I was at game 23 when the streak was ended, and the whole crowd started chanting "Let's Go Tribe" right after the final out. One of the coolest sports moments I've witnessed live.

I took my son, daughter, and father to the #21 win, the day game. At the time I didn’t realize it but it would be the last game I would go to with my father. Soon after that game my father would diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. At least we ended our “streak” on that great game! WON 22 STRAIGHT GAMES!!! NO ONE WILL EVER SEE THAT AGAIN IN THERE LIFETIME. HISTORY WAS MADE IN CLEVELAND IN 2017, AND THAT WILL ALWAYS BE REMEMBERED!
Las Vegas odds-makers think otherwise: Tribe is 3 to 1 favorites to win "The whole. f*ckin'. thing." Stick with something you know, like the evangelical crap you watch.
Watching my Indians from Yellowstone National Park. While I'm having one heck of a summer living and working in a park, the boys of summer are crushing the competition! This makes my heart Happy!

I absolutely loved this team but before this streak they were 69-56. On the same day the Astros were 77-49 and the Yankees were 68-57. The Indians quite frankly were not as good as either of those teams. The unbelievable magic of the streak was great but man the were streaky in 2017 and their best streak came about 5 weeks too early.
Greatest tribe team ever assembled (because of pitching) On paper, this ball club should steamroll its way through October and win the WORLD SERIES! We will never in our lifetime see a winning streak like this again! You have better odds winning the state lottery. 2017 TRIBE, A TEAM OF DESTINY. Got to enjoy this season for what it is....... fan4life34 95 team was better but that’s a top three team in mlb history. This team was the second. Hopefully they can win a WS and solidify a spot at #1
fan4life34 I think we’ll see it again because that’s what everyone said after the athletics team did it and not to take anything away from them but the athletics was so much more magical there team on paper was “trash” no one thought they’d even win 80 games but this is still great and to quote Billy beane how can u not get romantic about baseball
@@joshdemay9130 Those '95 and '97 Indians teams are among the greatest teams in baseball history to never win the Chip. The 2016 Indians may have been even better.
I had no idea at the time, but I was at game #2 of "The Streak". I was actually debating selling my ticket because they were dealing with so many injuries at that point, plus I have my own health issues I'm battling. I live 150 miles away, so I wasn't real sure about making the 2 and 1/2 hour drive up there, sitting for 3 to 4 hours, then making the return trip home. I'm sure glad my mom talked me into going, because I can tell everyone that I witnessed something historical. I am hoping to hear Hammy (radio announcer Tom Hamilton for those who aren't familiar with nicknames) about a month from now yelling... "BALLGAME! THE TRIBE HAS WON THE WORLD SERIES!!!" (sorry for typing in all caps... gotta capture Hammy realistically)
What's interesting is that they rarely trailed throughout their run. They seemed to have control of the games and they only had to make a comeback all but once (game 22). In most winning streaks there are more than a couple comebacks, but the indians were on fire and didn't rely on luck to line up that many consecutive wins. By games 22 and 23 though, it's apparent that they simply ran out of gas and needed to refuel. Amazing run by an amazing team. So close to a World Series title too.
My favorite AL team the indians had such an identical season as the Oakland A's did in 2002 (when Oakland won 20) and also the Indians lost in round 1 3 - 2 to NY Yankees... Fabulous season
Cripes! Y'all will never see anything like this again. And if i remember correctly, Ramirez had 5 or 6 multihomer games this past season. 2 seasons ago, i told people that Ramirez had a stellar glove, but his bat was a liability. Im happy to have been wrong!
I went to the game before game 1 when we lost. I was so upset. When we won the next day, my family and I laughed and said maybe we should have bought tickets for that game. We had no clue what would happen after that one win against the Red Sox. After that streak, (and especially after ALCS GM 2) I thought we were going to win it all. Oh so close. That team was the best team to never win a WS. ☹️
20:29 was so awesome!! He took a chance and ran his butt off to get to second. My gosh, Jose is one of the most fun ballplayers I've had the pleasure of watching in a LONG time. I love that guy!!! If you get a chance find the longer version where the crowd starts chanting "Jose jose jose" after that play, I got goosebumps it was SOOOO awesome. I just can't get my hopes up again but I love this team so much. I wish them the best this post season
he's really the black rider for the MVP. in a league jammed with talk of altuve and judge, ramirez deserves to be in the talk. electrifying.... jose ramirez is fast becoming a tribe legend.
In late August another couple asked me look for tickets for a September game. They preferred a Friday night, but my schedule made Thursday my only option. That was long before the streak was getting interesting. Little did I know it would be historic game 22. I felt like a hex since we were trailing with two outs in the 9th. When Lindor made that hit to tie it-the stadium went bonkers. Winning it in the 10th has to be my greatest in-person sports experience. I started videoing when Jay Bruce came up to win it (must have felt it in my bones).
I used to watch the entire games of the streak, and the 2016 WS on MLB/TV. But the geniuses there just informed me that all their archives have been removed.
I’m sorry to say I’m a big Cleveland fan from Cleveland but I never will see the Indians win A World Series or get to the World Series again. Because we are a low market team we won’t have Terry Francona.
Tito never should have fucked with that lineup going into the playoffs. What did he think was going to happen? This squad was meshing so well. I know it’s a tough call seeing as how many of them were subbing for injured stars...but that group was just ridiculously good. Lindor, JRam, Edwin, Yandi, Urshella... ugh...
I watch this video and i am shocked at how most of the players from that team are gone. I wish the tribe could keep some of their players around longer and sign to long term deals.
One of my favorite Indians clubs of all time. On a side note the 2017 Cleveland Indians had the objectively and statistically best pitching staff of all time in all of baseball. There was never a better pitching staff by Wins above replacement. Cleveland hurls.
6:55 If that ball is 4 feet higher the streak ends at 7. The fact that they would win another 14 games after is just incredible. I’m a ranger fan but the Indians are easily my second favorite team. Hope y’all break that drought soon.
I predicted back in 2017 in the midst of this all out physical, mental and emotional drive for the record winning streak that my Indians would be somewhat exhausted , flat , some players nursing minor injuries and muscle strains etc and sub par and lose in the first playoffs and sadly I was vindicated . It was so stupid , so ignorant , because cleveland had a great chance to be in the world series . I blame management , owner , major shareholders and commercial sponsors .
I was at game 23 when the streak was ended, and the whole crowd started chanting "Let's Go Tribe" right after the final out. One of the coolest sports moments I've witnessed live.

Plays all-out ALL the time!!❤😊
We will never be this good again
We seem to have a pretty good team atm full
Of young players
In late August another couple asked me look for tickets for a September game. They preferred a Friday night, but my schedule made Thursday my only option. That was long before the streak was getting interesting. Little did I know it would be historic game 22.
I felt like a hex since we were trailing with two outs in the 9th. When Lindor made that hit to tie it-the stadium went bonkers. Winning it in the 10th has to be my greatest in-person sports experience. I started videoing when Jay Bruce came up to win it (must have felt it in my bones).
Was at game 22. Remember ppl leaving. Blew my mind
indians will never have the 2016 and 2017 juice again
Not with this payroll...😡
@@danielgregory3295 fr with the dolans we cant
I used to watch the entire games of the streak, and the 2016 WS on MLB/TV. But the geniuses there just informed me that all their archives have been removed.
It still just boggles my mind how this team could be so unbelievably hot at the end of this season and blow it so quickly in the Postseason.
I’m sorry to say I’m a big Cleveland fan from Cleveland but I never will see the Indians win A World Series or get to the World Series again. Because we are a low market team we won’t have Terry Francona.
Correct--the Indians no longer exist!😢
@@danielgregory3295 But why?
Good point but Rey don't give up .I hope ill sera world series champion ship before my time is up
Sadly they’re not the Indians any more so no, you won’t see the Indians in the World Series.
This is such a great video
I want baseball to be just as fun as this.
I was there for that game 3 Zimmer catch. That was special.
It makes me cry to see the royals come back to end the streak
Shannon ! Very ironic
Had the Tribes won that Kansas City game, they would have gone to 27 games. And 27 games would be the new MLB win streak win record.
what an amazing team and roster. year ended early
Tito never should have fucked with that lineup going into the playoffs. What did he think was going to happen? This squad was meshing so well. I know it’s a tough call seeing as how many of them were subbing for injured stars...but that group was just ridiculously good. Lindor, JRam, Edwin, Yandi, Urshella... ugh...
I miss this team
15 years after Moneyball, and we get this, absolutely phenomenal (Yeah they overtook the Astros, but I like great baseball over it)
Great video! Go Tribe!
Man, what a team we had. Too bad Dolan threw it all away so he could stuff his pockets
I hope that the Clevland Indians do this good in 2018 as they did in 2017 and show them who's BOSS and that they are the BEST TEAM OUT THIER.
What a run! Dominance thought that streak.
I knew this would cost us in the playoffs. We were due to come down after this.
This was a fun run, really upset it ended with the Astros cheating to beat us.
I watch this video and i am shocked at how most of the players from that team are gone. I wish the tribe could keep some of their players around longer and sign to long term deals.
What a contrast to the hitless wonders of 2023.
Beautiful
One of my favorite Indians clubs of all time. On a side note the 2017 Cleveland Indians had the objectively and statistically best pitching staff of all time in all of baseball. There was never a better pitching staff by Wins above replacement. Cleveland hurls.
Why is that?
That team was special
6:55
If that ball is 4 feet higher the streak ends at 7.
Thank You.
