Just a request, you should do a segment regarding the shifter in automatic c6 & c5. Mine would not come out of park intermittently due to a micro switch. I took to my speed shop & they cut off the entire safety lock. Only difference is, you can put it drive without having your foot on the brake. No big deal. I have a 2009 Z06 and a few days ago I washed it and when I was finished I started it up to drive it and service antilock brakes, service active handling system, and service traction system message came on, the traction control button doesn't work now at all, what could be wrong?
GM had a recall for '05 & '06 Vettes with this issue. Did this on my '06. Easy solution & free. The electrical connector for the steering position sensor had a issue with one wire regularly coming loose after normal repeated repositioning of the steering wheel. You can google this, and basically you have to remove the lower dash cover above the driver's foot area, get on your back under the dash, find the connector strapped to the steering column, then reseat the harness and individual wires (only 2 or 3 as i can recall), then restrap harness and wires in a slightly different position that doesn't allow too much tension on the wire connections.
It may also be your wiper control module that is integrated into the wiper motor itself. Both parts are readily available, but I recommend having a professional diagnose the issue so that you are only replacing the part that is problematic. Lyle

This video really highlights why the Vette has the stereotyping it does of being driven by midlife crisis idiots that aren't car guys. Going to be hard to own this car after owning Vipers.
I've owned both as well. In my experience my RT/10 hands down was much more exciting/difficult/driver reliant to control than the C5...both in stock form. The C5 is much more controllable and easier to keep straight, but it takes power adders to make the C5 fun enough. For me anyway. I forged and put an ECS Novi 1500 on one of my C5s and now (634 wheel horse power/ 568 wheel torque) it's hands down waaay more enjoyable/exciting to toy around with than any car I've ever owned.

@@csvette No, I am looking to buy one, I did a test drive and I am not sure how to test these things out. The battery being dead and car being booster started kinda scared me that maybe doing that was keeping codes cleared. After they put a new battery in the car so i wouldn't get stranded if I stalled it I got a wait 10 seconds remove key. Thanks for any help on this
@@jimshorts7983 You will need an LMC5 Steering column lock bypass unit--that will solve the pull key / 10 sec issue forever. They cost about $70 and take about 30 mintues to install. Lyle
@@csvette The car has one on it, I am assuming it prob needs the brown wire added to the install im not sure how old the LMC5 kit on this one is, but I wasn't sure if the wait 10 seconds was maybe a key problem. I dont own the car I want to buy it but trying to cross my T's. I also know he has not had any luck programming key fobs. I got one to program but then it did nothing but without owning I cant take stuff apart.
@@jimshorts7983 The brown wire alternate install should solve that problem. As far as the fob programming, lots of people are buying "correct" fobs online for cheap prices but the FCC codes are different than the ones needed for Corvette. That may be the only issue. If they are actual GM fobs, then there may be other problems. Lyle
On a 2008 C6 3LT, if the button is depressed for any length of time or pressed in any sequence; does the car go into any other modes?
Yes, a 2008 C6 will transform into the Trumpinator Destroyer 2000 if you hold it down for 2020 seconds.
@@highplainshollarhomestead3188 🤣😂😂 Good one 👍
Love it👍👍
When in compete more the dic will state this, can you click reset and stay in competition mode?
Competition Mode has to be manually activated each time you get in the car...no automatic setting, unfortunately. Thanks for watching! :)
I have a 2009 Z06 and a few days ago I washed it and when I was finished I started it up to drive it and service antilock brakes, service active handling system, and service traction system message came on, the traction control button doesn't work now at all, what could be wrong?
DId you wash the engine down?
GM had a recall for '05 & '06 Vettes with this issue. Did this on my '06. Easy solution & free. The electrical connector for the steering position sensor had a issue with one wire regularly coming loose after normal repeated repositioning of the steering wheel. You can google this, and basically you have to remove the lower dash cover above the driver's foot area, get on your back under the dash, find the connector strapped to the steering column, then reseat the harness and individual wires (only 2 or 3 as i can recall), then restrap harness and wires in a slightly different position that doesn't allow too much tension on the wire connections.
Excellent A1.TOPNOTCH
Im having issues with my multifunction wiper switch. Mainly the delay settings. Any suggestions on repairs
It may also be your wiper control module that is integrated into the wiper motor itself. Both parts are readily available, but I recommend having a professional diagnose the issue so that you are only replacing the part that is problematic. Lyle
@@csvette thanks for the advice. Only had the car since January. Love it , even with the $1400 bill for balancer and trans service. Only had 30k when I bought it
Perfect thanks
Traction control what’s that 🤣😂🤣😂😎
Awesome....
Lol. This is great. Some people. Go figure👍👍😎🇺🇸
I followed this tip and my car flipped over in a ditch it couldn't be avoided there was nothing I could do, everything was fine before I followed this advice
Bahahahahaha! That is the best comment I have seen in a month of Mondays! :) Lyle
Steer into a slide!!!!!
I'm glad I didn't know about this feature until 2 years ago, have a 04 convertible and have driven it hard since 04. Lyle is totally right, way more fun, the car can get away from you without all the safety features.
?
spinning isn't winning. Why would you want to spin?
@Alex Marsh keeps you from spinning too. Spinning slows the car down also right?
If you track your car, and know how to drive, you can get faster lap times in "competitive driving mode". The nannies kick in and slow you down.
@@jetguyflying3144 so is compititive mode faster then holding the magic button for 6-7 secounds and turning everything off?
These cars will bite you on the ass quick, when you turn that button off.
Too much gas too soon coming out of a corner, and the back end might pass the front end.
Yep...this is why I cautioned people to do it somewhere away from traffic and to be smart about it. At least it won't break loose and destroy everything around it like a Mustang!! :) Lyle
fly by wire pedals suck.
This video really highlights why the Vette has the stereotyping it does of being driven by midlife crisis idiots that aren't car guys. Going to be hard to own this car after owning Vipers.
😂👍🏻
I've owned both as well. In my experience my RT/10 hands down was much more exciting/difficult/driver reliant to control than the C5...both in stock form.
The C5 is much more controllable and easier to keep straight, but it takes power adders to make the C5 fun enough. For me anyway.
I forged and put an ECS Novi 1500 on one of my C5s and now (634 wheel horse power/ 568 wheel torque) it's hands down waaay more enjoyable/exciting to toy around with than any car I've ever owned.
