Almost 5 years later and this still gives me chills...there'll never be another team like that Indians squad. Such a shame our window is always so short because we never pay anyone.
@@greenland5754 that 2017 team was so good. Elite starting rotation and bullpen. Stacked lineup led by José. Brantley wasn’t right tho, was out for almost the whole year. We probably would’ve given Houston a run for their money, as the Dodgers and Yankees both did. Probably would’ve lost tho.
u gotta admit out of any team cubs deserved to win like if yall were playing the dodgers then u had to win but the cubs winning was just inevitable because of the history
If the Indians had Brantley and Bauer healthy this is a totally different series. I still to this day say that the only mistake Francona made as a manager was keeping Bryan Shaw in after the rain delay when Bauer was ready in the pen.
Especially after game 1 of the World series I would have never believed the Tribe was going to lose! Especially the way Andrew Miller was pitching! And obviously when they got up 3/1 in the series I thought it was over it should have been over!!!
If you notice, its all about the pitching. As the video goes along, the opposition begins to score more. If only they could have put the cubs away in Game 5. Only in cleveland. This is the life we have been dealt
Ah, such great memories!!! It was my brother that jinxed the Tribe though...he called me after they were up 3-1 to congratulate me. I told him that it wasn't over yet to which he incredulously told me "C'mon, you're not going to lose 3 straight!" I've never forgiven him for that...
Can’t blame the rain for sure but injuries to there number 2,3,4 pitchers can be to blame, cory kluber was there only starter or that would of been a different series
The Indians typically let the starting pitcher choose which jersey the team wears. Trevor Bauer was the only starter in that playoff rotation who preferred the home whites, and he started the very first game. He only switched to blue for his last 3 starts after he cut his finger on the drone so that in case the stitches opened up while he was pitching he would have an easier time camouflaging the bleeding with the darker jersey.
We had like 2 starters available that whole post season. Maybe meritt could’ve pitched in the WS. But was a kluber show basically. On top of that, Tito throwing miller into the ground. It was like 2017 peaked at the wrong time and was just so close. I still feel the pain man 😢
How the hell did we lose to the Cubs?? I know both teams had a long drought (a *VERY VERY VERY LOOOOONG* drought) of not having a championship, but still... Cleveland could've taken it that year. There's a lot of hope for Cleveland (Guardians) this year. They're doing just as amazing as the 2016 team did.
Not sure I will ever get over this playoff run. I know people will say if only we were healthier - I say maybe. But who's to say the wins we had weren't due in part to the guys that were playing? Perez had some clutch moments in Yan's shoes. Kluber pitched amazing - would Salazar or Cookie have been that good? I blame Francona for having kept Miller in game 4, throwing 40 pitches. He was beginning to fade, Tito got greedy. I blame Kipnis for missing that meatball Chapman threw him in the 9th of game 7. And I will always blame the team for taking their foot off the gas. You don't blow 3-1 lead with two home gamea to close it out at home. That's not ever ok. Much respect to anyone who disagrees, but I don't think I'm off base here. ...See what I did there?
Oh well too bad they they are about to miss their window now. They dont even seem to be possible champions compared to others in baseball. After this season they will begin they year poorly and blow it up by the deadline. They shall sink while the White Sox and Twins will swim. I feel like that management just thoought after that season the world seires was a given and never made any moves probably because they lay in the worst divition having to not compete for that spot and that leading to them think they do not have to make any additions or changes. What a waste
Oh ye of little faith. They still have the best pitching staff in the MLB. And they've climbed into first with half the team on the DL. The window is closing, but they still have a legitimate shot this year.
5 років тому+1
The Tribe will still compete this year. Lindor is out and we are still 9-7. Clevinger out too.
If we win that game there is a statue of rajai Davis outside of progressive field
Literally lmao

Me too. This was such an electrifying season. Gives me chills thinking about it. When we went up 3-1, I thought we finally got us one.
Imagine if we had Brantley, Carrasco, and a healthy Salazar for that series...
Emmet Humenik lol I know. But “healthy Salazar” is an oxymoron
Bauer too. His hand was messed up from that drone.
we had it against new york in 2017, even if we did win we'd have to play against the cheating astros...

So good to see those Kluber highlights. He was so good. I miss him the most.
Man 2016 was such a great year to be not only just a Cleveland Fan but a citizen from Ohio
Andrew Miller ate innings like it was 1885 in that postseason. Probably why his arm has never been the same since.
I still cant believe we didnt win world series. We had the perfect team.
If the Indians had Brantley and Bauer healthy this is a totally different series. I still to this day say that the only mistake Francona made as a manager was keeping Bryan Shaw in after the rain delay when Bauer was ready in the pen.

What an incredible run that was! Truly a season to remember. Too bad the next two seasons they would choke in the Division Series.
all us Indian fans knew being up 3-1 meant nothing. I will always be proud of this team though. It truly is Cleveland against the world.
i love lebron getting everyone pumped up!!!

god as an indians fan i miss this run i remember the people that lived next to me called the cops for a noise issue when the indians won the ALCS
Injured starting pitching going into the playoffs. Amazing what this team did

Kluber and Miller in ALCS game 1 we’re so dominant!!
Roberto Perez was so so underrated at that time and really showed out in the postseason. Miss him
If Lindor had hit a walkoff homerun in the bottom of the 9th that would’ve been legendary
8 years later and this still hurts but man 2016 was special
One of the best playoff runs ever
We would of won if it wasn't that rain delay
Cant blame the rain for losing you guys failed too stop cubs from scoring
Chigaco cubs 8
Cleveland indians 7

Caleb Fowler I agree cause the momentum was on r side
Having Michael Martinez up to bat as our last hope wasn't very reassuring!!

The 2016 and the 2017 Indians were the best teams in Cleveland. I loved every player. It kills me we will never have a ring with that roster.
2024 Cleveland gaurdians World Series champions
I wonder why the Indians wore the nice home whites for the first game and then the navy blue shirts for the whole remainder of the postseason-?
The Indians typically let the starting pitcher choose which jersey the team wears. Trevor Bauer was the only starter in that playoff rotation who preferred the home whites, and he started the very first game. He only switched to blue for his last 3 starts after he cut his finger on the drone so that in case the stitches opened up while he was pitching he would have an easier time camouflaging the bleeding with the darker jersey.

Great memories but ugh, it’s painful that the video cuts off with a tie game in game 7. I still haven’t watched the final out
Thank you Andrew Miller
Chief Wahoo on the cap. What a year!
Imagine Cleveland remembered how to play baseball during postseasons.

Keaton Mc Keel after that Jose homer in game 5 that put us up 1-0 I thought we won the series
