.

    outisde of cocooning, i like the double because i can put my gear in it with me if the ground is muddy.

    The suspension ropes are folded over in a doubled up fashion. Can you open the rope up to one single rope for a longer reach or does the strength of the suspension ropes drop too much?

    Hi I am about to make my first time hammock purchase. Would you recommend this or the ENO doublenest? Also, do these included straps sag or how do they compare to the ENO atlas straps?

    • @davidspassage
      @davidspassage  10 років тому

      Either hammock is great. They are almost identical other than the Grand Trunk is a tad wider. The Grand Trunk came with ropes to hang it with, the ENO does not, although, a pair of nylon web straps work best in my opinion.

    I am having trouble untying my paracord where I have tied it before to adjust to the length between two trees. Any tips on how to get these really tight knots out? Thanks

    I wish you would show us how to get out of those darn thing's. Easy to sit your but and roll in. Not so easy getting out I find especially in a double.

    arn't afraid of attracting BIG FOOTS (or is that big feet) with all that wood knocking going on there....

    I seriously doubt that the bug net trick actually works. Maybe if there's a strong wind and you like breathing hot air in a cocoon.

    … what hammock can you not set up the same day?? That made no sense and should not be a selling point cuz anyone all hammocks are able to set up the same day lol
