It is only available to connect Apple i Phone wirelessly. The WIRE still needed for Android Phone. Whenever watching this kind of video, please watch their smartphones very carefully, if you have Android Phones.

6:20 Dude.. Of course you use your iPhone to record video & simultaneously use CarPlay - “CarPlay” is in essence an iOS app that needs an external monitor to work. For example, If you open maps in CarPlay mode then your iPhone is doing the heavy lifting but instead of using its display it uses the head unit..
In case if your car doesn't support Wireless Android Auto you can try carsifi.com adapter which makes Wireless Android Auto on all cars and head units which support wired Android Auto

@magdaleno Ovando I’m glad to help! I had to drill a hole and route the head unit’s USB cables to it. I’ll be releasing a video soon with an update on my stereo and I’ll explain how the glovebox USB is set up.
@Dawit I don’t already have any USB ports in my mid-console (I assume you mean the armrest storage box between the driver & passenger seats), so I cannot say for sure. However, if your mid-console USB ports are directly connected to the back of the touchscreen, I’d imagine they should work fine for Carlink.
The link you provided clearly states the adapter does not work with wireless android auto, so why are you saying it does? Or are you saying you can get wireless car play (and wired android auto)? If so, why would anyone with an Android phone want to use this adapter when the head unit is already Android Auto compatible?
lexus has a recall on the dash and door pannels . call the local dealer and give them the vin. my 09 is in getting the door pannels and dash cover replaced now for free!!!! only good till june 2021

FYI: Every version of AutoKit since 03.2020 are infected with lots of trojan viruses. Even the one directly downloadable from the carlinkit.com/softdown Please check before installing, you can upload the APK to virustotal.com and it will scan it instantly. I discovered this because I downloaded the APK and backed it up on my Google Drive and then Google told me it had a virus, and so I looked into it further. Seems like a big security issue since your phone connects to this, the question is will this have to potential to steal data from your phone? If you look at the details tab on virustotal.com, it mentions an IP URL that the app uploads log files to. The most recent non infected version is 2020.02.24.0930. So if you want to install it, then please install this version.

Providing you have said button that is. Mine just actuvates the phone section of the actual android unit which sucks as it’s obviously not connected to anything and is rubbish

Is the sound quality thesame as the stock because i have a scosche unit and an aftermarket stereo and my rear speakers wouldn’t work and it sucks because with the stock radio they worked.
The “wince” download is for head units running Windows CE & that’s the majority of most 1st party infotainment (many not so much in the last 5a+ years) .. However I’m pretty sure for obvious reasons you can’t just install whatever you want
Same, mine tells me to connect phone, but once I start trying to do that it says to connect product. I have already tried 2 of these carlinkit units. Not sure if there is a certain version of the app that is needed to make this work.

You left out the bit where your head unit needs to run on Android. My Kenwood DMX8019s runs a seperate Kenwood OS so this device won't work.

You only need WiFi to install the app onto your head unit. Once installed, you’re good to go, no WiFi needed
